This spacious condominium, set in beautifully landscaped grounds, is an ideal setting for a relaxing sun-soaked vacation. Hale Kamaole is located across the street from Kamaole Beach Park III, one of Kihei’s premier beach parks, great for swimming, snorkeling, stand- up paddle boarding, sunning, and spectacular sunsets. Property amenities include a tennis court, two swimming pools, and BBQ area with ocean view.

The unit is a large (1215 square feet) split level, two bedroom, two bath condo with a private lanai. Its amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, cable TV, free WiFi, DVD player, telephone, in-room safe, washer/dryer, ceiling fans, and air conditioning in the bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the 2nd bedroom has twin beds, and the living room has a sofa bed, so you can comfortably sleep 6.

Nice...But Has a Couple Issues

I spent ten nights in this condo with my family. It has some positive aspects to it, but there were a couple negatives that have to be mentioned. The condo is very well located--across the street from the beach. There are very nice beaches and snorkeling just to the south in Wailea. The condo is about as close to Wailea as you can get without getting into a different rent bracket. It's also within walking distance of restaurants and shopping in Kihea. It's a great location.

The unit has been remodeled and, for the most part, was nicely updated and furnished. It has lots of room. The furniture, towels and bedding was adequate and functional but not great. The kitchen was nicely supplied. The complex is ok and reasonably well kept but a little older.

Now the not so great...the carpet in the lower bedroom and upstairs is worn and stained. It is carpet I would expect in an old cheap motel or low end apartment. Not very nice. But the biggest issue for us was the wifi. No instructions or password were left for us. It took a day to get the password from the manager. Then it didn't work. It took another day to have someone come "fix" it. After it was fixed, it would only load simple sites very slowly. We called again and left another message. We didn't hear back all week. It significantly impacted our vacation time...No researching activities for the first two days after we arrived. No watching movies or videos in the evenings. My daughter has a youtube channel--no uploading videos. I'm a photographer--no uploading/backing up my photos. My son couldn't play games. We couldn't download movies for our flight home. It had a significant negative impact on our week. I stopped and talked to a manager when dropping off the keys, telling her exactly what I'm describing here. She took notes and said she would get back to me. Over a week later and I've heard nothing.

This unit is a good value, a good location and could get four or five stars with minimal investment--some new carpet and a new modem/router. However, until those are resolved or unless you don't really care about those things, I can't fully recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review of this condo at the Hale Kamaole. It sounds like you had two main concerns. We will take a look at the carpet to schedule a carpet cleaning or suggest to the owner to replace it. As for the internet speed, our management company has been working with Oceanic Time Warner to purchase a faster connection for all the condos we manage at the Hale Kamaole. Oceanic Time Warner mentioned that the speeds the condos currently have will suffice during most months of the year, but when Hale Kamaole is fully occupied in the months of Jan - March, and every guest is streaming Netflix, downloading videos, etc, the bandwith is really tested. Oceanic Time Warner has advised us that we could have our Hale Kamaole managed condos upgraded to the faster internet packages by mid-summer and we are hoping this will resolve any internet issues during our peak travel periods.
