Spectacular view and a very comfortable cabin
The owner gave great directions. 4 Wheel drive a must, but worth the drive after stepping inside the cabin and seeing the view. Once you are there you will stay at the cabin until the end of your stay. Plan accordingly. Very private and nice to hear the stream vs city noise. Don't miss the sunrise. Cabin is well maintained.
Dancing Bears at its best.
The home was very nice. We loved the kitchen and being able to go directly out on the deck to grill. The bedrooms were so cute, the pictures did not do them justice. I think I would take more pictures of the bedrooms to give a more positive impression. The drive up to the cabin was quite a drive, thankful we had the 4wheel drive to make the trip. We loved the hot tub but could not find the radio. We were there in April but there were still some Christmas decorations around. But the view was fantastic and the cabin very clean. Thanks for sharing the cabin with us!
Beautiful views. Great host.
Amazing cabin with great views. Tom, the owner, recommended viewing the sunrise from the deck at 7 AM. So glad we did! Very peaceful and tranquil. Well stocked kitchen. We can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful cabin and views; need 4WD
We had a beautiful weekend in Lake Lure area. The cabin was wonderful with everything you would need. The views were great. However the roads getting to the cabin are in very bad shape. The neighbors shared that they had a lot of much needed rain but it washed much of the gravel away so you need 4WD or at least AWD. We did not have either so ended up parking on the side of the road and walking the last 1/2 mile to the cabin. So the hot tub was a welcomed reward! Still enjoyed it. Just want others to be prepared. Well worth it with the right vehicle.
Impossible to get to, nothing close by, but gorgeous views
I have been to the mountains a couple dozen times and have stayed in many cabins in the Gatlinburg and Asheville area. I tried this place out because I wanted to try a new area. I drive a front wheel drive car with plenty of power and have never had trouble with it in the mountains.... until now.
This place is VERY difficult to reach without a 4x4 vehicle. Many roads are dirt and gravel. The last stretch was partially washed out and had a large patch of loose dirt and sand that we could not drive thru, not to mention it was at a STEEP grade. We ended up getting stuck and having to call for a tow. Luckily we have triple A, but we had to wait for hours to get someone to come out. Meanwhile it was nighttime in bear country. So, not feeling very safe. There was a nearby cabin that was inhabited but the owner of our cabin said not to bother them because they refuse to help anyone up the mountain anymore... so there have been others who have gotten stuck in the same exact spot apparently. Just sayin. The tow truck driver told us he had helped others out of the same spot. He noted the spot where we got stuck had gravel at one time, but it has since washed away.
The view is absolutely beautiful. The cabin is very well maintained and clean. There is only one shower and the beds are small, so it is big enough for 4 people realistically, but just barely. I think there is another room but it is locked up to visitors.
The hot tub was great and in good condition.
Once in the cabin you are going to stay there because it takes 40 minutes to get there from anything close by.
