Overview

About the property

2 bedroom/one bath home in historic part of Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Lovely historic home with two bedrooms and one bath. The house has its old charm with some modern renovations. The house was built in 1912 from beautiful old growth pine. Wood floors are throughout the house. We have a beautiful dining room to entertain or to just enjoy each other. The living room has two comfy Moroccan daybeds to hang out or sleep on. The kitchen is renovated with an artsy mosaic floor and sitting nook. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and closet space with a little room attached that can be an office or sleep a child. The second bedroom has a full sized bed and closet space. The house sleeps six. There are sitting areas in both front and back porches. The backyard is fenced and has a spacious entertaining area with deck, bar, and outdoor dining table. We also have a lush active nursery. Throughout the yard enjoy mango, mulberry, sour orange, papaya, and of course plenty of bananas trees.

About Chana Grafals

We've been living in South Florida most of our lives. We love the weather, the culture, and the community.

Chana Grafals purchased this house in 2010

Why Chana Grafals chose Fort Lauderdale

We love living Downtown for all the conveniences of living near the beach, cultural events, and nearby dining!!!!

What makes this house unique

This house is a historic home built by the family of Fort Lauderdale's first lady mayor. It has the charm of being an old house with some simple upgrades. The dade-county wood floors and 11 foot high ceilings gave it a roomy spacious feel. We fell in love.

Great, funky historic home in a wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

Pleasantly surprised to find this great, funky bungalow style historic home on the western edge of everything Fort Lauderdale has to offer. A very quite neighborhood, yet just minutes to restaurant and the Riverfront. For those that are active, you can access the beachfront with an hour walk, but plenty to see and do along the way. Shauna was a very hospitable and responsive host. I will definitely stay again and recommend to any singles, couples or small families visiting the area.

Loved the location and quaintness of the property. Some up-keep necessary but the accommodations were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property and I would love to stay here again!! Owners were wonderful to work with.

Nice house close to river

  • 4 of 5

House is very convenient for beach, airport and walking distance to river walk. The house was clean and the owners were very attentive. The house is old and needs a few repairs/renovations but suited our needs adequately. Prices are a little high compared to some houses I have rented with more facilities however it is an expensive area to stay so was a lot cheaper than 2 hotel rooms.

Very lovely house!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a great time in this lovely house. It is close to Las Olas street and beach, but it's very quiet at night time. The daybeds in the living room are super comfortable and the artistic decor makes us relaxed. We have almost all the supplies during our stay, and the host kept in touch just in case we need anything, which is very nice. The garden is beautiful that my 1 year old daughter loves so much. I would highly recommend this house.

Charming place

  • 4 of 5

The house itself looks exactly like the photos. It's an older home in a great location. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, museums, etc. the two bedrooms were very comfortable. It's not as child friendly as we needed with two toddlers but we managed ok and they had a good time exploring the garden area. Overall it was very nice.
