Waterfront Home In Plain - Rumann River House

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms; beds for 6, additional 4 allowed

Our home is the perfect place to decompress. The property is about 112' x 300' on the Wenatchee River at road end surrounded by forest service land, on the edge of wilderness. Our waterfront is shielded from the main current by a rock island. Except for high water, it is perfect for children. Four distinct seasons provide oodles of natural beauty yet we are civilized enough to be thoroughly comfortable. Our fully stocked kitchen and great room comfortably handle up to 10 people. We have a queen bed in the master. The master bath has an air tub. Two bedrooms downstairs have a double and twin, and a queen and twin, each with their own sinks. The main bathroom's toilet tub/shower and sink have their own rooms. Between these and 100 gallons of hot water there are never bathroom wars in our home. There is a large loft with TV, wood stove, sun room, and covered entries. Multiple flower and vegetable gardens fill the property. The front and rear of the house have large lawns and a lovely river view.

About Cynthia Rumann

We left the city to raise four children in a small town. They have flown and we have college loans to pay off. When you visit we go out of town or discreetly occupy the garage apartment. You might see us tending our gardens or blowing snow.

Cynthia Rumann purchased this house in 1994

Why Cynthia Rumann chose North Central Cascades

One visitor named our property Rivendell, from Lord of the Rings. We agree and pinch ourselves often to be sure it isn't a dream.

What makes this house unique

Amazing Properties and Great Holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great New Year holiday in the Rumann River House. House is very beautiful. It has all what you need. You can find in the very well-equipped kitchen everything. There are comfortable living room, bedrooms and dinning. A lot of snow in the yard. Nature is so beautiful! House is in the great location. Worth visiting again!!!

Beautiful Home and Property

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I (group of 7 in our mid-late 20's) rented The Rumann River House for my birthday weekend/Oktoberfest. Let me just say, the pictures do not do this home justice. It is beautifully crafted. We walked in and were in awe. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway on a river, this is your spot. If you're enthusiastic about cooking and entertaining, this is your spot. Their kitchen was absolutely phenomenal and was stocked with everything you could ever need.

I will say we were a little hesitant when we read that the owners would be staying in a detached garage on the property, and were briefly even more concerned when we pulled up and discovered the detached garage was literally steps away from the front door of the home. But Cindi and Roger were great hosts. Upon arrival, Cindi gave us a tour and let us know they were available if we needed anything. Oktoberfest was on a rainy dreary day, and upon returning we found that Roger had built us a fire in the wood stove. The home was warm and cozy! With that, if you're looking for something super secluded and private, it's probably not the place for you (there are also neighbors nearby - their dogs came to visit us at the backdoor while we were BBQing and we loved it :)). If you enjoy friendly and inviting hosts, it will suit you just fine.

River get away

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, natural neighborhood, this is country gentleman living at its finest. Magnificent piece of property with beautifully maintained garden areas. The chickens and ducks provide a bit of ambiance that totally fits the setting. The house is finely maintained with too many custom crafted features to mention. It all works wonderfully together.

A unique, contemporary mansion nestled between the trees on the Wenatchee River

  • 5 of 5

We had been here before we booked just to give a sense of the space. Our focus wasn't on the house at first, but as we explored we knew we had just discovered a gem. The yard is very well kept, with the biggest trimmed grass lawn I've ever been on. It stretched all the way to the river. We had the most beautiful wedding of around 40 people, live music with the piano and a saxophone. It was just an awesome experience and the hosts are a really fantastic couple.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Rumann River House was the perfect place for our multi-generational family gathering. There was space for everyone inside the house and we enjoyed outdoor activities just outside the door. We made snowmen while admiring the river—and Leavenworth is not far away if you are looking for some schnitzel. In the evening, we took turns cooking in the very well-equipped kitchen that features a large island so that other family members can sit and talk nearby. Let me add that Cindi and Roger live next door when their house is occupied but they respect the privacy of their guests. They graciously offered advice and help only when we sought them out.

Great Hosts and amazing property!

  • 5 of 5

Where do I start about the Rumann house? Roger and Cindi, would probably be best, as they were amazing hosts. There were very gracious and engaging without being intrusive. We loved talking with them about their property and the history of the Rumann house.

We had a great time with our group of friends and kids. We had kids from 3 years old to 15 and they all had so many things to do on the property that they rarely turned the T.V. on. From holding the chickens, to finding frogs in the gardens, all of the kids were on a nonstop adventure around the property. They had so much fun that poor Sierra starting crying when we had to leave.

Us adults were blown away with the beauty of the house, built by Roger. What an amazing house with lots of space for all of us to gather. We spent most of the weekend just sitting at the table talking and catching up as the kids ran around. The house is at the end of a long road that runs along the Wenatchee river. We really felt safe and secluded, while not being more than 20 minutes from Leavenworth. This house is a perfect location to launch your adventure. We will be back again and again.
