Disappointed and Frozen

  • 1 of 5

Unfortunately, we rented a non weatherized cabin at Christmas time (walls are not insulated and the windows are single pane). We froze the entire time and became congested from all the soot in the air from lighting one fire after another. The cabin is neat and tidy, but it is filthy...........the kitchen cabinets have years of yuck on them and when I sat down on the couch, a plume of dust particles swirled around my head. The bathroom has no fan, so the only relief is to open the window and let 20-30 degree air in. The shower leaks and there is mold growing on the floor. We recommend that this cabin be taken off the rental market, thoroughly cleaned, neglect repaired (including leak in eave over the picnic table) and completely weatherized. We recommend others ask many questions before renting any bronze cabin in The Redwoods.

Owner's Response: Thank you for voicing your concern regarding this cabin. Although we do appreciate and welcome feedback from our guests, this review took us by surprise. During your 8 night stay with us we did not learn of your displeasure with our cabin until you were departing. Due to the nature of your complaints, we sent management to the cabin right away to review and respond as needed prior to any future guest arrival. At that time we were unable to locate any areas of concern that resembled your descriptions. We manage over 120 vacation home rentals inside Yosemite National Park and our guests consistently rate their stays very high and state that they will return (98%) and that they will refer us to others (99%). Our homes range in size from 1-6 bedroom and are rated Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Although this home is rated at the Bronze level (which is a minimum AAA rating) we receive high scores from our guests who stay there and many compliments are given to it. In fact, this home has a 4.5 out of 5 star review from that past 32 reviews! It is disappointing to learn of your deep displeasure with your experience at The Redwoods In Yosemite. Had you contacted us during your stay, our 24/7 staff would have made every effort to increase your comfort and satisfaction level. Not only do our homes have an average rating by our guest satisfaction scores in the high 90's, our customer service levels and response times rate even higher! Best regards, Donna Davis Vice President and General Manager

Retreat in the woods

What a peaceful lovely cabin

Kitchen has been very thing you need, bathroom tiny but adequate, deck is great, location good. Secret swimming hole close. We brought our food but it is close enough go to the Wawona to walk to meals. My corgi loved it as he watched critters on the deck in pure dog heaven. Wonderful cabin -wish I could stay longer.. Like forever!

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here from 12/22/15 through 12/27/15 (checked out on 12/27) with my partner and dog, and had an amazing time. It snowed at our cabin and we had fun playing in the snow. We didn't want to go home! We loved the fireplace, and the easy access to firewood right outside of our cabin. The deck outside was wonderful and my dog enjoyed playing in the snow on our deck. The staff was helpful and kind. It was our first time here and we definitely want to come back here again!

First time 3 night stay

  • 5 of 5

All the ladies were helpful. We really enjoyed the cabin. It was clean, private, and cozy. Do not know how old the building is, but likely on the older side and understandably, the bathroom was quite small, but clean and well taken care of. The rest of the cabin was updated and fine.
