PURE MICHIGAN! Beach front living at The Homestead Resort! UPDATED, FRESH and NEW Improvements include all new appliances, new carpet, new paint, new artwork throughout and new Pottery Barn bunk beds. Recently updated the living room tv to a flat screen Smart HD TV.
Come see why this location was 'Voted the 'Most Beautiful Place in America'. Enjoy the sunset views from your private deck overlooking Sleeping Bear Bay with views of the dunes and Manitou Islands. Even the master suite has a private balcony with sliders overlooking the lake - FALL ASLEEP TO THE SOUND OF THE WAVES! Our condo is located in the very small and secluded Beach Walk association of The Homestead Resort. The Crystal River runs along the parking lot - a great spot for the kids to fish, build forts, or to launch your kayaks/paddle boards and head out to Lake Michigan. See if you can find the hidden playground in the woods!
Our condo is 1100 sq ft with vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling sliders leading out to the deck and those breath taking views. There are two enclosed bedrooms (no lofts). Unlike most condo's at The Homestead, our unit has a lakeside master suite, a fireplace, and a new KING size pillow top mattress. The oversized master bathroom has a two person jacuzzi tub as well as a separate shower. The large second bedroom features vaulted ceilings, a queen bed as well as bunk beds. Second bath features a tub/shower combo.
Kitchen faces the lake and has every gadget, utensil, pot or pan you could need! Washer and Dryer in unit. Flat screen TV in Master Bedroom is ready for you to bring your own HDMI cable for an apple TV or similar set-up. Xbox One with games for the kids. There is no AC/Central Air condition. We do have box fans and ceiling fans. Open up the backsliders/window and there is usually a nice cross breeze from the lake.
FREE WIFI and Cable
The association grill (no grilling is allowed on decks) is located next to the parking lot (overlooking the beautiful Crystal River). Our unit is on the top floor, the third level (two flights of stairs) - top floor views are the most breathtaking and you don't have to worry about noise from overhead.
Walk along the beach into Glen Arbor for ice cream or dinner, hike, snowshoe or cross country ski into the Sleeping Bear Dunes, or grab your bike and bike along the new Heritage Bike trail. We are truly in the heart of all there is to do!
SATURDAY to SATURDAY rentals only during the peak summer season (last full week of June, all of July and August). During the peak season we will only accept full week rentals. You must be at least 25 years old to rent. Like all private rentals at the Homestead, there are NO HOMESTEAD BEACH CLUB PRIVILEGES.

About Joel and Melissa Mitchell
We live in Grand Rapids, MI. We have three young boys and together we love to spend time outdoors hiking, biking, and swimming. Melissa is a licensed Realtor, but really she just loves to run! She's found some pretty amazing running trails that can be reached right from the condo's front steps - if you would like to know how to find them, please ask! We are also wine enthusiasts (we don't really know what we're doing! we just like to drink wine!) we are having fun exploring all the different wineries in Leelanau county. If you find a favorite, please share! The time spent together as family in Northern Michigan is priceless, we are happy that we can share the same opportunity with you.
Joel and Melissa Mitchell purchased this Condo in 2014
Why Joel and Melissa Mitchell chose Leelanau County
We chose our condo because it is one of only a handful of units that are 'new' on the beach. Our unit was re-built in 1996 and was updated in 2013 with new paint and carpet, kitchen was updated in 2014 with all new stainless steel appliances. We continue to make upgrades and improvements each year. The family room and bedrooms have cathedral ceilings with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that make the unit light, bright, and airy! Our unit also has a beach side Master Suite - also pretty unique to The Homestead as most master's face the parking lot. We are also one of only a handful of units that has forced air for heat (sorry, no AC but the lake breezes cool us off in the evening and we have fans). Unique to our location, the Crystal River runs along the parking lot with a bridge and lighted path that connects us to the rest of all The Homestead has to offer. With the river directly behind us and Lake Michigan right in front of us, nature's beauty is endless!
