Great Apartment!

Overall the apartment is nice. There isn't enough kitchen tools for cooking. We made pancakes every morning and had to use the coffee pot as a mixing bowl. The location is great, walking distance to the convention center. The pool area is outstanding. Communication with the people in charge of this particular apartment was sketchy. Sometimes it took days for them to respond and when they sent communication back, it was at very odd times. One time they sent a message at 12:00am. Lastly, even though they state the apartment sleeps 4, there wasn't enough bedding for the spare "bed". We had two people and sometimes I move to the couch when I cat sleep. There wasn't a blanket for the spare bed. There was sheets but no blanket.

Beautiful Apartment in the Heart of LA

I want to start by saying the over all experience was a good one. The apartment is beautiful and the view of downtown LA is wonderful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning having coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine.

Couple of issue we ran into. The communication on the front end was sketchy. I did not receive check in instructions via email as the directions indicated. I was very nervous we might not have a place to stay in LA but we found the address of the building and went there. A very helpful stranger was also staying in an UrbanFlat and gave me the phone number to the manager of the apartment. I called three times and got voice mail each time. Finally after waiting about 30 minutes I got a text from them with the check in instructions. They said they has texted me the info previously, which not sure how they could have done that since I just gave them my phone number. But we got checked in and was glad we were not hunting for another location last minute.

The info on VRBO says the apartment sleeps four. We are a family of two adults and two kids. There was a blow up mattress, but no extra blankets or pillows were provided, there were extra sheets. We had to scramble to find a Target and my hubby went out and purchased blankets and pillows. The management did say they would reimburse us for them. The blow up mattress was a nice one, however it had a slow leak so in the middle of the night you would have to put more air in it or by morning you would be on the ground. The bed in bedroom was wonderful and very comfortable as well as the pillows on the bed were great.

The apartment was overall clean. However, the floor made your feet black if you walked around barefooted, but with the type of floor it is I can see keeping it clean would be difficult.

The above are easy fixes and I'm sure the management will do so. Once we got in the apartment they were very responsive and gave the impression they wanted to be helpful and make sure we had a good stay. I would stay here again if ever I get back to LA.

Good central location

We rented the apartment for five weeks in February/March. The apartment is located in downtown LA close to transportation and cultural activities. The apartment building is new and well maintained. Staff on the security desk are very helpful and pleasant. The rental agent service from Urban Flats can be right on or missing in action for days. There was a sound problem with the television and it was replaced twice before the sound was satisfactory. The apartment was comfortable in the living area. If you want to cook in the kitchen, cookware is very, very limited. The cleaning staff did a good job, although the costs were not included in the rental.

My wife, daughter and I were recently in LA to visit our son at USC for parents weekend. We were first time VRBO renters and somewhat apprehensive and anxious about renting with VRBO vs. a traditional hotel. After this experience, we may never go the hotel room rental route again. Everything about our experience was positive. The location of the property is ideally located in downtown LA. Easy Metro ride or 5-7 minute drive to USC campus. I would highly recommend this property to any parent visiting their child at USC. We could easily walk to the Staples Center and LA Live. Amazing night time view of LA skyline including Staples Center and the iconic Ritz building. Unit is much better than an overpriced hotel room. King bed with awesome pillow top mattress in bedroom plus air mattress and oversized sofa in living room. Daughter did not want to get out of the bed in the morning because she was so comfortable. Great balcony for outdoor relaxation. Hi speed internet worked well along with cable TV and bluetooth speakers. Well equipped kitchen. Coffee maker and coffee in unit were much appreciated with a great coffee shop located on the corner (Phils?). Ralph's supermarket around the corner along with Starbucks. Easy walking distance to Bottega Louie ( highly recommended). Parking space included in secure garage. Saves money over ridiculous hotel parking charges. Front desk personnel were knowledgeable, pleasant and professional and assisted with any questions or issues. Host Evan was highly responsive to my calls before arrival. Instructions provided with rental confirmation were detailed and easy to follow. Unit was new, clean and well appointed. Great linens and towels. In unit washer/dryer came in handy. Easy access to highways. Spent day in Santa Monica, drove to beach for day in Laguna Beach and had great lunch in Beverly Hills. Great location, great unit, great host. Highly recommended. Son is freshmen at USC so we will be back to LA again on numerous occasions and I would not hesitate to rent at this property with this host again. Thanks Evan for a great experience.
