About the property

Private accommodation for 2 adults with bunks for 2 kids.

We are a small diverse hill farm nestled in the Green Mountains of Central Vermont. We believe diversity is crucial to maintaining a healthy environment. Our newly constructed accommodation is relaxing and comforting. Cook your locally purchased foods in your own fully equipped kitchen. Entertain friends inside or outside on the deck with views over rolling countryside, distant mountains. The apartment has one queen bedroom with a private bath. The farm also offers two rooms both with queen beds and private bathrooms priced slightly cheaper than the apartment. We are located centrally in the Green Mountain State. Local to the state capitol, Montpelier, and several ski resorts including Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area, many of which serve locally grown food.

Winter Note: 4x4 or awd is recommended during the winter months.

We have recently returned from a trip to the UK and currently do not have any animals on the farm.

Pricing includes 9% Rooms and meals tax.

NB: There is an additional $25 single night booking fee to be applied to single night bookings.

A little slice of heaven in the Green Mountains!

We had a lovely stay at James and Laura's farm. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was adequate, and the scenery was spectacular. We especially appreciated their concern for the environment that is evident in both the building construction as well as the three-tiered options for waste disposal (compost, recycle, or garbage). Several evenings, James and Laura joined us for drinks and we really enjoyed getting to know them.

The only downside was the need to drive everywhere...I was hoping for a staycation at their home, but because of the weather (chilly, rain), and the location, we found ourselves in the car making day trips almost every day. The location is ideal for day-trips, though: Ben and Jerry's, King Arthur Flour, Lake Champlain Chocolates...you can eat your way through Vermont by staying at their place!

Green as the Green Mountains

James and Laura were a great couple who were overly welcoming and accommodating to their guests. This property sported an excellent morning view which looked out over a 10 acre farm that seemed to stretch to the mountains in the distance. The commute to Norwich University was the overwhelming reason for choosing this property, and it did not disappoint. The commute to campus was no longer than eight minutes. Montpelier a stones throw away also.

This property is a fantastic choice for those seeking a cozy green get away. The entire property is powered by solar panels that are hooked up to both the house and storage shed next door. The absence of cable, tv, and cell phone signal in our room provided us with a cozy cabin feel that helped us escape from the surrounding world for a week. While there was no refrigerator in our room James and Laura gladly offered their own refrigerator as a option for storing the many meals that we couldn't finish in from many of the delicious eateries that dotted the countryside.

Great Experience

My two young children and I had a great experience here. The hosts were wonderful. They greeted us upon our arrival, showed us around and made sure we had anything we needed. The setting and view are wonderful.

My kids loved seeing the pigs, cows, chickens and ducks. There is a very cute swing in the back yard in a tree by the pond. We were given fresh eggs from the farm which made for a great breakfast every morning. The bed in the bedroom was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. I never wanted to get out of bed!

I would highly recommend staying here.
