We had a very nice stay - rooms are big and the house is blessed with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equiped. Garden and pool is well maintained. All in all we had a wonderful week. Would recommend the house at any time.

Une villa confortable aux belles prestations

La villa située au bord de la magnifique lagune d'Obidos (eaux calmes et tempérées, pêche et canoë) et de l'océan , se trouve dans un environnement calme et boisée.

La villa offre de belles prestations ( piscine et jardin bien entretenus et propres ) et est bien équipée.

Toute proche d'Obidos (remparts, vieille ville. Commerces. Restaurants ) et de Caldas (marché, centre commercial, restaurant, shopping, artisanat de qualité ), vous pouvez atteindre Lisbonne en un peu plus d'une heure.

A voir dans les environs, Tomar,Sintra,Alcobaca, Nazare. Etc..

Se reposer au calme dans le jardin est également une option..

Le propriétaire et le gestionnaire du site sont de bons conseils et répondent à vos interrogations.

Je recommande vivement cette adresse.

Not worth the price

The house is built in a street with dozens of other houses of the same type. They are all built on a hill slope. This one is on the lower part of the hill with the wall facing the road built into the ground. So the kitchen is souterrain. Unfortunately the wall is moist and a strong mouldy smell fills the whole kitchen and living room. Venting does not really help, it stinks again once the window is closed. Our complaint was simply rejected by the housekeeper. Further, the house was not well cleaned, with sticky doors, cob webs and really disgusting pillow inlets; also seat cushins had mould stains. The housekeeper offered an additional cleaning, but only two days before we left. Ha ha. The house has no heating, and the whole-year humid air made furniture partly to loose its verneer. Outdoor furniture is also old and worn, not to expect at such a price. The pool is clean, but completely surrounded by a hedge and a wire fence, making the garden lose the generosity it could have (though good for infants, but with infants I would never rent such a mould-infested house). The kids' sleeping room has four beds (bunk beds) on a small area and suffers also from the mouldy smell and was not properly cleaned.

The area is quite isolated. The lagoon beach is gorgeous and great with small children and 5 minutes to go by car. The next town with infrastructure is Obidos, 30 Minutes by car through a hilly landscape with narrow roads. Every other locations are reachable from there, which means that every excursion has an offset of 30 minutes. Peniche has a great beach, too, good for body boarding and surfing, rather crowded but good vibes, reachable in 30 minutes. Food Shopping is best in Reinha (35 min).

The landlord is a nice guy, offered us a late check-out and paid back the security deposit without any trouble. From his place in England he could not help us with our problems.

The whole "urbanisacao" is synthetic, investments made before the economic crisis in 2008. 25% of houses for sale, even some foreclosures. Some roads have been built with traffic signs, dustbins, street lamps, disabled parking (!) etc, but no houses and all in decay. This gives the area an eerie atmosphere, and we minimized the time we spent in the house and in the area.

Nevertheless, the beaches are fantastic (though the fog lifted only around noon), and the backcountry boasts an amazing wealth of cultural highlights. We will come back, but not rent again this house.

Très bien

Maison moderne, agréable, propre, bien entretenue et très bien équipée. Elle se situe dans un endroit un peu isolé, au calme, mais proche du lagon et de la plage. la région est très belle. Le propriétaire nous a fourni beaucoup d'informations utiles et appréciables. Le boulanger qui passe tous les matins dans le quartier est aussi très pratique.

Notre séjour dans cette maison a été très agréable.

Séjour magnifique avec prestations de qualité

Résidence de standing isolée en pleine nature à quelques minutes à pied du Lagon d'Obidos et à 4 kms en voiture de la première plage.

Prestations de qualité, golf, canoë et autres activités à proximité.

Gestionnaire de qualité sur place, jardiniers, pisciniste, petit plus le boulanger passe tous les matins dans la résidence.

La maison est vaste, lumineuse et dispose d'un bel équipement.

Le jardin paysagé et la piscine ne manque pas de charme.

Très située pour un départ de multiples visites.

Bref un havre de paix pour de superbes vacances.

From Porto, it takes roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes.

In the heart of the Estremadura region, you will have access to a variety of outdoor sports: golf, tennis, wind-surf, kite-surf and surf, sail, mountain bike...

For food lovers, the Estremadura region is known for its wines and there are plenty of excellent vineyards 30 to 45 minutes away to visit and buy your wine from. And with the wine comes the food of course; the region and the coast boasts some of the best restaurants north of Lisbon.
