About Keith R. Parris

I am a South Carolinian who grew up in a small mill town with my father, mother, brother, sister and plenty of uncles who hunted, loved to play golf and always had room for me. I participated and lettered in golf in high school. I was fortunate to attend college on academic and AFROTC scholarships and graduated from Clemson University as a Distinguished Military Graduate. I flew fighter aircraft in the Air Force for nearly 8 years, winning Top Gun, 17th Air Force, United States Air Force Europe in 1975. I earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio and worked in the gas and gas liquids industry for more than 20 years. I enjoy golf, writing and painting. My wife grew up alongside 2 older brothers in Texas on the 'Friendly Farm' with parents who earned Ph.Ds in Clinical Psychology and Counseling as they pursued careers with the VA. She earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees from Baylor University and her Ph.D, in Ed. Psych. from Texas A&M University. She worked more than 30 years as a civilian for the Air Force. She has published numerous articles in Kentucky Ancestry Magazine. We are both retired from our careers and enjoy an active lifestyle. We both have our roots in traditional 1950s/1960s families. We have our primary residence in San Antonio, Texas, but maintain close contact with many treasured friends around the country. We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and as my wife's dad sometimes proclaimed, 'That's not long... it just seems long!'

Keith R. Parris purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Keith R. Parris chose Utah

It's simply inspiring, whether touring, participating in seasonal sports or just relaxing . The River View property allows us to enjoy the summer season as we escape the Texas heat and provide a winter vacation getaway for guests.

What makes this townhome unique

This home is open with plenty of light and high ceilings. It overlooks extensive green space and has unmatched views of the Heber Valley, Provo River and Mount Timpanogos. Because of its end location and curving driveway, you enter and depart as if it were a private retreat. It also gave my wife and me an opportunity to furnish it from top to bottom with everything we had dreamed of.

Very nice place A+ ... only one tiny complaint...

  • 5 of 5

The house is gorgeous and the area is great. Hot tub is right across the street. Everything is clean and well maintained. Owners are amazing... they are very helpful and always there when you need them. Super great people. The only... and I mean only complaint is that the house is full of stuff... we had to move things off the counters to be able to cook and dressers and night stands in all the rooms have knick knacks on them. It's well decorated but just a little cluttered thats all. Other than that, zero other issues. We hope to stay here again!

Very nice cabin, but the owners are not that nice

  • 2 of 5

The cabin it's very nice. It's big and it's elegant. We really had a great time. But the owners gave us a hard time from the time we wanted to book the cabin. Online was showing a price, but they charged us more. Even more, upon checkout, they refused to refund us the full amount of the deposit. The worse part is that they monitored us every single day. They have surveillance cameras everywhere, and they even monitored how many time we opened the doors. We found that to be very disturbing and a violation of our privacy.

Owner's Response: My wife and I believe the best response is to thank this renter for including in his review that our home is very nice, big and elegant, and for that we thank him. Beyond that, may I offer these thoughts? Let us consider and perhaps acknowledge that there are people on this still-beautiful planet who at times use and, without prejudice, abuse whatever is within their reach. There are people who consume not only what they have but what they can take, and they leave nothing more than the unwanted parts of their lives behind for others to clean up. They come from and will likely always inhabit a place where truth is fungible. Fact and fiction, regardless of how ill-conceived, are interchangeable with whatever they say, wish others to believe or is convenient or expedient. They have little or no concern for the consequences of their actions or assertions on the lives, or property, of those they have no further interest in. Their comprehension of this world will not allow them to accept that walking into another’s home, no matter what’s been asked or given for the privilege, comes with a responsibility to treasure the invitation. As a point of reference, HomeAway/VRBO handles our listing and all payments and returns. Requests for listing changes are considered but not guaranteed. Holiday and special event prices are listed and never changed after a reservation is approved. No payments are ever made directly to us by a renter or guest. Our home’s security system, installed and monitored by Alarm.com, has one (1) security camera, which renters are informed of and always unplug… and, oh yes, our Samsung Smart TVs are Skype capable and allow video (they have a camera) phone calls unless, like me, you don’t have the time or talent to read and understand Samsung’s instructions.

Comfortable and Functional

  • 5 of 5

Our team (the Craftsbury Green Racing Project) stayed here for over a week and the house was incredibly comfortable and functional. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cookware, and the house was very clean. The owners were responsive, friendly, and helpful. We would certainly stay here again in the future.

Convenient and Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Thanksgiving with our two daughters (6 and 3). We also had my sister, her husband, and two boys there for a few nights. With 4 bedrooms and lots of space, it was perfect. It is well stocked and has everything you could need. Beds are all comfortable and the views are great. Convenient location to Park City and to Heber City. Owners are wonderful to deal with and make sure everything is set up for your stay. It was our second time with them and we would love to come back. Thank you!

Gorgeous views with a great price

  • 5 of 5

We booked this trip to ski the Park City ski areas during the first two weeks of February. While the weather did not bring much new snow, on mountain was still great. This townhouse is about 10 minutes outside Park City, and in the beautiful Heber Valley with views of Mt. Timpanogos and the Provo River. You definitely need a car here, and be okay with using stairs. 13 minutes to PCMR base, 15 to base of Canyons, 6 minutes to the backside Deer Valley gondola. Grocery shopping in Heber City or Park City was a snap, and staying out of the congestion of the Old Town was a plus. You can put 2-3 families here for the price of a single hotel room in town. The kitchen has just about everything you could want, and we fixed nearly all our meals on site, so saved even more. Every bathroom was stocked with full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. they even had band aids and antibiotic ointment just in case. The garage was roomy, and the front entry had a great place to hang coats, stash shoes, boots, hats, mittens, etc. Mattresses were a mix of firm and medium support. Great loft with cushy recliners upstairs for watching TV. Perfect and fast internet connections, with the option of using the onsite PC or connecting with your own laptop, iPad, smartphone, etc. All the furnishings, sheets, towels, etc. were great quality and new condition.

If you are independent and don't mind being away from the middle of town, this is a great option.

Owner's Response: My wife and I are extremely pleased and gratified that the attention and care we've put into our home are appreciated by our guests. From our initial selection of this new, River View property, we wanted the home to be welcoming and comfortable and, yet, to provide a lasting impression of luxury, with nothing missing, nothing out of place. We are thankful that our guests have enjoyed and preserved our beautiful home. We wish to extend an invitation to the wonderful guests we've invited into our home and been privileged to host to remember us and consider us again for their next holiday, vacation, or special outing. Keith and Janet Parris

Wonderful townhome in great location with all the amenities of home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week over Christmas and the townhome was perfect. We had two families of four here and it was the perfect size with four bedrooms and plenty of common area to hang out. The owners had the property in perfect order for us when we arrived and were very responsive when we needed the WIFI code and had trouble with the alarm. The townhome is well stocked with dishes and everything that you could need during your stay. We like to cook our own meals so this really worked out well. The location is perfect for us as my parents live in Heber but we made regular visits to Park City and Salt Lake City. We would absolutely stay there again and this has been one of our best VRBO finds! Thank you very much Keith and Jan for helping make our Christmas great! Happy New Year!

For ancestry enthusiast the Morman Library is in nearby Salt Lake City. The Jordanelle Resevoir is just north of River View and provides opportunities for excellent water activities. Provo, Utah is just south of Riverview with Brigham Young University and is a great day trip as are many of Utah's great State and National Parks such as Arches and Zion. There are also many festivals such as Midway's 'Swiss Days' and, of Course, Park City's 'Sundance Festival.'
