We were only here 2 nights but we enjoyed it. Glad we had hired a car though as it would have been tricky with public transport. Great to have wifi, but it was very slow for my teenagers. Overall lovely :)
Owners were very warm and the house a comfortable, quiet location very close to Monterosso. We enjoyed the visit immensely.
The pros for Momolandia are that the grounds and apartment are very well cared for. The place is very clean, and great care has been taken with decor and you can feel that the place is very thoughtful.
However we were surprised by how far we were from Cinque Terra. The GPS, when we got in the car, to go to Monterosso said 31 minutes. I had gotten the impression from the hosts and reviews that it was about half that distance. The roads are not confusing, but they are very curvey. We actually thought about forgoing our cost and finding a new place much closer to Cinque Terra, but in the end decided to just tough it out (we were three women traveling with two very young children). We did end up leaving a night early.
Another con was the smell upon entering the property. There were some glade type fresheners with the smell of incense that were incredibly intense and did not match the rustic Italian countryside beauty. The smell was so strong that we could smell it on the kids while we were down in Cinque Terra for the day. We removed the fresheners, and after about 24 hours with the windows open the smell was mostly gone.
The last thing that we were surprised by were the beds, the upstairs loft was very hot, and almost impossible to use if you wanted to feel safe coming down during the night to use the bathroom. Needless to say we pulled a mattress down the ladder and made a bed on the floor next to the sofa bed.
Nice and helpful owners
We had picked this "farm" to get a feel of the Italian countryside. There was some things we really liked about the property and some not so much. The beds were not comfortable (all the beds on the main floor were hide a bed types) mattresses were not comfortable and had the feeling of being old and musty. The two twin beds upstairs were not used as we felt it might be too dangerous for any of us to go up and down in the middle of the night. It was pretty warm up there as well. The sheets and towels were clean and the only bathroom was updated, and clean. The kitchen "eat in" area was well thought out and adorable. There were six of us and there were only five coffee mugs; we loved using the Italian coffee pots they provided. We did get lost getting to their place and the home owners were wonderful working with us to navigate the countryside back to their home. The experience is part of the journey.
Thank you for your review and thank you for the appreciation of us, as nice and helpful owners.
We are sorry to know that you gave us two stars only, even if the positive feelings you had of the structure exceed the negative ones.... considering that our mattresses are brand new ones, we think there is no point to say that you had the feeling of "old and musty"....
The kitchen is fully equipped of every useful appliances and also of coffee, tea, jam, biscuits, spices, extra virgin oil, vinegar and every tool for cooking. You did not mention that, but only that a coffee cup was missing! It is plenty of mugs, glasses, dishes, cuttlery etc. This is not polite and incorrect from your side.
Super quaint & Cute!
Very warm reception from the owners, very comfortable accommodation in a serene and quiet location.
Family with young Children stay in July 2016
We visited the farm for one evening in July 2016 and are a family of 6 with 4 kids ranging from 9 to 15. As soon as we got there we knew we had made a mistake, and that was staying only one night! The accommodation is fantastic and amply big enough for us and well equipped. The grounds are fantastic to explore and the location so peaceful that it would be easy just to spend the whole visit at the farm! Mauro, the owner, was very helpful with tips of things to do in the local area and showing us around the farm. Overall, an absolute must for anyone wanting to stay in the region, away from the touristy places. We hope to come back for longer.
