Spacious home, nice quiet location

  • 4 of 5

The good: The house is pretty big, We had 3 couples with some kids, and the space was a good size for our group. Nice living area, decent sized kitchen, and 2 separate dining areas.

The house was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, Dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, dishes, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, etc. It was really nice to arrive to such a well stocked house.

The house is only about 5 minutes from the local grocery store, and about 30 minutes to Asheville. Great location.

The not as good: The stairway to get to the second floor is quite creeky when you walk on it. That made things difficult when we had a child napping upstairs, or if someone needed to go up or down the stairs during the night.

Most of the beds were apparently comfortable. However, the one queen bed that my wife and I slept in was very hard.

As stated in some other reviews, the garage is only large enough for one vehicle.

The house had one key to access it, and it was stated that there would be a garage door opener remote as well. However, upon arrival there was no garage door remote in the house. So anytime we wanted to park in the one side of the garage large enough for a car, we had to go in through the front door, down into the basement, and open the garage there with the button on the wall.

We would probably stay here again if we were in the area. It had the issues mentioned above, but the price for what you get was a really good value in my opinion.

very comfortable home

  • 4 of 5

Our experience was excellent. We did have an issue with an overflowing toilet.

The driveway is somewhat steep, but was not an issue as we were there in June.

Plenty of space for the entire family

Amazing home!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have found a better home for our cycling trip. The location was AMAZING. The home was AMAZING (so beautifully decorated!) and the owners were super easy to work with. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Nice place very comfortable close to town

  • 4 of 5

We stayed 5 nights in the house while visiting our grandson at Mars Hill University. Property is well maintained and it provided a very comfortable place to stay. It is very close to town, Mars Hill University and shopping. Walmart is located about 20 minutes away in Weaverville. Ingles is the local Supermarket and has a wide variety of items at reasonable prices. The house is laid out well with 4 bedrooms upstairs which could accommodate up to 8 people. Master suite has a huge walk in closet and private bath. Another bath upstairs is shared by the other 3 bedrooms. Main Floor is kitchen, nook, formal dining and large living room. all rooms are fairly large. Bottom floor consists of a basement with laundry facilities and a 2 car garage. The garage will accommodate only a very small car so plan on parking in the driveway. Speaking of the driveway, it is very steep, I would not even try to go down or up with a motorcycle, it's scary enough in a pickup truck.

It was darn cold during our stay, the heat worked excellent and their is a gas fireplace in the living room which will make it very toasty. Make sure you read the directions on how to operate the gas fireplace which are located right on the fireplace. Their is a small gas grille on the deck off the kitchen nook. We did not use it but I would advise bringing the small mini propane tanks if you plan to use it. Cable TV and wireless internet worked flawlessly, their is also a ROKU 2 stick attached which we used to watch the Pay per view UFC 196. If you have a laptop running Windows 10 you might want to bring along an Ethernet cable, I had problems connecting to the wireless but it was my laptop's problem not the wireless as my Android phone connected to the wireless with no issues. I plugged my laptop directly into the router next to the TV and it worked fine. There is plenty of books and reading material.

Their was plenty of hot water, their were 7 of us staying there and we never ran out of hot water. 3 showers are available, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. It has a gas stove that works great in the kitchen. All appliances worked well, Fridge, Microwave, Toaster oven. Stay away from the regular toaster as I set it to low and it still burned my toast, ended up using the Toaster oven to make toast. It has plenty of pots and pans and dishes.

We plan on booking again during our next visit, try Papa Nicks pizza in Mars Hill and the Twisted Laurel in Weaverville, both have excellent food.

Very nice stay. Only there for a few days for a short skiing trip. It was super easy to find and only a short drive to shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay again next time in the area.