What makes this Condo unique
We fell in love with Glen Arbor about 14 years ago when we were at The Homestead for a wedding. The natural beauty of the area along with the quaint town and easy access to all that the area has to offer kept bringing us back. We look forward to our trips up north, to 'getting away' to a slower pace, to a simpler way of living and spending time as a family - exploring new hikes in Sleeping Bear, evening walks along the beach, walking into town for ice cream or a cocktail, biking the Heritage Trail, fishing, and swimming, the endless searches for Petoskey stones, playing board games in the evening. Winter offers fun as well! The National park offers free snow shoe hikes on the weekends, skiing at The Homestead, ice skating, and cross country skiing (rentals at Crystal River Outfitters and The Homestead) to name just a few fun things. And of course the two person jacuzzi tub and two wood burning fireplaces to warm you back up when you come in from the cold. We do have free Wi-Fi and HD cable tv.

The condo was great! Beautiful view and close to downtown Glen Arbor.
The condo was very nice and the Master Bed was one of the best beds I have slept on while traveling! The view was amazing with the sunsets. I was there with my 3 kids for Spring Break the end of March so on the chiller side but we had a lot of fun hiking and exploring. Loved the fact that it was quiet and not crowded. If I go back to Glen Arbor I want to stay here again!
A Great Place!!
We were VERY satisfied with everything about this property. The unit was updated, clean and quiet with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. The owners made arranging our stay easy, and they kept us updated with check-in procedures as the date of our stay approached. Everything about this place was perfect -it actually exceeded our expectations - and we will most definitely stay here again.
Perfect for our needs
We loved the thoughtful details of hairdryer, extra linens (need more washcloths for those of us who use a new one daily - we used washer several times), laundry detergent & fabric softener, coffee filters, tea, hot chocolate, spices, honey, napkins, Rubbermaid, pans, knives (some knives are pointless & need weeding out), foil, plastic wrap, baggies, firewood, a detailed travel guide book, magazines...we suggest an updated wine opener, we ended up using yours only once & bought our own for travel. Melissa was great in the details for wine lovers & runners. We forgot to take wine glasses for free tastings but they are inexpensive compared with those in TX! The condo was clean, updated, & some of the artwork is Melissa's & lovely. One cannot beat the views & the short walk to the clean beach or the Crystal River where we watched the salmon/lake trout do their annual ritual. We loved going down memory lane of our times with our Aunt Fifi there in Glen Arbor! We enjoyed Art's Tavern but wish we had eaten in more, out less. Anyhow, thank you, The Mitchell's! I hope the cleaners liked the little extras we did for them to make a smooth day.
Beautiful condo, clean and updated. Great view!
We had a wonderful time exploring Glen Arbor! Kayaking in Crystal River was a highlight. We loved Art's Tavern and Cherry Republic. Also, Hop Lot brewery was a hit. Thank you for the wonderful rental.
Beautiful condo in the perfect location!
We spent a few nights here and enjoyed it immensely. The condo is beautifully decorated and very nicely equipped. The location on the beach was perfect. This condo is only minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes and well worth the trip to the park to see the breathtaking scenes there. We will definitely return and would stay here again.
Exceeded our expectations!
This was the first time we visited Northern MI and Glen Arbor was just ideal location for discovering the area. The condo was perfect and exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally clean, fresh and had everything (and more) that we needed and wanted, which mostly was the Lake MI view! We enjoyed the breathtaking lake views and sunsets from the master bedroom and living room/kitchen; and we were steps away from the beautiful beach!
The owner, Melissa, was accommodating and very nice to work with. She made everything go smoothly and I appreciated her suggestions/recommendations about the area resources and attractions. We will stay here again!
We are in the heart of all that is PURE MICHIGAN! No trip to Glen Arbor is complete without a trip to the dune hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes, biking (or if it's winter, cross country skiing) the new Heritage Trail, visiting and tasting some of the Leelanau wineries, afternoons at the beach, a hamburger at Art's Tavern, a stop at the M-22 store, and cookies from Cherry Republic. If you have kayaks, bring them and kayak down the Crystal River (located directly behind our condo) into Lake Michigan. During the summer season, take a ferry from Leeland to the Manitou Islands for a day of hiking. Rent a pontoon boat for the day on crystal clear blue Glen Lake. For the golfers, the Homestead Resort offers two courses to choose from as well as many other nearby courses. We are about 45 minutes from Grand Traverse. The Homestead Resort offers many amenities that are within easy walking distance including restaurants, playground, market, skiing, gift shop, and spa. Rental does NOT include use of the Homestead pool and Homestead beach club.
