About Pat & Melissa

We are a married couple 'over 50' Pat works as a Travel Tour operator (Costa Rica), Melissa is a medical professional at a local hospital. We love New Orleans and are excited to share it with visitors. We attend the Jazz Fest every single day, and have for years.

Melissa is from here and Pat came in the late 1970s. We know our city very well.

We fully embrace the quirky culture of New Orleans. We love the local music scene, the festivals, and (most of all) the local food! We are longstanding members of an 'underground' Carnival krewe, and we march in the annual Krewd de Vieux Mardi Gras parade.

We are happy to share our vast knowledge of New Orleans with our guests.

Pat & Melissa purchased this cottage in 1995

Why Pat & Melissa chose New Orleans

Location! MidCity bills itself as 'The Heart of the City'. It is convenient to everything. The Canal Streetcar stop is only 100 yards away. This is one of the safest neighborhoods in the city.

What makes this cottage unique

This rental features a fantastic fully equipped kitchen. Stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. With two supermarkets only two blocks away, you can save a few dollars by making breakfast and lunch at 'home'.

This is a free standing building in the owner's backyard. Lots of privacy and very secure.

Cute and Quiet Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This property was in a wonderful location, not too far from the activities in the city but far enough out that this country girl didn't feel scared to leave her car! (LOL!) Just the right size for two people. My group would have had four and I'm lucky one canceled, because as the property owner warned, it would have been tight. I don't regret sticking with my first choice though, I loved staying at the cute little place tucked away from the street. The yard cat was sweet too.

Great cottage great location!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is not only cute but it's clean and comes with everything you need for a good (dishes, towels etc..). The place was easy to find right off canal street. You can take a street car right into the French market or drive like we did which took less then 10 min. Off street parking was no problem, even on a busy Saturday night we could find parking. It's a small cottage so it's probably best for a couple or small family but you can't beat the location or price.

Great place and people

  • 4 of 5

I lIke this place it's great for a small family (3or4 ppl). The only things I think this place would be even better is if the bed doesn't squeak to much when you change position while sleeping. And if the shower head is stronger water and maybe change it to a shower head that can be removed since the shower is a standing shower(it will be easier to shower). But overall everything was nice. The place is in very good location not to far from everything. Plus Pat is very friendly and he will make sure your stay is comfortable. He also tell you all the good local restaurant near the place. We would totally love to stay here again but if we don't have our little baby or once his a little bit more older.

Clean, comfortable & friendly

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this property was great. Pat was gracious and informative with great tips for touring the city and dining. We felt safe and comfortable at this property. The neighborhood was also nice and close to the Canal Street Streetcar public transportation which we took daily. Loved our stay.

Excellent choice

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. Pat took time to sit with us and give us great options for dining and tips for getting around the city. Everything was available to us as if we were at home. We did run out of coffee and toilet paper on the second day, however; there are convenient shopping marts less than a mile away. Very safe neighborhood with private access. The street trolley is located in close walking distance for easy access to city life. Highly recommend.

1 YR Anniversary Trip

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary trip to NOLA. The place had everything we needed. Pat and Melissa were wonderful to work with. Very responsive to emails leading up to our trip and Pat even offered his personal cell phone if we needed advice on where to eat or what to do. You won't go wrong with Pats recommendations! Convenient location. Easy to get downtown to the heart of the city or to the highway for outside adventures. Clean and comfortable. Home away from home.

Safe Neighborhood. Fantastic location less than 100 yards from the Canal Streetcar line and the City Park spur.

Convenient to City Park & Jazz Fest. Only a short streetcar ride to downtown, the Superdome, and the French Quarter. Walking distance to the annual Bayou Boogaloo festival on Bayou St John.

We have twenty restaurants within a two block walk. Within the same area are a national pharmacy, two major supermarkets, three urgent care offices, two bars, three banks, two day spas, and a dry cleaner.

Additional information about rental rates

Cleaning Fee $75
Extra adults $20 night $0

We feel that the apartment is too small for more than two adults. Kids under 12 are free. Extra adults are $20.00 per night additional.

We are in a soft opening. We are still decorating and have some landscaping to do. But the apartment itself is fully furnished and new renovated. Come to VooDoo Fest, and be our first guests!
