About the property

Three bd, 2 ba house surrounded by large evergreen trees and sitting gardens.

House is between airport and downtown Sacramento, 1 block off Del Paso Boulevard (Route 40) commercial district a.k.a. 'Uptown', near restaurants, antique shops, lite rail. You can take lite rail or bike trail to downtown. It is about 1.5 miles to downtown, 3 miles to Arden Fair Mall. Four exterior doors lead to various private patio areas. Gas fireplace. Fully loaded kitchen with purified water system. Three TV's, with cable and all movie channels. Two bedrooms have queen beds and 3rd bedroom a single bed. Living room couch is also very comfortable for sleeping. Quality bed linens and bath towels. Washer/Dryer.

There are 2 off street parking places and usually plenty of additional parking places on street in front of house. Six bikes and head gear are provided, for enjoying the 32 mile American River Bike Trail. Private access to large vacant fenced-in city lot next door with seasonal vegetable garden and fruit trees is given to guests to pick available bounty.

Door locks are digital key pads, so I'll be providing you with code for access. If it is convenient for me I'd be glad to give you a ride from/to airport. I live on other side of town so will not be real near by but always available via phone if needed. I will meet you after arrival at the house, when convenient, to give you some information.

Neighborhood is quiet. Short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, clubs. Lite rail station and bus stops are 2 blocks away.

About Georgia Rose

I'm into promoting and living a sustainable lifestyle, as best I can. I've been enhancing and converting components of this house to become more efficient and sustainable: water permeable cement driveway, LED lighting throughout, H20 distiller, lawn removed & replaced by drought resistant landscape, evaporative coolers, better insulation, and gray water usage. I enjoy growing vegetables, fruits and landscapes that support all creatures.

Georgia Rose purchased this house in 1988

Guestbook comments from the owner

Tom and his family were a friendly and appreciative group. They left the house in the same shape as when they arrived. I hope there is an opportunity to be their host again!

We had a wonderful stay at Georgia's house in Sacramento

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and just as it is presented on the website. There was plenty of room for our multi-generational group to spread out and come together over our 5 night stay and we all slept very well in the comfortable beds. We did not get to meet Georgia as we were both very busy during our stay, but she was very attentive and accessible by text message, and everything in the house was set up so well that we really did not need any extra help!

We enjoyed riding the bikes provided on the nearby American River bike trail, visited the Crocker Art Museum, cooked some very nice family dinners and ate at a local taqueria, Chando's Tacos.

We hope to return same time next year!

Wonderful home and thoughtful host -- a true gem!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a full month while moving to the area. The house was both cozy and spacious enough to comfortably accommodate us, our toddler, and our parents who came to help care for her for two weeks.

Georgia is super thoughtful and responsive, and every detail was provided for -- from laundry detergent and cloth napkins to Georgia specially bringing over a kiddie wading pool for our little one to play in on those triple-digit Sacramento summer days. If anything came up, we just texted her and she responded quickly and took care of it.

The nicely landscaped and well-shaded patio/garden, multiple outdoor seating areas, and outdoor grill enabled true indoor/outdoor living -- even during summer -- which made our stay particularly enjoyable. For others with kids: there is a playground within walking distance, too.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to be host to this family who were appreciative of my efforts and left the property in same condition as it was when they arrived. I'm thankful they were my guests!

A quiet, stylish and lush refuge minutes from downtown

  • 5 of 5

The owner, Georgia, has done a lovely job of creating a home that feels at once stylish, homey and tranquil. Outside, there's an Asian garden sensibility to the place that emanates from the lovely herb garden, curving pathways and bonsai-like assortment of shrubs, trees and wildflowers. Every corner of the property reflects the owner's care and attention to harmonious details. Inside, the home is classy and contemporary but in a comfortable, rather than austere way. I especially love the comfy sitting couch in the master bedroom and the well-appointed kitchen. And the enclosed patio is a wonderful place for morning prayer and meditation -- and coffee, I suppose, although I'm not a coffee drinker. My only regret is that we didn't use the kitchen for anything except breakfast, as daily jaunts took us to Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Muir Woods and down the gorgeous Pacific Coast Highway 1/101 to the classic boardwalk amusement park at Santa Cruz. But it was rewarding to return to the quiet house for a good night's sleep. I don't see how anyone could rent this home and be disappointed.

Comfy, home away from home.

Our group consisted of a group of friends coming from Hawaii to do the California International Marathon which ended in downtown Sacramento. This home was an ideal location. We were minutes from downtown in one direction and a few minutes from suburban shopping in the other direction. Georgia has provided us with a very comfortable house with all the amenities and extras we didn't expect. Being from Hawaii, we were worried about the "cold." This home had personalized heating units throughout the house. Each of us could custom dial in their heating needs. The two full baths were immaculate and and the kitchen was well stocked. We traveled after to Tahoe and stayed in another condo unit that was managed by a hotel chain and within hours we were commenting how we miss Georgia's house. Thank you Georgia for your quick responses and attention to detail. Btw, we snuck into your garden and enjoyed your pink grapefruit, lemons, mandarin oranges, oranges and Hachiya persimmons! All of which we have not seen on trees like that. Mahalo for a wonderful experience.

Comfortable, roomy, well stocked and beautiful.

We flew in for my husbands spine surgery and wanted a a healing house for his recovery before flying home.

This home was just perfect. Very clean and quiet. Exceptionally beautiful garden spaces from every window. The kitchen had everything needed and more. I appreciated the use of the bicycles and the river bike trail so close for some fun and exercise. My husband appreciated the quality t.v's and comfortable bed and furniture.

Georgia, the owner was lovely and very helpful.

If ever in need of another stay in Sacramento we would stay again.
