Terracotta tile entrance way and steps lead into four levels of Southern California charm; walnut hardwoods, stained glass windows, two gas & wood burning fireplaces, leather sofas, full washer/dryer, 20/25’ ceilings, arches, and rounded corners. Master suite on lowest level with fireplace, custom Italian ceramic-tiled shower, flat-screened TV and private courtyard. Second bedroom suite with flat-screened TV on another level next to custom ceramic-tiled full bath. Living room, 6-seat dining room, half-bath, great room, full kitchen (stainless steel gas range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator) quaint bar/breakfast area and flat screen TV/sound system on main level. Private balcony on top level with panoramic ocean views of Santa Catalina Island and the Ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach, where you can whale and ship watch in complete seclusion while drinking morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. Nicely appointed condo, great location

My wife, my parents and I stayed at Mel's condo in late August, and the weather and the condo were wonderful. Great cool ocean breezes throughout the place. This was our first experience with VRBO, and we will use them again - and this location very likely too. We came to L.A. for my sons wedding and needed something close by but that was in an area that also had some character and had other things close by as well. The condo was very nicely decorated throughout but made us feel comfortable, and it was SPOTLESS. Both bedrooms have queen size beds and the master is very spacious. The master bath is large but the shower head is a little too low for most men and the opening to the shower is small, so you need to be careful getting in and out. The kitchen was not lacking in anything and everything is very nice and easy to use. Having an enclosed garage with off-street parking is a big plus in L.A., and it just held the four-door Nissan Altima we rented but check with Mel as larger vehicles may not fit. The owner Mel was really great, making sure we had everything we needed and even ensured we were ok during our stay. I couldn't ask for a better rental or property owner experience. We would recommend this location. Thanks again Mel!

Wonderful Condo

My sister, her husband and I stayed at Mel's condo for a week at the end of July and early August 2015. It is a perfect two-bedroom, two-bath condo and by that I mean just perfect. I'd say it is one of the classiest condos we have ever stayed. The decor is extremely tasteful, high class but comfortable. We immediately felt "at home." The kitchen has high-end appliances and we enjoyed cooking there. For the L.A. area, it was extremely peaceful and quiet and we found that quite surprising. The neighborhood is family-friendly and the surrounding areas were easy access to the markets and restaurants. We felt quite safe there and really appreciated the enclosed garage. Mel was extremely thoughtful and accommodating and we couldn't have asked for a nicer property owner. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Stay

This condo has beautiful interior furnishings, fabulous views of the harbor and Catalina, cool breezes passing throughout, a great kitchen AND a garage. It has all the comforts of home. Mel, the owner is the greatest.

He was a pleasure to interact with and he made sure we were comfy. I would stay here again.

Beautiful Vacation Rental

My wife and I spend the full month of July 2015 at Mel's San Pedro home and it is all that it is advertised to be on VRBO.

Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Located close to shopping and the beach and many other attractions.

Mel was very responsive to a couple of requests that we had regarding TV and Wi-Fi that enhanced our stay.

He was there to greet us and walk us through the home to show us where everything was and how the alarm worked.

We spent many evenings on the upstairs balcony enjoying the ocean views and the cool breezes.

The beds are very comfortable which is not always the case in some rentals.

We would definitely stay there again.

We can recommend this property with our highest confidence that you will have the same experience that we did.

In a single word...... IMPECCABLE!!

I stayed at Mel's place for a week, and it was by far the nicest VRBO place I've stayed at. Mel has everything you need and the place is spotless! I arrived after 10pm and Mel met me at the house, showed me around, talked me through the alarm system, and didn't leave until he was sure I was comfortable in his home. Few VRBO places I've stayed at offer a garage to park in, so it was great to get in a cool vehicle each morning. After a nice run along Point Fermin Park, the upstairs patio is a great place to relax, cool down, and unwind. The kitchen has everything you can think of for any meal and all appliances are high end. I hate to say much more out of fear that I'll never get to stay in Mel's amazing home!

Condo Overlooking Santa Catalina Island

Review #12368909 “Santa Catalina, San Pedro Harbor, and Peace Bell Condo”

My wife and I rented this San Pedro condo during January, February, and March, 2015.

We enjoyed living in the condo. We thought the inside and outside stairs might be problems if not for us, then our guests, but this did not prove to be the case. We needed a little exercise, and we got that from almost daily long walks in the surrounding terrain - to the lighthouse park, to the Korean Peace Bell, and far beyond to the Nature Center -- along the shore, up and down the hills, through the legacy shore artillery emplacements, down to the fishing pier, along the harbor to the battleship. So much of the commerce of the entire nation passes through the port of LA. There were lots of things to see and lots of things to contemplate.

We enjoyed many aspects of living in a community with established sense of neighborhood; we were welcomed at a lovely potluck brunch in the neighborhood in January. Another neighbor allowed us to harvest her excess tiny, delicious vine-ripened tomatoes.

I feared there might be a parking problem but unlike elsewhere in the Los Angeles area, this was not the case.

The condo was quite tastefully decorated - we thought so, and all of our guests agreed. The view from the balcony was wondrous - the beginning glow of lights in the harbor and a glass of nice red wine at dusk was such a fine way to close out the day.

Although a few problems did arise, the condo owner promptly obtained appropriate repair people and the problems were promptly resolved.

We cooked the great majority of our meals in the kitchen and found it adequately equipped with high quality utensils. Two neighborhood restaurants were nearby and shopping for foods and other necessities in San Pedro was good and relatively convenient.

All in all, it was a pleasant and comfortable place to spend a winter basking in the sunshine next to the sea.
