About Bob and Julie Oberhauser

We live a mile outside Mineral Point and own a manufacturing business in town. Julie was raised here and we moved back here to raise our family 20 years ago.

Bob and Julie Oberhauser purchased this house in 2013

Why Bob and Julie Oberhauser chose Mineral Point

This is a very unique property and well know in Mineral Point due to the old gas station that sits on the edge of it.

One of the first gas stations was erected next to the house in the 1920s. It was brought in by rail and is made of steel although it doesn't look like it. The gas station stopped operating in the 1930s.

The house was built before 1870s and the front addition was put on around 1910. We restored the interior of the house in 2014. We added all the amenities one expects to have these days. A dishwasher, high speed internet wifi, Netflix, stainless appliances, flat screen TVs, etc. We also restored the large Victorian trim and baseboard throughout the home as well as uncovered a medallion in the master bedroom which was a surprise.

What makes this house unique

Everything is located on one floor. The home is only a block away from restaurants and shopping.

Great house; clean and well equipped. Close to everything in town. Traffic/ATV noise a negative.

  • 4 of 5

This is our second stay; we (five adults) come down yearly for a weekend seeing plays at American Players Theatre. The house is clean and comfortable. We typically cook many of our own meals and eating out on the back porch was lovely. I would recommend it highly. It is in town and there is some noise from traffic and an ATV path during the day but was not too noticeable at night.

Charming cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay. We used the grill and had a nice dinner on the patio and then went to see the APT. Good location, quite street, extra clean and charming. Thank you!

Nice Cottage in a Nice Town

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely little surprise this home was. Both in and out, this house has been well maintained and set up for a comfortable stay. The pictures of the house on the site are very accurate with only one surprise, the main bathroom; its huge. There is a large whirlpool tub and double vanity, plenty of room for two people to get ready. However, the shower may be cramped for the big and tall. Overall, this house was an excellent choice over any mainstream hotel. Our family of 3 enjoyed our stay in both the house and town. Which was made easy since this house is just a block away from the town's main street and entrainment district. Would definitely stay again.

Historic home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed being a block from the historic city center as well as the secluded nature of the covered deck. It is in an ideal location for both.

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Would definitely book again! Beautifully maintained, easy access to downtown, great for small family, a couple or an individual.

Lovely couple who own it are conscientious, readily available with answers for queries, and leave great instructions.

Recommend!

Thanks!
