About Dave Fitzgerald

We first discovered Lake Burton in the 90s; it was love at first sight. After renting several homes, we decided to build our dream lake house - on a flat lot close to Atlanta. We have enjoyed raising our kids on the lake.

Dave Fitzgerald purchased this house in 1998

Why Dave Fitzgerald chose Northeast Mountains

The house is family friendly, has some of the best views on the lake, and has a sought after flat lot with 400 feet of shoreline. The home is very private (woods on either side). Once inside, you are transported back to the days of the Lakemont Hotel and the Tallulah Falls Railroad. This peaceful lake retreat is filled with numerous treasures collected from Nacoochee to Clarkesville, giving visitors a glimpse into Lake Burton's past.

What makes this house unique

Dramatic views of Charlie and Glassy Mountains, close to area restaurants and galleries, steps from the water. The long boardwalk, the boathouse, warm nooks in the home, and floating dock offer plenty of privacy for all staying, allowing some to fish, some to find a quiet spot to read, some to relax in the sun. It also offers children an amazing camp-like environment, with room to run, swim, play hide-and-seek, and cook smores over the outdoor fireplace.

Fantastic Family Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time that our extended family stayed at this Lake Burton house. The house is very accommodating and has a great kitchen and family area. We enjoyed the outdoor and the indoor fireplaces. The grounds are lovely and children have a lot of room to run and play. Very relaxing and a lovely mountain view! We hope to come back in the spring.

Great location, great home

This house was just perfect for a family reunion. Very well maintained, lovely location, and everything needed was provided. Nicely furnished, great kitchen for our large family group. We would certainly rent it again. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Property on Lake Burton's Cherokee Cove

  • 5 of 5

Our summer vacation with 2 other families (6 adults, 7 kids) was spent at this wonderful home on the waterfront of Cherokee Cove on the south end of Lake Burton. The owner is easy to work with and very responsive. The pictures and description of the property are accurate if not understated. The home sits at the widest part of the cove and looks east so sunrise is wonderful. Plenty of sunshine and refreshing water all day long! The cove provided low boat traffic and calm waters, which is different than many properties on Lake Burton. The house is gorgeous. It is cozy but large enough for our party of 13. It is minutes from La Prades marina which is very convenient for dinner at the Chophouse and boat rentals. We thought that the only downside to the home was that one couple had to sleep on twin beds. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the future!

We had a the pleasure of staying on Lake Burton at this property for a week and found it to be the perfect escape! It is well furnished with all of the necessities and more...little things like an ice maker, large pots and pans, extras towels, games, etc really were nice added touches. The views outside the home and the expansive shoreline really set the tone of the trip! My little girls loved being able to step into the water easily or jump off the floating swim dock. We rented a boat and there was a great spot to dock it away from the swimming area as well. The patio is inviting and it was nice to take advantage of the gas grill for cook outs. The rooms were adorable and well-adorned. The beds could be more comfortable; however, there were plenty of them to accommodate a large crowd. Being on the cove allowed for little boat traffic and great privacy! I would highly recommend this home to others!

Great location with a beautiful view.

We had a family reunion with 5 families. House was very well equipped and roomy. Had a beautiful lake view. We were there in the fall, but looks like a great place for the summer. Hoping to go back next year.

My Daddy's 84th Birthday was the best

  • 5 of 5

My family gathered for the weekend at Lake Burton and we were very happy with this house. It had enough room with the open concept kitchen, dining and family room for us all to be together. Then the next day was spent outside at the numerous places to sit and talk and enjoy the beauty of this exquisite lake. It was a family gathering that will definitely be remembered. It slept 16 of us very comfortably. We can't wait to go again.
