People say this is the most beautiful house in Cuenca!
You will rest deeply and enjoy your respite from the animated city, cocooned on the second story above one of the quietest streets in the historic downtown area. The house is quiet and tranquil, with very little traffic noise even outside on the open balconies.
Security is excellent. You must pass through three secured doors to enter, and the street door is locked at night and on weekends.

The guest room is a lovely double room, with a cushy queen-size memory-foam mattress and 1000 thread-count sheets, abundant down-filed pillows and duvet, an antique desk, colorful art, and a full private bath.
The WIFI works throughout the house.
The kitchen includes disposal, US double-sided refrigerator with crushed ice in the door, gas cooktop and electric oven, microwave, instant hot water, granite countertops throughout and lovely antiqued hardwood cupboards, plus a cozy little balcony off the kitchen for coffee or tea breaks.
Your rent includes gas, water, electricity and maid service before your stay, plus Wi-Fi internet. There is a Blu-ray player with DVD movies for your viewing pleasure.

Even nicer than described
We loved Thr house and location - absolutely top notch! The house was very quiet, in spite of being in the heart of centro. Great bed! The art work , comfort, and design of the house was superb. Thank you, Mary!
A beautiful home in the heart of historic Cuenca
This was our first trip to Cuenca. We spent 11 nights in this lovely home, and found it to be very comfortable, spacious and charming. Mary was so accommodating and accessible before we traveled, answering questions and providing a wealth of advice and information as we prepared. Although she was unable to be there during our stay (due to a family medical situation in the States), Mary's good friend Carla filled in, and took care of our every need, and went above and beyond. The place itself is decorated beautifully, with artwork and artifacts from around the world. The hardwood floors, area rugs and rich woodwork give this place a real feeling of elegance. The queen bed was very comfortable, and the entire place was very clean. The kitchen was stylish, with modern appliances.
The location in the center of the historic district made it easy to walk to most of the downtown attractions and restaurants. One unavoidable downside to being in the city center is the exhaust fumes from cars and especially diesel buses. Unless you are super-sensitive to this, the pluses far outweighed this inconvenience. There are many quality restaurants nearby, and very reasonably priced.
Our overall experience here was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to others.
The most beautiful property in Cuenca and 1.5 blocks from Neuvo Cathedral!
This is a fabulous one bedroom filled with the owners collection of upscale antiques and US quality furnishings and all is in perfect condition. The apartment is stunning with nice hardwood floors, custom doors throughout, high ceilings and a small balcony looking out to the street. We’re always concern about the comfort of the bed and this one was extremely comfortable. Noise factor is minimal even though it is so close to Centro. The owner Mary is very gracious and develops a personal relationship with her renters so she can better accommodate your stay. She gave us fabulous restaurant recommendations since we are foodies and our standards are high being from the New Orleans, Louisiana area. We had fabulous culinary experiences. She also hooked us up with Valdimir who was our driver for day trips which ended up being less costly than a tour and his English was impeccable plus he knew exactly where to take us for bargain shopping, lunches and less visited artisan places. Mary gave us all sorts of recommendations for our complete stay in beautiful Cuenca. We highly recommend her beautiful apartment and the bonus of all her recommendations to make your stay perfect.
Right in the heart of Cuenca. Perfect location. Great town
Beautiful apartment full of gorgeous antiques but at the same time very homey. Mary couldn't have been nicer. It was a real pleasure.
Thank you so much for the kind words Marsha! it was a real pleasure meeting you and Andrew and I hope to see you again in Ecuador one day! Many Blessings to you!
great location, beautiful apt
We really enjoyed our stay in Mary's apt in the historic center of Cuenca. The apt. was in a perfect location and was very spacious and filled with beautiful art objects and rugs. We enjoyed looking at all the furnishings as well as venturing outside to see Cuenca. Mary also recommended Eddie, a driver, to us, who was a gem. He took us around to outlying towns in the Andes and was a good companion for our two day-trips outside of Cuenca. The property was well-maintained and had all the amenities.
Thank you for the kind words Judy! I am so happy that you enjoyed your time in my home and thrilled to hear that my recommendations worked out for you .. I do try to provide a truly unique environment and to make my guests stay as comfortable and pleasing as possible no matter what their needs are. Many BLessings to you and Philip.
Beautiful apartment; excellent location
This apartment in downtown Cuenca was more like a gorgeous home than a rental property. It was spacious, quiet and relaxing. Mary, the owner was a wealth of information. She hooked us up with a local organic farmer who delivered fresh fruit and vegetables to our door. She also found a great hike leader - James Drummond - for our trips to the Cajas National Park and pointed me in the direction of local yoga classes. We particularly enjoyed her recommendations for music entertainment and dinners out. Yes, we would return to this home.
Although, the wifi was unreliable in the unit it was readily available in the nearby cafes and restaurants. As well, a coffee maker would have been useful.
You are in the heart of Colonial Cuenca, in El Centro, one block from Cuenca's famous blue-domed Cathedral and beautiful Parque Calderon, with restaurants, bars, coffeehouses and trendy shops all around you. Views from your terrace of the New Cathedral and St. Sebastian Church, and El Centro life. Minutes from festive Calle Larga and the Tomebamba river. Eight minutes from the airport. Best location in Cuenca to see all the sights with no need for a car.
