Kitchen features warm cherry cabinetry with Sub Zero refrigerator, Thermador gas burners and double ovens – more than enough firepower for any lobster broil.
Main House has a comfortable three seasons screened room that is ideal for relaxing or watching television.
The Main House and Guest Cottage are equipped with Time Warner Cable, whole house DVR, with flat screen televisions (Sony Bravia) located in the Main House, sun room, family room, guest room and master bedroom as well as in the Guest Cottage.
The Main House also features Time Warner’s fastest wireless internet service and wireless is accessible throughout house and guest cottage. The Main House is equipped with a wireless Air Print-enabled printer that allows printing from laptops or directly from Apple devices.
In the Main House the bedrooms are arranged as follows:
- Master Bedroom with King size bed, walk-in closet, full bathroom and flat screen television
- Guest Bedroom with King size bed, with full bathroom (w/tub) adjacent in hallway
- Guest Bedroom with two full sized beds, en suite bathroom (shower) and flat screen television
- Bonus Room Bedroom Size 20x20 with crib and aerobed. Perfect for children as it is connected to the master bedroom and is accessible either through master closet or the garage stair.
The property also has a separate Guest Cottage that has:
- a pull out sofa with a small kitchen area, a full bathroom (shower) and flat screen television;
- a loft space with two single beds; and
- a porch with seating area
We fell in love with Kennebunkport and find it to be a fantastic place to create memories with children or adults. This house gives you the comforts of home with the proximity to all that the town has to offer.
It just doesn't get any closer to town than this historic renovated home with unique separate guest cottage for ultimate privacy. Walk to dinner every night. Grab some ice cream. Take a carriage ride through the historic town. All of these amenities are just steps away.
We spent a week at this beautiful home getting ready for my nieces wedding The House is minutes walk to town which made shopping and dining so easy. Yet when you were at the house there was no noise! It had just gotten new porch furniture which was very comfortable for all to gather. several days of our stay were over 90 degrees so Having it fully air condition made for very comfortable sleeping. The owners were very accommodating. Could not have been happier with the whole experience.
We stayed at the Bourne house for 4 days with our family plenty of rooms, very clean and up to dated kitchen appliances. Best is the location you don't need to worry about parking at the center because you can walk to the center. Air condition was excellent and loved hanging out in the screened in porch w large tv. Rachel was very accommodating and emailed us right away responding to our questions. (They also have a crib) we rented Thursday to a Monday only 4day rental so we got no traffic at all (most rentals only do a full week Saturday to Saturday) which u will get a lot of traffic coming from mass.
We had a great stay at the John Bourne House. The house was built in the early 1800s, but is completely updated with all the modern luxury conveniences... including a subzero refrigerator and all new kitchen appliances, Wifi, full size washer and dryer, TVs and cable in many rooms, and more. The owner also provided brand new bed linens and towels and the beds were very comfortable. The house has many areas to hang out in, but we spent most of our time on the enclosed porch. There is a guest cottage on the property that our kids stayed in, which they loved. The house is incredibly convenient to town - our kids could easily explore town on their bicycles and scooters. The owner was very responsive. We would definitely come back for a return visit and definitely recommend this house.
We stayed at this lovely home for a family vacation recently. It was an absolutely perfect and relaxing stay. Rachel was so helpful and accessible before, during, and after our stay. The house has all the charm and character of a historic home, but with an open spacious feel and a modern kitchen which was fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. Everything was so well thought out, down to the basket of beach towels downstairs ready for your excusions. The beds were super-comfy and there are plenty of bathrooms, along with a washer and dryer in the master bathroom. We loved hanging out on the large screened-in porch after a day at the beach. The location could not be more convenient - shops and restaurants are just a SHORT walk away. It was very easy to find a place to eat whether we were in the mood for an upscale dinner or a casual meal. We lost count of how many lobster rolls we had during the week (the Clam Shack was a favorite)! My kids became addicted to Roma's, the authentic pizza-by-the-slice place around the corner and got to know the friendly owner/chef.
We would love to come back and would not hesitate to recommend the John Bourne House to friends and family!
The heart of the town of Kennebunkport is Dock Square, 1 block from the house. Marinas, The Jetty and Colony Beach are located a short stroll along Ocean Avenue. David's Restaurant and Bar is half a block from the house. The Village Green, Fishing Charters, Schooner Ship Cruises, Power Boat and Kayak Rentals, Dining, Shopping, Art Galleries and of course the Horse and Carriage Rides are also all 1 block from the house.
