A Perfect Mountain Getaway!
I do not even know where to begin. Spur of the moment, I decided I needed to get away and knew Maggie Valley would be the perfect place to relax. The cabin I normally rent when I go there was booked, but I found this gem. What a blessing! After booking, I talked my parents into driving in from another state, then both of my sisters agreed to tag along. This was the first family vacation we had together with just us in probably 35 years.
The cabin offered the PERFECT place for us. There was a ton of room for the five of us. The balcony has the most amazing view imaginable. The pictures show beauty, but even they cannot capture just how amazingly beautiful it is up there. Each morning, we had coffee on the balcony and watched the sun rise and watched the world come to life. We enjoyed the activity that the bird feeders and hummingbird feeder brought to the balcony as well. Words just cannot describe the view of God's creation from that cabin. The drive up the mountain was an adventure, but my Toyota Camry had no troubles getting up and down. And, once we saw what the short trip up the road provided us, it was so worth it.
We made memories there that will never be forgotten, and though I love the cabin I have always rented when I visited Maggie Valley before, I believe I have found my new place to stay. I cannot wait to make the time to return to Heaven's Balcony. My family is so thankful to the Huff family for opening up their home to us to use as our own for a few days. You can tell that they truly want people to be able to enjoy their cabin, and it is truly appreciated. Until next time!
Absolutely stunning view!!
Heaven's balcony is the perfect name for this amazing place above Maggie Valley! When we walked in our breath was taken away! There were windows and sliding glass doors all along the back part of the house giving you a great view of the mountains. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning where you are above the clouds and night time with the sun setting over the mountains. Inside there is a huge dinning table where you can also enjoy the view. The living room furniture was so comfy we found ourselves napping with the wonderful cool air blowing through the windows! We loved that there was a separate living room and bedroom downstairs with it's own bath that made it perfect for our adult daughter. The master bedroom was very roomy with a super comfortable bed and a great sized walk in closet. You can not go wrong with staying here. The owners are very wonderful! We do highly recommend a 4 wheel drive as the mountain road is very curvy and very steep in places, use low gear. Scarey the first time up but you get used to it and the house and view are well worth the climb. Enjoy this amazing home in the mountains!
We had such a great weekend here! All I wanted to do was sit on the porch and enjoy the view. But the house was also comfortable, clean and lovely. Ed and Laura were very kind and accommodating. We intended to spend a lot of time in Asheville but we ended up enjoying Waynesville and, honestly, the house so much more that we spent most of our long weekend close by.
Great trip! I highly recommend this lovely home for a quiet, relaxing getaway.
Unbelievably Good Views and Beautiful House!
This house truly lives up to the description and it a beautiful place to relax. It is very well kept and there is so much room. The covered wraparound porch is huge and the views on either side of the house are very different. It's incredible waking up every morning to seeing the sun catching the peaks of the ridges around Maggie Valley and watching the fog fill the valley towards the east. The kitchen had plenty of room and made it easy to cook and the recliners upstairs were some of the most comfortable I've ever used. It's almost difficult not to relax being here, the view out of every window on the north and west side of the house is almost surreal. This was definitely the perfect place to go and relax. Once you're there, you'll have a hard time wanting to go anywhere else because you won't want to leave. I'm very glad that I decided to stay here and certainly hope to be back again in the future!
