About Luisa

Am self reliant, hardworking, own a couple of small businesses, and am in social work. My friends and family are immensely important to me. Life is short, enjoy yourself, love abundantly.

One of my favorite sayings:

If you want to be loved, be lovable.

If you can talk . . .sing

If you can walk . . .dance

-African proverb

Luisa purchased this studio in 1999

Why Luisa chose Portland

Great place to stay for any length of time. The amount of space is perfect for 2 people. Also, the area is super safe. There is a police satellite office down the street and federal police that patrols the US Veterans Hospital.

Great access to downtown. Can easily take nearby Bus number 8 to downtown or ride the Tram located inside the hospital down to the South Waterfront area and Portland streetcar.

Could be a good property, but needs maintenance

  • 3 of 5

Location was good, basically on OHSU campus and a short drive to downtown. The property is small, but would be adequate for a traveling couple. Unfortunately it had several issues that would suggest that it is strictly a rental unit since they would probably be fixed if someone lived there full time. First, we were given the wrong entry code; The AC unit kept falling out of the window; The hot water worked sporadically; And the dryer would not dry our clothes at all due to a clogged filter which requires disassembly of the unit to clean (which was a big problem for us as we were backpacking before and after our stay and were counting on having clean clothes). Luisa did always respond quickly when we had issues, and she gave us a small refund for the clothes dryer, however we still had to delay our plans since we had to hunt down a laundromat and wait for our clothes after checking out. Hopefully these small items will be fixed and then it would be a fine place to stay.

Perfect OHSU location!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely studio apartment away from home. Very comfortable for me, while my husband was in the hospital, a three minute walk to and from. It looks just like the pictures. Beautiful flowers surround it. A wonderful bistro café across the street. I would stay here again. Luisa was very kind.

Owner's Response: Deb was a wonderful guest, so thoughtful and considerate in her communications. You could not be luckier than to have her as your guest. Luisa

So convenient to OSHU and Quick to Downtown

  • 4 of 5

We felt right at home in this apartment. The drive up the hill feels like you are in the middle of the Northwest rainforest, but it is only about six minutes from downtown. There is a new Bistro that has just opened right across the street where we enjoyed several good meals. It would be incredibly convenient if someone where needing to be close to OHSU.

Perfect Little Studio Near OHSU Campus and Downtown!

  • 5 of 5

This wonderfully small studio was perfect for our 3 night stay, had exactly what we needed which was a bed and a shower, close to the OHSU campus and downtown. The bus stop was a 3-5 minute walk. At check in Louisa left a folder with a map of the city and great suggestions for places to eat and night life. Parking was not a problem, a parking permit was provided for it. The area, although being on the hill above the hospital, was very quiet and felt safe. Will be staying there if we come visit OHSU again. Louisa is a wonderful host. The pictures are very accurate and it is clean.

Ideal location for OHSU

  • 4 of 5

Ideal location and accommodations for family members of patients at the hospital(s). Four star rating based primarily on location, value and parking. The apartment was clean, fully functional, well supplied and met our expectations. It needs cosmetic improvements and maintenance. Host was responsive and helpful.

A quiet, comfortable space very convenient to downtown Portland

  • 5 of 5

This studio provided us with a comfortable space to stay, very close to downtown Portland but in a quiet, scenic area. The studio is across the street from a large hospital complex, which might sound like a busy spot, but it really was not. We found it to be very quiet. It is very easy to get to the downtown Portland area - a short walk to the bus and a 10 minute trip to Pioneer Square. Restaurants, museums and theaters are easily accessible. We also visited friends in Beaverton and McMinnville, and this was easily done because we were on the right side of the river. The area where the studio is located also has a great view of the city, and there is a tram that is worth taking for the view. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen and shower are fine. Parking was not a problem for us, it was always pretty full but there was always a space or two. All of in all, this is a great value.
