Perfect location to escape!

  • 4 of 5

We were very comfortable, and the A/C was a god send, as the temperatures with the humidity, were in the high 30's to low 40's!

The house is not on the lake (as the photos make it seem) and you cannot see the lake unless you walk to the top of the street to the little park. But definitely a quite cul-de-sac. We never did figure out how to turn on the oven, (the stove we did)that was ok, pizza on the BBQ worked out just fine. Would have spent more time in the garden/ deck if it weren't so hot. A small supply of laundry detergent, and maybe a few spices, would have been nice. Things hard to find in travel sizes. Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay here. ( Really! TP is not that expensive)

Nice place

  • 5 of 5

Nice location by the lake, in a quite cul-de-sac and only 15 minutes from downtown Toronto. The house was very clean and equipped with everything you may need. The communication with the owner was great. I would recommend the property to everyone.

An oasis in the city, great location & amenities

  • 5 of 5

The Lake View Cottage is superb and lives up to the expectation of the pictures. It's in a quiet spot, with a nearby restaurants and coffee shops. The house is close to the city but a haven away from it. We loved the local restaurants, the views of the city from waterfront and the house itself - quiet space, and the décor. This was one of the highlights of our trip, we should have stayed longer. It was ok not to stay in the centre of town. In some ways, it's more authentic to stay outside of city centre which is 15 minutes by car to downtown. We recommend that you use the local restaurants in walking distance. Buses and street cars are at the doorstep.

I would highly recommend this wonderful property for a memorable stay in Toronto.

The property is in a nice location on a quiet neighbourhood with a great view.

The propert is quite old but it was reasonably clean. There were all the needed amenities like pots and pans and coffee maker etc. The gas stove and water dispensing fridge was great as was the back deck (although the grass in the back yard could've used some attention). The hot water was Instant and plentiful. Other than the 3" centipede that scared the crap out of my wife and mother in law the property was nice. While the hard wood floor was attractive it also was my major complaint. When sharing a house between multiple families who don't all go to bed or get up at the same time, it was impossible to walk around the stairs and hallway without making seriously loud creaking noises waking everyone up. I really enjoyed the nice LED TV and Netflix and Internet were appreciated. I Wish there were half star increments on the rating. It would get a solid 3.5 but doesn't deserve a 4 in my opinion.

My mother and I have just returned from a two and half week stay at this wonderful property.

As former Torontonians, we can’t say enough about how stunning this location is. We felt very lucky to have found such a beautiful property that was not only situated close to all our requirements, but was also very clean and well equipped – a real oasis in a very quiet cul de sac. The house has so many lovely features, but of course the views of Lake Ontario from the front porch and fantastic deck out back for relaxing just made coming back to this house every night a very comfortable and welcoming experience.

Because we know Toronto we find it hard to recommend anything in particular of interest as our interests are not as tourists, but you will not be disappointed by the wide range of restaurants along The Queensway which is a 5 minute drive, or Bloor West Village which is a 15 min drive from this property. Groceries and general provisions are just as close in proximity to the property.

The owners were very responsive from the point of initial enquiries, through booking to the day of our arrival. Once we arrived, they were never intrusive but always very helpful and were on hand at a drop of a hat to answer our questions or be available to help us with any issues. They were very accommodating in allowing us to remain in the house on our last day beyond check out time as we had a late flight back. We really appreciated this as it made our last day so much easier.

Several of our friends asked us how we found such a place so we have shared the details for booking this property. It goes without saying that we will, of course, be looking to book this property again some time in the future.

Thank you so very much. We loved our stay!!!

Best place for business travel

  • 4 of 5

The house location is excellent, beautiful views of the city and lake, 10 minutes by car from Metro Convention Center downtown. Rooms upstair are comfortable, the kitchen cookable. Very convenient to have washer and dryer. We would without doubt stay again if visiting Toronto. Owner easy to contact and very helpful.
