Magical! That is the best word to describe living on Bayou St. John. The pelicans flying, kayaks and canoes in the water, and the parade of dogs and people walking the Bayou all day.
Many cafes, bars, restaurants are walking distance. Stroll over to City Park for a paddle boat ride or YOLO. Go to Storybookland, the Art Museum, or ride the Carousel. All just a quick walk from the residence. Historic cemeteries are across the Bayou, and you will be surrounded with some of the most amazing architecture in the New Orleans.
JAZZ FEST: You are just a ten minute walk to the festival grounds. The most fabulous Jazz Fest headquarters.
ENDYMION: Amazing Mardi Gras location for all the excitement of Endymion. Walk to the heart of Endymion Country.

Great accommodations and location!
Our group of friends very much enjoyed our stay. The home accommodated us very well and is a convenient location with many nearby restaurants and coffee shops. Also a short uber ride into the Marigny and Quarter. Christian the manager was very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Thanks!
Great location. Look at the details of the rental.
Be aware that you are renting the first floor of this residence. The owner lives on the second floor. It is also important to know that the first floor porch in the back of the house is not available to guests. Anticipate a FaceTime interview with the manager. This was unexpected, especially after two phone calls prior to our arrival.
We were looking for a 4 bedroom house for the family to stay for our daughter's wedding near city park. This was definitely expensive, almost $700/night but seems perfect. It had a beautiful view of Bayou St John and 1 mile from our venue at Popp Dountain/Arbor room in City Park. The decor was beautiful. But we needed a 4 bedroom for 4 adult couples. The master was beautiful, but another bedroom had the half bath, inaccessible to the other couples. The third bedroom had a glass French doors in it from which you had to access the fourth bedroom. So couple 4 had to go through couple 3's bedroom to go to the bathroom or kitchen. It's fine if you have kids in bedroom 3 & 4 very VERY inconvenient for two sets of married adult couples. Amenities were very slim...2towels for each bedroom so everyone got one towel only. So 2 happy couples & two very unhappy couples. Worse, we texted the owner/manager? With several questions and got only the reply, "I dont recognize your phone # even though we texted the address we were renting". Lastly, but the back door had a sign "do not open; alarm will sound". What???? No access to back yard!! I've used VRBO frequently, always had better amenities (no salt in salt shakers). This place should be listed as a 3+ bedroom with no access to yard and off street parking only. Neighbors and area were perfect and the master closet had a very high hanger bar (perfect for long gowns & wedding dress). I'll probably never use VRBO again from fear of a similar experience. My first text to the owner/manager was....."does the ice maker work?" It was never answered nor did it ever work:(
Absolute perfection - only one flaw
This property is a treasure. My husband, 4 adult kids and I loved every minute in this beautiful city and our time in the house. The house was comfortable for all of us and had everything that we needed. The location in the bayou and across from City Park is a special treat. The only flaw is that now this remarkable property won't be a secret for long. Thank you to the owners and Christian for a special first visit to NOLA and Bayou St. John. We are grateful and hope to come back many more times in the future.
Beautiful property and lovely house! Being right on the bayou and close to City Park makes for a lovely and relaxed weekend. Easy access to the quarter and Marigny with the trolley car and uber. Host was very responsive-- a minor mix up about dates meant that we ended up on the patio for a while with complimentary Veuve Cliquot while all issues were magically fixed! Charming place to stay for a girls weekend in the city.
A fabulous place!
The house was fantastic. We had 4 couples down for Jazzfest and it couldn't have been better. Mornings contained walks or runs through City Park, less than an 1/8 mile away. Jazzfest was a 10 minute walk. We didn't rent a car. Just used Uber if needed. 5 minute walk to Cansecos Grocery store. Christian met us to walk us through the house when we arrived and was very responsive via phone when we had questions. We spent a lot of time on the porch watching activity on the bayou. Neighbors are very friendly as well. Definitely recommend this place.
