I have a private, quiet & elegantly furnished luxurious guest/suite. It is large, loft like and as comfortable as home. It is a perfect spot for everything you need and anywhere you want to go in Santa Monica. It a safe, quiet and in very convenient area. And my place is licensed by the city for short term rentals (which are otherwise not legal in Santa Monica) and I comply with all local laws.
One recent guest, best described it as... "it feels like being at a hotel but also at a friend's or family's house". Another experienced VRBO'er shared..."it was better than expected and the nicest we ever stayed in...it had everything we needed to be comfortable"!
Walk to everything - no need for a car -- Great restaurants, Beach, The Santa Monica Pier, The Promenade, 3rd Street, Venice, Main Street, Farmers Markets, "locals only" new Wilshire Boulevard great restaurant options, Montana Blvd., Broad Theatre/Stage, UCLA Hospital - Everything is easy by walking, biking or taking an UBER/Taxi or Bus!....

What makes this Guest House unique
I have a license to rent short term and long term. This is a requirement in Santa Monica. While not the lowest cost, I provide the best amenities and a value for the money that few else can deliver. Read the reviews! They are objective and real and all 5 star. If you are like me, I am picky about where I would stay and maintain that standard for my guests!

Great apartment and location
Scott's place was perfect for me, my wife, and son. Scott has thought of everything and is easily accessible by text message. We were very comfortable in the apartment and loved having access to bicycles, though the area is very walkable also.
Fantastic location and exceptional hospitality
Our family of four spent four nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Scott was a great host and the quiet location was nearby to great dining, shopping and local amenities. We used the bikes everyday and our kids really enjoyed interacting with the hosts' dogs. The carparking options were really handy and the special little touches and tastes of local specialties provided by Scott were a real treat. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to Santa Monica and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for space and comfort
Great California getaway
Great location - not far from promenade, beach, or access to highways. Hosts could not have been more helpful; and loved the restaurants they recommended. (My teenagers still say in-n-out is better than HiHo, sorry) Thanks again!
Spoiled in Santa Monica!
We loved our stay at Scott and Randi's. The location was wonderful, parking was easy, there were bikes and scooters to use, and we found delicious treats on our doorstep. We would return in a heartbeat.
I cannot say enough good things about this property. We absolutely loved our stay in Santa Monica. Scott is a very hospitable host and made us feel very welcome, we will definitely be back.
This was our first time using Home Away, and the experience was perfect! We had a wonderful time staying at Scott and Randi’s property. Their home is lovely - warm and welcoming with just the right amount of personal touches. The pictures that are on the Home Away site are definitely accurate and the home is even nicer in person because all the furniture is super comfortable. The property is also super clean.
Scott is a wonderful and gracious host who is happy to provide great suggestions - and there is a fantastic reference sheet that lays out all sorts of recommendations – we tried many and enjoyed them all. They've really thought of everything, from bathrobes to extra toothbrushes to bicycles to reading glasses to wine - and a bowl of delicious fruit and the daily treats others have mentioned. The strawberries were amazing. Too many thoughtful touches to name them all!
The street is quiet and peaceful but minutes away from great places to eat and shop in Santa Monica – it’s a very walkable location. There is plenty of on street parking (with a pass that Scott leaves) and if that is full there is off street parking (but we always found a spot on the street). Scott also notes on his site (under “see more about Scott” and in the pictures) that his place is fully licensed for short and long term rentals.
The kitchen is really well laid out and stocked with cooking essentials, condiments and spices and there are markets in easy walking distance. We were happy to have such a functional kitchen since we wanted the option of cooking at home as well as eating out.
For those that have to stay 'plugged in' I should note that the internet works really well; even when 5 of us were logged in we had great speed.
We would definitely stay at Scott and Randi’s for future trips to Santa Monica!

Stays of 31+ nights require a signed single tenant lodger lease agreement under the California Civil Code. Local Taxes are not collected for stays of 31+ nights. Other fees apply. Any and all bookings require that a copy of government issued photo identification be provided prior to and at arrival.
