A fully equipped villa with everything you need for a relaxing stay in Santorini
This was our first visit to Santorini and a surprise 50th birthday week away for one of our party of four. We contacted Martine who looks after the villa for the owner when we arrived at the airport. It took less than 10 minutes to drive there in a hire car from the airport and Google maps pinpointed the villa with no problem. Martine was there to greet us and provided general information about the property and the area. She called a couple of times during our stay to adjust the chemical balance of the pool (which was beautifully illuminated during the evening). She was very chatty and helpful and we can recommend eating at her husbands restaurant which was a short drive away in Fira. Another restaurant within 10 - 15 minutes walking distance of Villa Ouzo was Tabasco who also provide a takeaway service. We only found them during the last couple of days of our stay but their food was superb. A supermarket selling most items you need is in the same location.
We spent a lot of time relaxing in the villa and using the pool which was comfortably warm at the beginning of September. We visited Oia, a must in my opinion, with many small streets containing masses of individual boutiques, jewellers, gift shops, cafes etc.
The views are breathtaking. We watched the sun set over the sea from a cliff top bar near Akrotiri. After visiting Simos Restaurant (Martine's husbands) in Fira, we walked around the town but explored very little else on the island although we were aware there was much more to see. We would love to visit Santorini again and would happily repeat our stay at Villa Ouzo. I doubt that we could have bettered our experience by staying elsewhere.
Good location, far from the everyday tourist track
This was our first trip to Santorini. Roselyn's place has everything you need to have a quiet evening after a day full of adventure. Martine ( takes care of this property for the owner), was waiting for us when we arrived. She explained everything and gave us some pointers. Her husband, Simos owns a restaurant , nice place, great food. Definitely would recommend. We didn't rent a car, we have walked every day to Fira which is about 20 min away. Santorini doesn't have nice beaches!. We have done some boat cruises with Spiridakos company. Definitely would recommend any tour with them. I think 3-4 days would be enough in Santorini. Oia is a must to see. We took a local buss to get there. Another time we hiked, if you can handle it is a spectacular 10km hike. Anyways, villa Ouzo is a great place to stay. We were unlucky having construction next door . Definitely would recommend this very comfortable villa.
Quiet villa, but in small town easy walking to tavernas and minimarkets etc
Santorini a bustling busy island even in October. Possible to find quieter sights and beaches on East and South of island. Main towns have to be visited and the caldera views. Interesting archeological sites, much more extensive than we expected and prehistoric museum worth a visit to complete the story.
Everything we needed in a beautiful location
Has everything you need to have a great stay in Santorini.
Roselyne kindly organised our taxi from the airport and then even though it was late at night Martine was there to meet us. She showed us all of the very well equipped Villa and was so kind in offering any help we needed.
The Villa itself is lovely and having the pool is the icing on the cake.
We didn't hire a car or quad and just walked into beautiful Fira every night to watch the sunset, this took about 20 /25 mins but it was fine with the lovely temperatures.
Would certainly recommend this Villa which if in Fira itself would no doubt be over twice the price.
Thank you for our very enjoyable stay in Santorini.
The villa was great. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need. It is in walking distance to the supermarket, to multiple mimi marts, and restaurants. There is also a public bus stop in walking distance if you choose to use public transportation. We rented a car so we did not use the buses. The private pool and veranda were nice and relaxing. Martine, Roselyn's friend, met us upon arrival. She was wonderful! She gave us tips on how to most enjoy the island. We had a small problem with one of the appliances and it was fixed promptly after letting Martine know. We also ate at Marine's husband's restaurant, Taverna Simos, which I would highly recommend visiting. The food was great! I would definitely stay at Villa Ouzo again!!
