Very nice place.
The property was as good if not better than what we expected.
Only 4 coffee mugs. Not enough toilet paper. We forced to BUY our own. Had to buy paper towels.
The resort itself is very nice and well maintained. The snorkeling and fishing trips arranged through activity office were spectacular! Great guides. Wonderful people.
Great ambiance, charm & local vibe right on the ocean
Our crew agreed we would certainly go back. The condo itself had great charm, nice air conditioning, the crystal clear sea water, beautiful pools, lots of areas to explore in neighboring properties. The service on the property was great in some ways and lacking in others. No one really came around and waited on you at the pool to refill drinks or offer a menu. They could have sold quite a bit more from our crew. The ocean water temperature was amazingly beautiful in contrast to the pool water which was pretty chilly. The look and feel of the condo is awesome, the main downside is the condo itself has an odor when you come in, likely due to the water. First impressions were not great with our crew. A simple fix would be some air fresheners. Would have been nice to have a water just included so it was there to start the trip. We didn’t expect to not have water. There isn’t much of a nightlife at the resort, but if you have a cart, it’s easy to find and it doesn’t look like there were resorts that have a nightlife on the island, it’s all at the clubs. This is a good family resort.
Some great places we ate that we’d certainly recommend are Caliente’s on Thursday evenings before the chicken drop next door. We all loved the Truck Stop and The Dive Bar. Both have entertainment, games and lots of character and good food. The Sandbar was cool, but the service was not great. We heard at Palapas you could sit in the Water on tubes and they would lower beers down to you in buckets. That would have been fun.
The ferry got long to go back and forth to the mainland, especially after a long day traveling. Next time I’d Probably fly.
Lisa was super helpful and informative. She responded with answers to all our questions.
I would recommend booking your tours through Scuba Steve. We did Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan tour with Steve and his son Eugene. His wife Jackie then set us up with a great price on mainland tours compared to anyone else with knowledgeable and experienced tour guides. Even the staff at Captain Morgan’s said, if you can do cave tubing and Altun Ha Mayan ruins for that price, i’d Go with them. Jackie set everything up and coordinated with Charlie’s cave Tubing and included the ferry or flight if you choose, refreshments and a great meal.
Best Vacation Ever!
Beautiful place. Awesome people. Would go back in a heartbeat!!!
Captain Morgan get away for family and friends.
My trip as a whole was Great Starting with Lisa who gave us some tips to do before arriving at the resort. We were able to buy liquor at the Duty Free which saved us Money!! I highly recommend that... Everyone at the resort were so helpful and nice. Our Condo was Great and very clean!!! There was one TV missing in one of the bedrooms and the TV in the main room would not turn on.. But they had it fix the next Day. The pool area was right outside our room we could see it and the Ocean from our Balcony. The food at the resort was very very good! We took long walks on the Beach. We went to eat at the Rain , La Palapa , Estellas and several other restaurants all of them we enjoyed. We went Zip Lining , Cave tubing and Snorkling, we swam with the Nurse Sharks... All of them were Fun!!! We had a Blast the trip was one of our Best it also had to do with our Group we all got along Great! Both Pool Bars had Great Bar Tenders ...
The only Bad thing is the Sand Flies and Mosquitos ...The can be relentless!!! We were told to bring Off with Deet... and while we were there they told us to use Baby Oil First then the Off. We all got our share of bites but my Husband was the worst he had to go to the Dr when we got back to get an antibiotic he developed a infection from the bites.
But all in all it was Beautiful !!! I would stay there again!!!
The resort offers a Belizean Culture Night, cerviche class, and other activities.
