About the property

Well Equipped 1 Bedroom In Historic Heart

Bordeaux Golden Triangle apartment is bright and airy, with high ceilings and period details, yet with a contemporary flair. An eclectic collection of precious objects is on display, and the kitchen is equipped for gourmet chefs.

The living area faces a quiet street, and in warm weather you'll enjoy opening the three large French windows onto the Juliette balcony. The bedroom is at the back of the building, so it's quiet and not overlooked. From the bedroom you can see trees and old buildings and a small courtyard below.

This apartment is located in the "Golden Triangle" historic area of Bordeaux, and from here it's only a short walk to the main sights of the city. In the next street, Rue Gallien, are a multitude of excellent restaurants and wonderful specialist shops.

If you are keen to learn French, Alliance Francaise is in the same street as the apartment.

At the top of the road you have a large shopping center called Meriadeck. Also nearby is Place St. Seurin, with restaurants and an organic market every Friday morning.

There is a multiscreen cinema with many films in English, the Grand Theater and Auditorium are also close. The riverside quays are 15 minutes' walk away.

Transport is easily available, with buses from Place Gambetta and the tram from Cours de l'Intendance, just 5 minutes' walk away.

Great location, stylish apartment

  • 5 of 5

We love our stay in Bordeaux the apartment was spacious and very well appointed, our host was very informative and welcoming. Our only issue, we parked our car in the Tourney parking facility as suggested by our host, we prepaid the company for the days we stayed prior to our arrival and departure when we exited we were double charged for excess time, in fact we had left several hours prior to our original arrangement but due to our very limited French we could not resolve the issue and leave the parking lot without the double payment. In the law they call this caveat emptor (buyer beware) if you need to park in the area pay by the day.

Yet if we were to travel to Bordeaux again we would definitely choose this apartment

Owner's Response: I am glad to hear these guests enjoyed their stay at Bordeaux Golden Triangle apartment. We will be happy to have them back! I am sorry, though, to hear about their problems with the parking station. Their original receipt will have had the exit time on it. But perhaps they didn't have it with them, and I understand the difficulties of arguing in another language. Fortunately this is the first time I have heard of problems with the parking, which we have been recommending for some years, so hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Lovely apt in good location.

We enjoyed our stay in Bordeaux and the apartment was well situated and well appointed. Charlotte was a wonderful hostess. If it's very hot however you should know the old buildings don't have any air conditioning. I also recommend that you book wine tours in advance to see as much as possible.

Manhattan, NYC

Light & warm in every way

  • 4 of 5

One could view a map to see how this apartment is close to the Centre yet at enough distance to be quiet at night. So, I'll focus on the experience itself.

The coordination through HomeAway and the local agent, Charlotte, was seamless. My flight to Bordeaux was delayed which I communicated to Charlotte, as I learned updates. I was put at ease and welcomed at the apartment.

The apartment is a modern renovation in an aged building on a classic-looking street in Bordeaux Centre. That means it has modern appeal and amenities while also providing a timeless Bordeaux experience.

I live in NYC and white noise and ambient noise at night is unavoidable. This made the room darkeners outside the window and the respectful silence in both the building and neighborhood friends to the weary traveler. The bedroom is a cocoon for sleep. This gave me immediate rest and energy to enjoy Bordeaux, the Garonde walkway, the Pomerol, and wonderful people.

Thank you, all.
