About Viktoria

I like to provide a welcoming environment to travelers from abroad and within. In addition to standards of clean bedding, towels, and bathroom essentials including shampoos and soaps, there is an underlying theme dedicated to our global environment. There are original artworks about the environment by local artisans, an eclectic and minimalistic interior design, fresh flowers, and consumer friendly utilities.

Why Viktoria chose Jersey City

Super quick 15 minute access to Manhattan. Compared to Manhattan and her boroughs, guests appreciate the better rates, quiet streets, more space, and a break from the tourist environment.

What makes this apartment unique

This is an historic dwelling with plenty of charm and warmth. The brownstone brick building was built in 1825 and has a rich blend of contemporary upgrades and old world character.

Great Location, Good Apartment

  • 4 of 5

This place is small has some limits but is in a great location at a great price. The things to be aware of: Limited privacy as the bedroom with two beds has a glass door; limited kitchen space and dishes with a small folding table and 2 chairs. If someone sleeps in the living room there is no air conditioning unless you leave bedroom doors open as the bedrooms each have a window air conditioner; Television reception is over the air only and poor because of brick walls. Third floor in case stairs are a concern. But it was comfortable with 3 double beds plus couch, good linens and towels, and a big fridge. The best part is the location: 10 minute walk to Grove Place PATH station and from there 5 minutes to WTC or 10 minutes to 33rd St. You can get from doorstep to Manhattan in less than a half hour at subway prices! We were there 4 days and bought a 10 trip on PATH and a 7-day MTA pass each. That made it easy to get all around NYC each day. We put our car in the Grove Place parking garage. It's hard to find the entrances but there is one in back as well as right in front at the hotel door. I would gladly return here for future New York City trips. Oh, and a great little store 2 doors down, and around the corner stop at Wonder Bagels... perfect NYC Bagels! Plenty of restaurants and stores within 4 blocks and Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts by the PATH station. Easy way to drive in: I-78 east from I-95. Pass through one toll barrier then exit to Columbus Ave. Go 2 blocks and bend right then go just 3 short blocks to Varick. Turn right and find a parking spot. Parking is impossible to find from dinner time to 8am and limited to 2 hours from 8am to 5pm. Time your arrival and departure carefully.

Lovely but hope you're good friends

  • 4 of 5

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc?

**This place was perfect for our 4 day trip to New York City. The apt was as pictured and described. It is in a quiet neighborhood with tree lined streets and after spending all day in the city it was very nice to have the peace and calm.

Was the property clean and well-maintained?

**The Apt was very clean and all the furniture was in good condition. We ate all our meals out so did not use the kitchenette but it seemed to be up to date. I did think it odd that there were only three white folding chairs for the small table, but it wasn't a bother because there was only 3 of us. The one bathroom was fine for the 3 of us and water pressure and temperature was good.

Did the owner or manager provide good customer service?

** Excellent Customer service, I was mid-email about details to enter [you need a code to get the keys] and she must have read my mind and sent off the information before I finished.

Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?

**I would recommend this, and I have recommended this to friends. However I do want to point out that though it says 10 people and you could have 10... it would be very cramped and zero privacy. In fact the only thing we didn't like was that there were no privacy curtains for the front bedroom [french doors are pretty but also completely glass] Again this was fine for us as we were a group of 3 and were able to use the back bedroom and bathroom to change in.

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy?

In the nearby city blocks we visited Two Boots Pizza, Box: Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar, Cookies 'n Crepes, and Wonder Bagels. [Many other meals where in NYC] We did walk over to the local market they had on Saturday morning in a nearby garden square. There was also an artisan market friday and saturday in the Grove Street Square.

Overall the place was perfect for our group of 3, it was only a 3 block [.3 mile] walk to the PATH station and I would love to visit again.

New York visit

  • 3 of 5

This apartment was in a good location to visit New York with most of the facilities needed to make a pleasant stay. It is in quiet and safe residential area. It was just perfect for us, two retired couples.

There were a few minor points that could be improved. A small pot or kettle to boil water could be nice, some tea towels (there were none), some of the lamps were not working and perhaps a 4th chair. The curtains in the front bedroom could be darker to prevent the hot sun to heat the room and allow the airconditioner to work better.

Overall we have no complaints since we spent most of the time visiting the BIG APPLE and were able to leave the car in an inexpensive parking lot. Transportation is a little expensive but very efficient.

Viktoria was present when we needed her. Thank you!

we recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit New York without the noise of the big city.

Convenient location, nice place

  • 5 of 5

This is a small but clean and well-organized rental with great light and a convenient location. It is in a fairly quiet residential neighborhood, but walking distance to good restaurants and transport into Manhattan. Parking on street feels safe and is free on weekends and in the evenings. Linens are good quality, and the beds are comfortable too. The only things I might suggest to add would be a teakettle for the stove and blackout curtains on the front bedroom windows (or rolling blinds). Those are minor points, however. Overall this is an excellent rental.
