This house has everything!

  • 5 of 5

We felt like we were staying in a private luxury resort with all the amenities. The house, property and owners were awesome. It was the perfect vacation for our family with 3 teenage boys. There was so much to do here and Paula and Larry thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay enjoyable. They were gracious, hospitable and thoughtful hosts, available when you needed them but making sure your privacy was respected. The boys enjoyed kayaking and fishing every morning while we watched and drank our coffee on the covered deck. There was so much to do from playing basketball, corn hole, horse shoes, frisbee, badminton, riding bikes, crabbing, watching dolphins, seeing the space station fly over and more! We saw an amazing heat lighting storm which lasted over an hour. It was better than fireworks! We loved the location. It was about a 50 minute ride to Busch Gardens/Water Country/Williamsburg which was a must do with 3 teenagers. We also enjoyed the Courthouse Restaurant for breakfast and Olivia's for dinner. The general store/post office nearby is a piece of living history. I can't say enough wonderful things about this vacation. This place is truly a treasure!!

Wonderful "FUN"

  • 5 of 5

Paula and Larry super nice owners very welcoming. Our Family of 5, three young adult children. We all enjoyed the activities the home had to offer kayaks, volleyball, basket ball, daily bike rides, swimming etc. Just what we needed to have fun with our kids and make them and us feel like kids again. Nestled back in the woods but not to far that we couldn't go out to get necessities. We drove to Va beach in about an hour and 15 min. walked around a few hours and came back. Beach life not really our family's thing. Lol Larry showed my husband how to bring in crabs and cook them and Paula showed us how to clean and eat them. I could go on and on but I won't. Haha We was suppose to leave Saturday but was enjoying so much we stayed another day. We saw the Dolphins right before we left, so pretty. Conclusion Great Vacation wonderful memories made.

Isabel's Choice is Perfect in Everyway

  • 5 of 5

Do yourself a favor and STOP looking. My Husband and I have been renting property for 30 years and have NEVER had an experience like this!!!!! Isabel's Choice is absolutely Incredible!!!! The Sunrise took our breath away!!!! There are tons of lawn games to play, bikes to use to go exploring, kayaks, a row boat and much more!!! Sitting on the covered porch and looking at the beautiful views was heavenly. The home is beyond beautifully decorated and beyond comfortable. It is away from it all, peaceful and quiet. The little Country Store is close by for essentials you may have forgotten and there is a large major shopping center with a Walmart and more only 10 miles away. As wonderful as the Home is, the owners are the best things about it. Paula and Larry are treasures. They seemed more like Innkeepers at a 5 Star bed and breakfast than property owners. Even though they were close by to the property, they were literally invisible, unless we needed something, and then they magically appeared to fulfill our need. They provided everything we needed (including breakfast for the next morning, complete with orange juice). All we needed to pack was whatever food we might want during our stay (if we didn't want to go out. And why would we want to???), clothing and sunscreen. Forget all of the other stuff you normally have to pack when renting a house. It's there already. We met with a handshake when they greeted us upon our arrival and we left with hugs, hating to say goodbye. Love you guys, Paula and Larry. Thank you for sharing your awesome with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

off the beaten path

  • 5 of 5

This home and grounds are immaculately kept. It is very peaceful and quiet. Currently the house next to the property (can't see it), on the other side of the tree line is under construction. I must say though, they are the quietest construction workers I've ever heard. It was only my husband and I staying in the home, so if you had a couple kids (making normal kid noise) or a radio playing some light music you wouldn't hear them at all. The owners are very nice and are available for anything you might need...This comes into play when you have forgotten something, because the house is "off the beaten path". However, we discovered this fantastic country store about half way between town and the rental property, they have just about everything you could possibly need, and if you don't need anything, you should stop in and visit anyway!! Another must is the "courthouse restaurant" great food, and the staff make you feel like you're old friends!!! I would say this home is ideal for one or two families vacationing together, lots of games and things to do. The little (fiddler) crabs on the shore line are fascinating and hilarious to watch. The property itself deserves 5 stars, I gave it 4 just because of the distance from town, and the lack of wifi availability. I knew going into it that there was no wifi, but knowing and experiencing are two different things. My husband is a pastor and where it was nice being able to get away from everyone, and just take time to watch the clouds and water and reflect on the amazing nature God has made. It did put a damper on things a little when trying to do some research for sermons (which was part of the reason for the trip). Again that was just an issue for us, and most families are there to spend time with one another, not a working retreat. FYI, the little country store does have free wifi if you absolutely have to have it. Otherwise in the rental/vacation world, you couldn't ask for a better home to stay in!!

Beautiful and Relaxing Spot!

  • 5 of 5

We visited for a weekend with teenagers. The house was beautiful, clean and well appointed. There were so many outside things to do that we couldn't fit them all in - kayaking, volleyball, basketball, badminton, corn hole just to name a few. We loved the early morning dolphins and the nighttime fire pit. Some relaxed in the hammocks while others enjoyed the floating dock. I can't say enough great things about the place and the owners that were around to help out when needed.
