About the property

1 bedroom, 1 studio, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

The best location in La Paz! In the center of everything!

One minute walk to the Malecon.

This 2 story casita next to a 120 year old Tamarind tree and was renovated this summer (2014). The studio (downstairs) has a kitchen, dining table and a sofa bed that makes 2 twins or a Queen with extra thick orthopedic foam, very comfortable. There is a bathroom downstairs and also one upstairs with the bedroom which is furnished with a full size bed and a twin memory foam bed. Super high efficiency AC units in both rooms. It is on the same property with Casa de la Vaquita which was built in the 1890's, sharing a common courtyard.

Great Place to Stay in La Paz!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Casita Tamarindo for two months January - March, 2016. Christine and Kevin were wonderful "landlords". They were very personable and responsive to our every need. We also brought our dog, Willie, and he had a few play-dates with his "Mexican girlfriend", Jellybean! The market is right across the street. There are tons of restaurants from which to choose. Everything is within walking distance. We had a car since we drove from Ohio, but you can always bus to the beaches and other places. Both Christine and Kevin are knowledgeable about not only La Paz, but other surrounding towns as well (where to eat, what to see, etc.) We loved the property and the location - so close to the Malecon! We miss our daily walks, fresh seafood, and La Paz!

Lovely spot, great location

  • 5 of 5

Great place. We stayed for a week with our two daughters (age 9 & 11). Great location - easy walk to the Malecon for dinner & drinks at night, beach/dock during the day and morning jogging up to Coromuel. The courtyard & outdoor kitchen were also great spots to relax in the evenings, and the two floors made it easy for kids & adults to each of their own separate spaces. Would also be a great spot to come back to with a bigger group of a couple families & rent out both properties.

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Casita Tamarindo. Christine, the owner, greeted us when we arrived. The place is as nice as it looks in the pictures. Great layout and beautifully decorated with Mexican art and textiles. There's bottled water that we used to brush our teeth with and Christine also had a few beers and juice boxes in the fridge when we arrived. The house is two blocks from the Malecon so the location is perfect. There's also a grocery store across the street and a couple nights we enjoyed chips and guacamole (and a few beers) on our patio. The house also comes with beach towels and a clothes line so we could dry them each night. We rented half the house and shared the courtyard with nice people from Cali. It would be fun to rent the whole place out with a large group. We hope to be back to La Paz and we'll definitely stay at Casita Tamarindo again. Thanks, Christine!

Corner of Miguel Hidalgo and Francisco Madero. DO NOT use Google Maps, they send you far inland!

From the Malecon going North, pass the Bismarkcito restaurant, turn right at the OXXO and go up hill one block, pass Belisario Dominguez, the house os on the left on the corner of Francisco Madero. Gray with white iron work, baby cow on the roof.
