About Georgia Rose
I'm into promoting and living a sustainable lifestyle, as best I can. I've been enhancing and converting components of this house to become more efficient and sustainable: water permeable cement driveway, LED lighting throughout, H20 distiller, lawn removed & replaced by drought resistant landscape, evaporative coolers, better insulation, and gray water usage. I enjoy growing vegetables, fruits and landscapes that support all creatures.
Georgia Rose purchased this House in 1988

Hose was perfect and the owner was so easy to communicate with. Thank you!
Excellent home and owner to enjoy Sacramento....from Larry and Martha
Need to set the stage to why we were interested in a VRBO home in Sacramento. Our son and family of four live in Sacramento. Due to health issues with our youngest grandson, the six of us that live in Kansas could not spend a Christmas with the Sacramento Family for these last five years. But now, the grandson is healthy, so this trip was so important. Also, as luck would have it, the Kansas Jayhawks were to play in Sacramento.
Georgia Rose’s vacation home caught our attention. It is in an area that we are familiar with and close to the light rail, which worked great for our trip to the Golden 1 Center. Temperatures dropped into the mid 30’s, but the fireplace in the living room and the heaters in the 3 bedrooms kept us cozy. While it is advertised to sleep 6, as there is a single bed in the 3rd. BR, our youngest granddaughter slept on the couch in the living room. She was okay with that; she was close to the fireplace.
The kitchen is so well equipped…. preparing and serving food for 10 was no problem. The dish washer works great. Also, the washer and dryer are in the kitchen area, so very convenient to do laundry.
Also of importance to us was the recording capability for the TV, as well as a wireless printer that accepted printing from Apple devices.
We enjoyed oranges from the garden area. It has very interesting landscaping and unique items throughout the yard. There are multiple outdoor sitting areas. Also, off street parking for one vehicle was very good. A binder contains helpful information about the area, and we enjoyed numerous meals at recommended restaurants.
We had a couple of occasions where we needed advice or supplies from Georgia. She was very easy to get in contact with and responded very quickly.
We recommend Georgia’s Garden Home to anyone looking for an easy to-get-to home, with all the amenities to enjoy meals, lodging and relaxation. We certainly want to stay there again.
Relaxing place to stay close to Old Town Sacramento
This was the perfect place for almost everything we came out to California to do—the one exception was that I “had” to go to Death Valley to get at least one geocache and Death Valley is not close to anything. It was close to the family reunion 30 minutes south, my sister and brother-in-law 30 minutes east, and one of my high school friends an hour west. Of course it’s also a 30 minute bike ride to old town Sacramento; there are six bikes provided. Based upon the description of the property it seemed to be the perfect place for us and my wife’s mother and, sister and her husband.
It was perfect. We ate most of our meals in the charming garden off the living room (the east patio). Even though it was in the 90s most of the days we were there the garden was comfortable; shady and almost always had a nice breeze. Of course being from Virginia the lack of humidity was godsent. There’s also a “full-blown vegetable garden” next to the house. Georgia Rose walked us through telling us that anything that we were free to use anything that was ripe. We didn’t have to buy any squashes or greens the whole week we were there.
Georgia Rose was the prefect host and very responsive. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay close to Sacramento. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area again.
Pete and family were so friendly, thoughtful, and appreciative. And they left the property in the same condition as when they arrived. It would be a pleasure to be their host again!
Georgia's home was a wonderful place to spend 3 months
We spent 3 months this winter in this comfortable home. We have stayed in many VRBO/Homeaway homes and Georgia was by far the best landlord we have experienced. The house is so well equipped with high end furniture, bedding, and kitchen supplies. There was even a turkey roaster that we used for Christmas dinner.
The yard offers relaxing and beautiful places to sit. (unfortunately it was cold and wet a lot of the time we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the yard as much as we wanted) There is a nice attached lot with fruit trees and in season garden vegetables. We used the lemons to make our own lemonade.
The house is designed so that 2 couples can have private space, with the master bedroom in the front of the house and the other 2 bedrooms in the back with a second bathroom, and a door that can be used to separate that section from the main living space.
The house is located near the Cal Expo, Arden Fair Mall, Costco and other attractions. The light rail stop is just around the corner and we took advantage of that to go into downtown Sacramento on several occasions.
The house doesn't have central heat, but there is a wonderfully cozy gas fireplace in the living room and a built in gas heater in the master bedroom. The back area of the house is heated by portable oil radiators. We were kept toasty warm even during the cold snap in December. We weren't there in the summer, so can't speak for the air conditioning unit.
The house was neat and clean when we arrived. Georgia spends 3 days with a professional cleaning crew between each guest's stay cleaning everything. Her attention to detail will make your stay in this home very enjoyable.
We had a wonderful stay at Georgia's house in Sacramento
The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and just as it is presented on the website. There was plenty of room for our multi-generational group to spread out and come together over our 5 night stay and we all slept very well in the comfortable beds. We did not get to meet Georgia as we were both very busy during our stay, but she was very attentive and accessible by text message, and everything in the house was set up so well that we really did not need any extra help!
We enjoyed riding the bikes provided on the nearby American River bike trail, visited the Crocker Art Museum, cooked some very nice family dinners and ate at a local taqueria, Chando's Tacos.
We hope to return same time next year!
Wonderful home and thoughtful host -- a true gem!
We stayed here for a full month while moving to the area. The house was both cozy and spacious enough to comfortably accommodate us, our toddler, and our parents who came to help care for her for two weeks.
Georgia is super thoughtful and responsive, and every detail was provided for -- from laundry detergent and cloth napkins to Georgia specially bringing over a kiddie wading pool for our little one to play in on those triple-digit Sacramento summer days. If anything came up, we just texted her and she responded quickly and took care of it.
The nicely landscaped and well-shaded patio/garden, multiple outdoor seating areas, and outdoor grill enabled true indoor/outdoor living -- even during summer -- which made our stay particularly enjoyable. For others with kids: there is a playground within walking distance, too.
It was a pleasure to be host to this family who were appreciative of my efforts and left the property in same condition as it was when they arrived. I'm thankful they were my guests!
