About Joel Butz 920-737-9005 or Debbie Butz 920-217-1304

My wife and I purchased the White Otter Mountain House July, 2014. We are a skiing family at heart and moved to Bozeman Montans from Green Bay Wisconsin over 4 years ago. Debbie and I have 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. It has been a great decision being that we love the mountains in the summer as much as in the winters. We are a skiing family and always will be.

Joel Butz 920-737-9005 or Debbie Butz 920-217-1304 purchased this house in 2014

Why Joel Butz 920-737-9005 or Debbie Butz 920-217-1304 chose Big Sky

We purchased 15 White Otter Rd because it is in an incredible location for summer activities of fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, rafting, zip lining, mountain biking, golfing and more.

But why we specifically wanted 15 White Otter Rd to be our vacation home is because of its incredible location to Big Sky Resort with it world class skiing for all levels of skiers.

What makes this house unique

My wife and I will be available for assistance to make your Big Sky Mountain experience one to remember. Through our travels as we rented VRBO homes, what we thought was a nice touch is that the kitchens were furnished with the essentials like spices, jellies, tea, paper toweling, napkins, coffee filters, etc and guests were welcome to use whatever was available. We hope our guests will feel comfortable 'living' in our home, making it their own for the short time they are here. For coffee drinkers, we have a press pot, a drip coffee maker (with filters provided), and a Keurig coffee maker, (so buy your favorite k-pods)

Beautiful house, perfect for our reunion with my kids and grandkids.

  • 5 of 5

We had plenty of room for everyone to have their space when needed and room for everyone to gather together for meals. We had all our meals at the house, except for sack lunches while we were out sight seeing. The rear deck offered a great view of the mountain. And was a perfect location to grill out one evening. The hot tub looked inviting, but we didn't have time to enjoy it.

Joel was very attentive to our needs and contacting me several times to ensure that I had all of the information that I needed. Answered all of my questions as to where to do the activities that my group wanted to pursue. Could not have asked for an easier person to work with.

House was well furnished - even a bed and high chair for my youngest grandson. And toys for the other kids - legos were a big hit, as you would expect. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of places for everyone to sit our just lounge around. Very comfortable and a great view. Had several deer visit the back yard every evening.

Highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Montana.

Beautiful property, awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome vacation rental for a multi-family ski trip! We had 3 families and the space was perfect for us. Joel's hospitality was awesome and he was available if questions needed to be answered. The view is spectacular and the location was easy to ski out or drive to the base and park. Ski in was more challenging, but only because it's April and the end of the season. The house is stocked with all essentials and Joel was attentive to ensure we were comfortable. We ski Big Sky every year, and we will definitely be back to stay on this property!! Highly recommend this property!

Wonderful house, great owner and a view that is beyond belief

  • 5 of 5

As the group travel leader for my ski club I have dealt with a lot of different people in planning our trips and I have to say that Joel is far above any other in helping me plan the trip. From the first email to meeting him upon arrival he has been an amazing help. The house was spotless and the layout was perfect for our mix of singles and couples. With the large kitchen, dining area and counter space it was easy to have all of us eat together. It isn't often that my group is excited to get off the mountain but with the view from the hot tub several people made it a point to quit a bit early so they could enjoy the view before the everyone got back. I would recommend this house to anyone unless of course you want to stay there when we come back then no it is ours. :-)

Awesome house for multiple families!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for three families - 6 adults and 8 kids. Plenty of space - all families had a private bedroom for the adults (with comfortable beds) and a bathroom for each family as well. Bunk room and lower level family room were perfect for the kids to hang out. The house was very clean and Joel and Debbie have thought of all of the little things to make your stay a home away from home! The kitchen was spacious and well stocked - spices, plastic and paper products and quality cookware and utensil. The garage well equipped for garbage and recycling and they had snowshoes, Yakttrax and walking poles to use. Plenty of shovels for the kids to make ski jumps in the yard as well. Wonderful deck and hot tub to go with the fantastic views of Lone Mountain! We will definitely be back!!

Awesomeness

  • 5 of 5

People make difference! I worked with owner Joel, he was wonderful from inquiring, booking, payment, arriving, and when we departing. One great example, he spent hours on the phone with VRBO team to workout payment issue, as we prefer one lump sum payment rather than 2 separated ones as VRBO only allowed 2 scheduled payments. Another excellent example would be Joel personally greeted us at the door when we arrived, walked us through the house making sure, told us different features and how to operate them, finally even going through Big Sky trail map to make sure we would know to get in/out to slops. Now renting house from VRBO over 12 years, we have never worked with an owner cares so much about his guests – AWESOME!

The house itself is comfortable for 11 of us. We cooked all our meals in a fully stocked kitchen, pantry with all the spices that we need, and all the other essentials such as coffee filters, condiments etc. were available to us. The Livingroom on the main floor was our gathering place throughout the day, watching sunrise and sunset over Lone Peak was our favor. After dinner, all of us loved to gather at the Livingroom having a drink or two, talking about the snow, catching up with each other’s lives, and just laughing. Anyone decided wanting their own space, the house layout allowed us to do so. Sitting in the hot tub looking at Lone Peak helped us to smooth the tired muscle.

The house is a short walk to the lift so it is easily access to Mountain Village in the morning. Returning to the house was a little bit challenge for us, even Joel had walked us through the trail map, it took us couple days to figure out. Boots and gloves dryer was a big hit for us, not to mentioned snowshoes were also available to us as well.

We are calling ourselves, Snow people and we have played together in the snow almost 20 years. We always rent houses from VRBO for the past 12 years for our annual trips to west coast. And, we are all in agreement that this is the best one that we have ever stayed at!!!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us and giving us such an awesome experiences.

Beautiful home with a view to kill for

  • 5 of 5

This home was spacious and fitted our needs perfectly.

It was located right by the "hill" with minimal walking distance.

The owner was prompt and helpful. The place well kept, clean and well stocked.

It was a true gem and we enjoyed it.
