This property has been in our family for over 130 years. On October 30, 1999, we (Katherine, Gary and Roberta - your hosts) began remodeling our childhood home. A lot of time and love has gone into making our house a “home away from home” for visitors. We hope you enjoy your time with us as much as we have enjoyed the life experiences we have shared here. We also hope that you will be able to know the same peace and tranquility that we feel when you come to “Rocky Ridge.”
The majority of our past guests have commented on the close proximity we are to everything in the Asheville area as well as the cleanliness we strive to maintain for our guests.
Rocky Ridge Retreat is perfect for newlyweds, retirees, or the small family on a budget. Spend your vacation enjoying all that Asheville and the surrounding areas have to offer. No matter whether you are coming for the cool summer breeze, the brilliant colors in the fall, to enjoy one of the arts and music festival, skiing, or just to get away for a relaxing weekend, you will find Rocky Ridge Retreat close (or within a short driving distance) to wherever you want to be.

A most enjoyable stay. The tranquil surroundings and nature made me feel at home. Thank you for a good nights sleep.
We have stayed in many homes and condos on our travels and this one is at the top of the list. What a nice stay. The house was cozy, warm, clean and extremely well furnished. We were surprised at all that was provided. Thanks for a nice Christmas.
Very convienient, clean, quiet and nice. Great base for sightseeing and visiting. Surprisingly quiet and country considering how close the interstates and hotels were. We were greeted by by a rafter of wild turkeys when we arrived and again each morning. We also got to watch a white squirrel scampering through the trees. In warmer whether I'm sure we would have enjoyed sitting on the wraparound deck and enjoying the country and forested views. Had no poblem finding the place with the owners directions. The only surprise for us was that the master bathroom had no shower and no privacy partition from the bedroom itself.
Super clean, spacious, well stocked and with easy access to Asheville, Biltmore House and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Roberta is easy to communicate with and very helpful.
Without a doubt this property was the cleanest I've ever rented. Nestled in the damp woods of the Asheville region, be advised there are many spiders outside, but absolutely none inside. If you have 4+ guests in our party, you'd be crazy to rent hotel rooms when this house is just perfect! One recommendation for the owners is to put the number of the street on the tree at the entrance of the long private driveway and on the front of the house. Even with GPS finding the house in the dark was a challenge as I had not viewed pictures of the house in advance. It was only when I pulled into the driveway and saw a combination front door lock did I know for sure I was at the correct property. A motion sensor front door light would also be a bonus. Still, I give this property an unqualified recommendation to future guests.
My daughter and I booked this home to visit my son who lives near the Asheville area. What a surprise to view the home as you drive up to it. We thought we had died and gone to Heaven. It is truly a magical place. We spent our mornings and evenings on the spacious front porch just enjoying the quietness and view. The house is well equipped for all your cooking needs but we spent many a night enjoying the wonderful restaurants in Asheville (Tupelo Honey, Cucina 24 and the Grove Park Inn). The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. The location was perfect for us because you could easily get onto the Blue Ridge Parkway or the freeway to take you to downtown Asheville (10-15 minute drive). This will always be our first choice to stay while in Asheville. Not only did we see a bear when we got onto the Parkway but our last morning at the house, we saw a white squirrel. We Texans thought it was magical.
Our family had a wonderful stay at RR. It really is conveniently located yet tucked away in a quiet, traquil place. We had everything we needed and more. Thanks for everything.
