Absolutely stunning view!!
Heaven's balcony is the perfect name for this amazing place above Maggie Valley! When we walked in our breath was taken away! There were windows and sliding glass doors all along the back part of the house giving you a great view of the mountains. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning where you are above the clouds and night time with the sun setting over the mountains. Inside there is a huge dinning table where you can also enjoy the view. The living room furniture was so comfy we found ourselves napping with the wonderful cool air blowing through the windows! We loved that there was a separate living room and bedroom downstairs with it's own bath that made it perfect for our adult daughter. The master bedroom was very roomy with a super comfortable bed and a great sized walk in closet. You can not go wrong with staying here. The owners are very wonderful! We do highly recommend a 4 wheel drive as the mountain road is very curvy and very steep in places, use low gear. Scarey the first time up but you get used to it and the house and view are well worth the climb. Enjoy this amazing home in the mountains!
We had such a great weekend here! All I wanted to do was sit on the porch and enjoy the view. But the house was also comfortable, clean and lovely. Ed and Laura were very kind and accommodating. We intended to spend a lot of time in Asheville but we ended up enjoying Waynesville and, honestly, the house so much more that we spent most of our long weekend close by.
Great trip! I highly recommend this lovely home for a quiet, relaxing getaway.
Unbelievably Good Views and Beautiful House!
This house truly lives up to the description and it a beautiful place to relax. It is very well kept and there is so much room. The covered wraparound porch is huge and the views on either side of the house are very different. It's incredible waking up every morning to seeing the sun catching the peaks of the ridges around Maggie Valley and watching the fog fill the valley towards the east. The kitchen had plenty of room and made it easy to cook and the recliners upstairs were some of the most comfortable I've ever used. It's almost difficult not to relax being here, the view out of every window on the north and west side of the house is almost surreal. This was definitely the perfect place to go and relax. Once you're there, you'll have a hard time wanting to go anywhere else because you won't want to leave. I'm very glad that I decided to stay here and certainly hope to be back again in the future!
Breathtaking views, beautiful home!
The home we stayed in is known as "Heaven's Balcony". When we saw the views from the porch for the first time, we knew how it got it's name. After an adventurous 2.5 mile drive up the mountain, we arrived and it immediately felt like home. The house was clean and well-kept with plenty of room. There was a comfy recliner sofa and chairs in the living room with a big tv, nice king- size bed in the main bedroom with en suite bathroom. The kitchen had all the appliances you'd need plus a washer and dryer as well. But the best part of the home was the large wraparound porch with those spectacular views. Plus there are some great shops and restaurants a short drive away. We enjoyed our time in Maggie Valley and will definitely be back!
Very beautiful and peaceful. Clean too. Would love to return in the future.
Great house. I slept very well there and enjoyed the beautiful views!!
Ed and Laura were very accommodating and easy to communicate with.
If you go, take your own bath soap and toilet paper. Everything else was well stocked.
Pictures don't do it justice
We had a great opportunity to experience Heaven's Balcony. The pictures really don't do justice to the amazing view. Sunset over the mountains is truly amazing, and the hosts have done a great job in landscaping to attract plenty of birds and butterflies. Very peaceful setting. Only warning is that the drive up -- and down -- is extremely steep. Use low gear, and preferably bring a 4-wheel drive. The view is worth the drive, just be prepared.
