16th arrondissement is a great mixture of stunning views, great monuments, harmonious haussmanian architecture and river front Seine. It s more green and spacious than any other area of Paris. I love the very parisian neighborhood, the typical street market, the presence of the Eiffel tower, the river front seine I ride with my bicycle (on bicycle lanes) and the proximity of the Bois de Boulogne to take some fresh air.
Looking for a flat in Paris, I ve had a 'coup de coeur' for this lovely charming flat who is both grand style and warm. I love haussmanian style with wooden floors, firplaces, high ceilings and mouldings. The flamboyant (from green to red) virginia creeper in the courtyard gives such a wonderful feeling of countryside despite being in the center of Paris. It s light, calm and spacious. Situated on the third floor, it has a nice clear view on the street and a little balcony.
Some of the most interesting museums are at walking distance from the flat: The musée Marmottan (the most famous paintings of Monet), The Palais galliera (very elegant hotel particulier with fashion collections), the very confidential Wine museum, the Cité de l'Architecture, the Palais Tokyo and Musée d'art moderne both dedicated to contemporary paintings, The very new Fondation Louis Vuitton, The Musée des Arts Primitifs, or architecture themed walk from Le corbusier, Mallet stevens and art deco style...Regarding outdoor activity: you have the proximity of the Bois de Boulogne where you can walk, run, ride horses and paddle on the lake or have a nice lunch at the Chalet. Fond of horse races? Go and bet at Hippodrome de Longchamps, it's fun!. Still in the Bois, you ll discover the very new and amazing Frank Gerhy architecture Fondation Louis Vuitton. If you love sports competitions, you ll be close to famous tennis club Roland Garros, the Parc des princes for football and the stade Jean Bouin for Rugby.
