We live a mile outside Mineral Point and own a manufacturing business in town. Julie was raised here and we moved back here to raise our family 20 years ago.
Bob Oberhauser purchased this house in 2013
This is a very unique property and well know in Mineral Point due to the old gas station that sits on the edge of it.
One of the first gas stations was erected next to the house in the 1920s. It was brought in by rail and is made of steel although it doesn't look like it. The gas station stopped operating in the 1930s.
The house was built before 1870s and the front addition was put on around 1910. We restored the interior of the house in 2014. We added all the amenities one expects to have these days. A dishwasher, high speed internet wifi, Netflix, stainless appliances, flat screen TVs, etc. We also restored the large Victorian trim and baseboard throughout the home as well as uncovered a medallion in the master bedroom which was a surprise.
Everything is located on one floor. The home is only a block away from restaurants and shopping.
We booked this place at the last minute. What a cute place! Very cozy. Owners had everything ready for us. The weather was bad but when we arrived the walkways were shoveled and ready for us. Mineral Point is a cute town. We definitely will be returning!
Enjoyed our stay in Mineral Point. This cottage was perfect!!!! Everything we needed was provided. The highlight is the covered deck off the kitchen where we spent a couple nights enjoying the weather. The location is close to everything. Felt like we were in our own home. Will be back again soon.
Kick back and relax in a newly restored pre-1870s historic home with all the amenities. Just one block away from downtown shops, restaurants and the opera house.
Small enough for a couple, but large enough to sleep a family or gathering of 6 comfortably.
