What A Great Cabin With A View!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here 9/16-18 to decompress after our wedding. We both wished we had booked it for longer and we certainly plan to return. The drive up is a little hairy (2016 Honda Accord) but once we figured out that we needed to turn off the anti-skid on the car we went up without an issue. But if you are staying here, you probably won't want to make the trip up and down very often. Pretty sure I wouldn't want to do the drive in the dark. We stopped at Ingles on the way in and bought the food and drink that we needed.

Please listen to the owner (Tom) when he gives you directions to the cabin and how to drive the road-best advice ever.

The cabin-altho there is a house that we passed on the way up-is very secluded. We never heard or saw any neighbors.

The cabin is beautiful and very well appointed. VERY CLEAN as well! The only thing we didn't think to take was aluminum foil. Also be aware that you need to take some hand soap for both bathrooms and the kitchen sink as well as some dish washing liquid.

The water flow in the upstairs sink is just a trickle (no biggie) but the water pressure in the shower is fine. The bedroom we used was very comfortable as well. The view from the loft is stunning!

Linens were all comfortable and towels were furnished as well. We also loved the gas fireplace!

Again, as I mentioned above, the cabin is absolutely gorgeous, But it doesn't begin to compare with the amazing view you have from the deck. (You have an great view from inside too!) Be sure to catch the sunrise every morning. The deck has two tables (one rectangular 4 top and one round pub style each with four chairs) a gas grill and a hot tub (Chaise lounge is placed near hot tub). Covered deck over the grill area and on the other side of the deck with the hot tub.

We spent most of our time out on the deck. The view is ever changing and it is so peaceful! The bird feeders were stocked and we had so many amazing birds including a large number of hummingbirds that visited. The only sounds we heard were nature! Altho one four-wheeler went up the road and back down on Sunday and one car went down the road on Monday-morning we couldn't see either of them from the deck and the noise was very minimal. We only saw 2 airplanes and they were at such an altitude we couldn't hear them.

If you are in doubt about booking this cabin, please just do it! You will not regret it!

Beautiful home with spectacular view!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful home with a spectacular view! Pictures don't do it justice! Beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Very clean. Drive up was scary with the gravel, steep, winding roads. Definitely need an SUV or 4 wheel drive. There's no way my car would've made it up. Cellphone service is spotty so don't rely on that GPS for directions. Good thing we had our Garmin GPS with us otherwise we wouldn't have found it. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with kitchen supppiles but do bring some essentials like hand soap, dish soap, sandwich bags with you. Very remote and private. We only saw 2 cars the whole time we were there.

Very peaceful place to unplug and unwind. Don't miss the sunrise. Absolutely breathtaking!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE/ BREATHTAKING

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is described exactly. After your trek up the mountain and you pull up in front your 1st thoughts are wow what a beautiful place. Now when you open the Front door and the view hit's you it's BREATHTAKING.Everything in this cabin is the Finest. This was a surprise for my better half & when. She walked in an saw the view & how beautifully decorated & appointed everything was she was speechless.OH YES LETMe take this opportunity to thank the owner who helped me keep this a secret.Mr.Kastner is unbelievable he worked with me and helped me keep it a surprise.I can never Thank him enough. Now the cabin the kitchen is setup like every woman's dream again the Finest of everything you need to cook any thing you choose. Now on to the Great Room & I mean Great as you enter your greeted by the view the back wall facing south east is mostly glass with a beautiful glass sliding door out to a deck you've only dreamed of or maybe have seen in a movie. The deck is massive encompassing 3/4 the way around the back of the cabin. The deck is setup with a wonderful 4 person JACUZZI it's covered and completely ready for you & it's outside but covered so whatever the weather your golden. Wait there's more now on the center of the Deck is a wrought iron high top table with four wonderfully padded chairs to have cocktails breakfast or just sit out there and look out at God's creation.Theres more now we're moving around to the was side of the Deck there's an enormous propane gas grill that's AWSOME so easy to cook on because it's fueled by the propane that takes care of the kitchen stove. Next to the grill is a very nice table to sit & eat or enjoy your cocktails while you cook.& There's a sliding glass door that's right off the kitchen leave it open & you can talk to anyone in the kitchen plus Your only a few steps away from anything from the kitchen you might want.Back to the Great Room it has a gas log FIRE PLACE that's not Fake looking when lit & on cool evenings if you turn it to high it's Spectacularly beautiful & really puts heat out you have to crack the door open. You can relax in the big tan Lazy Boy Recliner or next to the fire place is a wonderful air chair with Ottoman all while looking out of the glass Wall overlooking the world it's Truly Amazing.Ok let's go up the Beautiful rounded STAIRCASE that takes up to the Loft bedrooms with full bath in center between the two bedrooms.ALL WE CAN SAY IS THANK YOU MR.KASTNER.FOR THINKING OF EVERY DETAILS.

INCREDIBLE!

  • 5 of 5

The gravel road up the mountain is rough but don't let that stop you! The home is fabulous and extremely well kept and the view off of the back deck is a piece of Heaven. The PERFECT, getaway retreat where you can just veg-out and totally relax in/ with nature.

A beautiful view of the mountains!

  • 4 of 5

A well maintained cabin with many amenities. Very isolated and a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A good get-away although pretty isolated and challenging climb to the top.
