Overview

About the property

4 bedroom, 2 Bath with Expansive Level Lakefront, Beautiful Panoramic Lake Views

Our lake home is an open-living concept home that was completely remodeled in 2007 with quality in mind. The open concept area features beautiful cathedral ceilings, a massive real stone fireplace, a large dining area with an 8 foot log table, a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, and a comfortable living room area that seats a large group and can be used for additional sleeping space, if needed.

The rest of the house contains the four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, and another family room.

Up a short carpeted flight of stairs are three bedrooms. They all have Wildlife themes and hand-crafted log furniture.. Two bedrooms have French doors that open up to a large lakeside screen porch. The Bear-themed room has a Queen-size bed and a crib. The master bedroom, with an Owl and Pine Cone theme, has a King-size bed. The third bedroom has a Duck theme and contains a Queen/XL Twin bunk log bed.

The three upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom that has a large vanity with two sinks and many drawers and cupboards to stash your toiletries. It also has a deep, jetted tub/shower.

The downstairs bedroom has a Fishing Theme with a Queen log bed and wardrobe. There is a 3/4 bathroom across the hall. That bathroom has a large vanity also .

The laundry room is fully equipped with a new HE washer/dryer, utility sink, and all the supplies you will need for your stay.

The downstairs family room has ample seating with two sofas (One is a double hide-a-bed.), rocker recliner, and more. This area has a flat screen television and a children's play area also. This room also has a no-step exit out to the lakefront. We have added a work station with a all-in-one printer for those to need to do some work while on vacation.

Outside, on the lake side, there is a large concrete patio with patio furniture. On the driveway side, there is an additional large concrete patio with a gas grill. Down by the lake is the fire pit for the daytime hot dog roast or the evening campfires.

We also have a Boathouse that has been converted to a rec room. It has a ping pong and foosball table, and a dart board. There is a music system inside with outdoor speakers so you can have music for your guests playing inside and outside. The boathouse is a great place for the guests who like to burn off a little energy or just want some separate space.

Our property has a 60 foot long dock and a 3000 pound capacity boat lift with electric assist to make getting out on the lake a breeze. The dock has electricity available for charging boat batteries. The swimming area is accessed from the dock, because the shoreline is rocky. The water level where the sand bottom begins is about a foot and a half. At the end of the dock, it is 4 feet deep. We have put in a small beach area in front of the boat house for little ones to have fun in the sand. We have a canoe, paddle boat, and two 10 foot kayaks available for guest use. The kayaks are stored in the boat house along with a number of life jackets.

On the west side of the property, we have a screened, lighted fish-cleaning building with a large stainless steel table to make fish cleaning convenient and bug-free. There are outlets for electric filet knives and a garden hose attachment for easy clean up.

Also, our long circular driveway gives the property lots of space for parking cars and boat trailers. Our property is quite spacious so everyone can have privacy to getaway and relax. We love this lake home and are sure that you will agree!

About Terry Gardner

We have lived in southern Minnesota, farm country, for most of our married life. We have four children, all grown, with whom we shared our love of the great outdoors on many summer camping trips. Our favorite places to camp were the State Parks in Minnesota. We also had great trips to the Black Hills, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, and Canada. It seems we gravitated a lot to the north woods to hike, bike, fish, and camp over the years.

Terry Gardner purchased this house in 2014

Why Terry Gardner chose Leech Lake

We bought our lake place on Leech to continue enjoying the great outdoors, but now with all the comforts of home.

What makes this house unique

This property has all the comforts of home with untouched nature just outside the door. It is the best of both worlds.

A beautiful property with all the amenities of home!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this amazing home! We were there in October , ( which is our favorite time to visit Leech Lake) so we enjoyed fantastic fall colors, loons calling, birds, (including many Eagles ), breathtaking views and great fishing! The new inclosed fish house is a great addition - making cleanup convenient .

We have been coming to the area for many years, but really enjoy the personal touch and feeling of "being home" that the owners have worked hard to provide at this wonderful retreat! We look forward to our next stay here!

Amazing lake home

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home was perfect for our family vacation! We had three different families staying here with four children ranging from infant to 6 years. The cabin had everything we needed for their safety and to keep them entertained (baby gate, high chair, pack n play, sand toys, x-box, game room with ping pong table, etc). The layout is wonderful with an open concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and then a lower level living room that the kiddos used. We never felt crowded at all. There is a ladder just a few feet from the beginning of the dock which leads right to the sandy bottom. It is still very shallow here and was a perfect place for the 3-year olds to swim without having to jump off the dock. One family flew in from Florida and another from Arizona and Terry was very fast to respond to all of our packing questions (I e-mailed her so many times it may have been harassment!) This is truly an amazing place to stay- one week was not enough time!

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Really can’t say enough about what a pleasurable vacation home this is!

Home has everything you need. Two family/living rooms with satellite tv, one with DVD player, to keep the kids entertained with a movie and in their own space. Internet, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, additional game room/space for kids with ping pong and foosball. The dock was fun to jump off, and the power lift made it so easy to store the boat. Leech Lake gave up some walleyes which were cleaned in a spectacular fish cleaning house. The fire pit worked great for evening fires by the lake. The house was clean and very well maintained, beds very comfortable. Air conditioning was a plus for the hot days. Terry was very accessible, patient and quick to respond to any questions we had. A wonderful place to spend a week!! So happy we found it, thank you Gardners for allowing us to enjoy it, we hope to return!

Beautiful home and setting!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this home. It was beautiful inside and out. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The boat lift is great and is very easy to use. The kayaks, paddle boat and canoe were lots of fun.

Our only disappointment with the week was the weather! It was rainy, cloudy and windy most of the week. The bright spot with that was the house was also well stocked with games and movies.

We had a great week away in spite of the weather. When we had a question and called Terry she was quick to respond and easy to visit with. It was a wonderful week.

Great lake home

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a great week at this lovely home. The gently sloping front yard overlooking the lake was nice for our grandchildren and all our yard games. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were pretty comfortable. We loved the ping pong table and of course the lake for tubing, boating, etc. The only thing missing was a sandy beach. However, we were able to boat over to the nearby sandbars.

Our lake home sits on one of the prime fishing bays of Leech Lake, Trader's Bay. We are conveniently located near many resorts which carry groceries, bait, and gas. They also have boats available to rent.

For those who don't fish, or are looking for other entertainment options, the town of Walker has much to offer. There are lots of fun specialty gift stores, boutiques, coffee shops, and artists malls. They have many good restaurant choices for budget minded people to those looking for fine dining. Most of the area towns have a full schedule of activities throughout the summer.
