Overview

About the property

3 bedroom, 3 bath plus hide-a-bed sofa in creek house.

Easy Access - On Jonathan Creek - Tubing - 8 Miles from the slopes - WiFi - Maximum (Gold) Cable Package - No Steep Inclines.

We have a nice home and creek house with many upgrades in a great location within the Town of Maggie Valley. Our home has Central Heat & Air, gas log fireplace, and as of 2015 all new television sets (4), queen size mattresses (3), and carpeting.

You will have splendid views of the Maggie Valley Country Club golf course at the front of the house, and of Jonathan Creek at the rear.

What really sets our home apart is the creek house. Walk down an enclosed passageway to the private serenity of a separate heated creek house complete with new carpeting, a desk and a hide-a-bed sofa. You are sure to enjoy the panoramic view of the rushing creek below.

In winter you can ski or snowboard at the Chataloochee Ski Area only 8 miles away. Not snowing? Don't worry - they make their own.

In warm weather, you can lunch, golf, exercise, swim and hot tub at the nearby country club (call me for rates). And you can walk or bike on the sidewalks and nearby back roads. A scenic side road begins across the street and runs alongside the creek. You can enjoy wading in Jonathan Creek or floating on one of the 56 inch tubes tethered to our deck (children under 12 should be supervised). Be sure to bring your water shoes!

With your security in mind, we have a digital lock system. Guests are given access codes that are good only for their individual visits. No keys are available for duplication. And should any problem arise, your local contacts are readily available.

Sorry, no pets or smoking. And children under 12 should be monitored because of the creek.

* - The creek house is a heated, newly carpeted, hexagonal, concrete gazebo attached to the main house with an enclosed passageway.

A fantastic getaway! Very clean and neat! Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The experience was more than expected. We had several questions regarding local attractions and the owner went over and above to meet my expectations! The house was very neat and cozy. Sitting out by the fire pit at the creekside couldn't have been any better! The overall reservation process was fantastic! This has definitely been added to our list of places to return!

So peaceful & Relaxing Plus handicap accessible!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to this perfect home. Its peaceful, right on the water, close to everything we wanted and handicap accessible. It truly is like our home away from home. There's plenty of space so you don't feel cramped, enough TV's so everyone can watch what they want, and close enough to all the shopping, dining and Cherokee that you don't spend all your time driving. We will be back next year!

A Little Bit of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

July 15 - 22, 2017

How best to describe this lovely home and location. The bubbling creek just steps from the back door, so calming and soothing. This is a diamond in the rough. Spotlessly clean and roomy with a beautiful golf course directly across the street. Nestled in the mountains with plenty of things to do in the immediate vicinity. Take a trip to Cherokee and stop at the Bearmeat Den to purchase Native American crafts. On the way be sure to stop at Soco Falls and the Old Gray Mare produce and gift shop. While in Cherokee make sure you visit the Art Guild and the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Also in close proximity is the town of Waynesville which is quite charming. A must see is the Biltmore Estate and Gardens and don't miss a trip on the Lazoom Comedy Tour to learn about Asheville and have a few laughs. I would also recommend the beautiful Burntshirt Winery in Hendersonville. Allow time during your trip to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and take a pontoon boat trip on Lake Lure. The waterfalls in Pisgah Forest are also wonderful. As you can tell there are many things to do in the area and still have a great home base to come back to at the end of the day. We had a wonderful time and plan to return in the future. One of our very best vacations!!

Perfect get away spot!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The house was clean, had plenty of space, comfy beds and a perfect spot for morning coffee. I can't wait until we can schedule another trip to the house on Jonathan Creek!

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5

We stay at Buddy's place for the 4th time. This time with my mom in law who is 91 years old, my brother in law who was visiting from Lesotho in South Africa , my wife and myself. Needless to say the 3 bedroom plus the attached gazebo is a place to relax plus the deck over looking the water is quiet peaceful. We will definitely will be back again and Buddy's place is very wheelchair accessible since I use a wheelchair plus mom in law using a cane. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us.

Fourth stay at this house

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a three-night stay at the "house on Jonathan Creek." As with our other three previous stays there, our time was fantastic! As I have stated in previous reviews, when we walk into this house, we feel like we are "home." It has become a very familiar and relaxing place for us and we love to spend time there either going on day trips into the mountains or just sitting by the creek. The house is comfortable for us and convenient for our handi-capped daughter because of the adaptive facilities, and Buddy, the owner, is a very gracious and caring man who goes "over and above" to take care of his guests. We hated leaving the house this morning, but as we pulled out of the driveway, we said "We'll be back soon we hope!", and we plan to! Thank you Buddy for making "the house on Jonathan Creek" available to us!
