The Love Shack is your perfect beach retreat! This rustic yet comfortable and elegant log cabin is a very unique beach hideaway located in the desirable Rehoboth Beach neighborhood known as, "The Pines." This historic 1921 Prohibition Era Log cabin once hosted parties where ragtime bands serenaded guests from the great room balcony during the "Roaring 20s! Can you find the 'hidden' Prohibition era liquor cabinet? This property is deceiving for it sleeps 10 comfortably in the main house and, during the summer months, an additional two guests sleep in the guest cottage (also known as, "The Dog House"). The main house is fully air conditioned and heated. There is even a wood fireplace in the great room for romantic winter getaways. The master bedroom has a gas fireplace. Hardwood floors throughout. The front screened in porch is also a great spot to sit with a book, or enjoy a breakfast coffee, or an evening meal. Located just 15 minutes walk to the beach, or a short 5 minute drive to the beach. Your beach access is located to the north of the boardwalk at Whiskey Beach. The Cape Henlopen State Park beaches at Gordons Pond are a 5 minute drive along Ocean Drive. The shops and restaurants of downtown Rehoboth Beach are a short ten minute walk. Don't just rent this property for the summer weeks. Take advantage of its location for easy access to fun downtown events such as the Sea Witch Festival, Jazz Festival, Independent Film Festival, Christmas and New Year holiday events, the Cocoa Crawl, Valentines, Gumbo Crawl, and the very popular Chocolate Festival!
10-12 people can stay comfortably for great rates in the heart of downtown Rehoboth Beach. Do the math! It's a great deal for 10-12 people for this location!
This cabin is just lovely. Comfortably furnished, yet elegant and rustic. The back yard is a romantic oasis. Enjoy the screened in front porch. The wood burning fireplace means that this property is perfect for chilly fall and winter evenings. Close to beaches and town restaurants and shops.
We loved the house! Thanks for welcoming our group to your lovely home.
The dining area fit all of us and allowed for some memorable meals and games afterwards. The kitchen had everything we needed. The porch was a wonderful gathering area and the hot tub was great for relaxing. The A/C worked well which was appreciated since the temps were in the 90's. The cabin has a very warm and welcoming feeling and we definitely enjoyed staying there. The rental agents were friendly and quick to respond.
Lovely home for adults and teens. Great screened in porch and interior great room for larger groups. About a 15 minute walk to public beach, shopping, tennis and restaurants. A/C works well. Great information provided to let you know where to go and what is available in the area. Will come back next year should say it all.
Planned a weekend getaway with 10 friends while in town for the Dogfish Dash.
The reservation process was super easy and informative. Although the weather wasn't ideal during our stay, we made lots of use of the hot tub and communal space to play games.
The house is also a short walk to great restaurants & nearby attractions (our favorite - Dogfish Head Pub!).
Why I didn't give it 5 stars:
- The bathroom situation in the house is a little tricky (you can't get to the Seahorse Room without walking through the bathroom and/or master suite) and you can hear just about everything :)
- The sound & TV system needs some updating as the audio was pretty terrible for both. (However, this factor was only important because we spent a lot of time inside due to weather).
Overall, a GREAT experience!!
This house is in a great location - a nice walk to the beach, nearby shops and restaurants! The large living room/dining room area was great for our large family. There was plenty of space for everybody. We enjoyed the hot tub as well.
This house was just as the pictures depict ... a charming and authentic historic log cabin. The large great room/dining room provided ample space for a sizable group, the loft offered a nice private getaway for teenagers, as did the guest house out back. We loved the front, screened deck, and the close proximity to town. I would caution that access to one bedroom on the main level is via the master bedroom/bathroom or via another bathroom, so keep that in mind. The kitchen is not big, but functional, and although we had an issue with the refrigerator, it was addressed promptly. Beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was also a big hit. Thanks for a wonderful stay! The management was highly accommodating.
LGBT friendly area and town.
