North Arroyo House Rental Photos and Description

Two-Bedroom, One-Bath Garden Retreat nestled at base of San Gabriel Mountains!

Guests will enjoy two-bedrooms with luxurious bedding, both overlooking - and with direct access to - the back yard garden. One bedroom offers a four-poster queen size bed with a cherry wood dresser, ample closet space. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed with a ceiling fan and a smaller closet space.

The Bathroom is situated between the two Bedrooms and offers a separate shower and bathtub, fresh linens, and all basic toiletries, including shampoo and conditioner, blow dryer, shaving cream and razors, soap and more!

The Living Room offers a fully working fireplace, a flat screen TV (includes Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, Amazon. No local channels), sound system and cozy sectional with a small, adjacent Dining Room.

The newly-renovated, full-size Kitchen offers full use of all appliances, pots and pans, utensils and dishware. Free coffee, creamer, sugar is also provided. Please note: as water conservation is important to the owner, there is no dish washer in the kitchen.

Sneak outside your bedroom patio door and lounge under a giant tree, or pick fresh (seasonal) veggies and herbs from the garden.

Guests who are fond of curiosities and oddities will delight in the smattering of skeletons and Botero prints throughout the house; while more conservative guests will appreciate the owner's five-star customer service, discretion, cleanliness and well-tended gardens.

The house and the gardens are completely yours, while the owner stays onsite and on-call for your every need in a detached bungalow in the back garden.

*There is two units on the property. Owner lives in back house that is located a few hundred feet from the front house*

The Neighborhood

The home is a stone’s throw away from gorgeous hiking trails featuring waterfalls; the local Farmers Markets; Old Town Pasadena; the Pasadena Rose Bowl; Pasadena City College; Art Center; Caltech; downtown Los Angeles; Hollywood; supermarkets; churches; gyms; world-class shopping, convenience and venues!

Getting Around

Just a few miles to JPL, nearby bus lines, light rail, 30 minutes to Burbank Airport, 60 minutes to LAX; ask owner for map and local public transportation information.The nearest bus line is 3/4 of a mile; therefore, access to a rental car or bicycle is highly recommended.

Parking

Ample free street parking in front of house.

The Owner has one (1) mountain bike that guests can rent for a $20 flat fee (lock included) to use as personal transportation during your visit or to take out on the trails!

You are as close to the mountains as you are to the ocean, and technically, you can ski and surf within same day! Please ask for recommendations and a guest brochure!

What makes this house unique

My home is representative of my love of nature: surrounded by trees, foothills, hiking trails and the gardens I've built, which are both a joy and an obsession. I enjoy sharing my home as well as my beautiful neighborhood, which offers as much culture as it does aesthetic beauty. Welcome!

Beautiful home in just the perfect location

We stayed at this beautiful home for 3 nights when visiting the Los Angeles area. It was very close to the freeway, yet still nestled in a neighborhood with zero noise. The home is well equipped for cooking (no dishwasher, but that ended up not being a problem). Beds were very comfortable. Damien was very accommodating with our stay and even accepted a package we had sent out a few days before our arrival. Laundry facilities in the detached garage was a plus!

Very nice property with lots of charm.

Lots of charm abound here. An older home that has been heavily updated. Love the wood floors and the character it brings.

We are a family and I wouldn't recommend the home to a place with young kids, but rather adults looking for a place to stay. The main reason is there were not enough dishes to accommodate us. Also no dishwasher means hand washing the heavy glass dishware. Kids ask lots of questions about the art on the walls where adults would appreciate the charm it brings.

Note: the owner (super nice guy) lives on the property in a house outback. You will have privacy but it is something to note.

Cozy. Friendly. Convenient. Interesting. Beautiful. Who could ask for more?

We just spent a wonderful week in Damien's gorgeous home in Altadena. My husband was working in the Huntington Library in Pasadena, and we were both hoping to relax after a long Winter semester. This lovely house served both purposes brilliantly.

First, Damien is an excellent host -- friendly and accommodating. The house is equipped to a very high standard. The gardens, front and back, make it very tempting to sit home all day watching the birds and the brilliant flowers.The house is comfortably furnished (comfy chairs! good beds! and a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu!), with interesting and amusing artwork to add a very distinctive touch.

The house is conveniently situated for any type of vacation: a nearby junction to CA210 connects you to the LA freeway system. The town of LaCanada Flintridge provides good shopping and dining less than 10 minutes away. We proved daily that you can be anywhere in Pasadena in about 20 minutes. The Rosebowl is less than 2 miles away. (We think we could just make out Beyonce, performing there on our first night in the house!)

Happy to have had a chance to stay in this lovely house -- at the first opportunity, we will be back!

Convenient and Comfortable - Great Owner

My partner and I had a great stay in Damien's home. We are local Pasadena residents and needed a place to stay and this location and home suited us perfectly. The home is nicely equipped with everything you need and is the perfect place for two people and a dog, like we had. I loved how close the house was to the Arroyo (1 block away). Lots of great hiking or biking pretty much right outside your doorstep. It's also so convenient to the freeways and points of interest. Damien couldn't have been nicer or more respectful of our privacy. We will stay again!
