The Purple Giraffe Inn is located on the east side of Mt. Tabor. It directly faces the Columbia River Gorge. If you're a morning person, you'll love the late spring / summer sunrises. In the late afternoon, there are some beautiful reflective hues on the mountain ridges. Mt. Tabor Park is a few blocks away and full of year round activities such as road cycling, mountain biking, adult (family friendly) soapbox derby race, free Mt Tabor summer concerts, as well as tranquil walks, birding, and spectacular sunsets over the city. It's a nature photographer's haven.
A few blocks away down a 'secret' path the Montavilla neighborhood boasts of two great restaurants.
