Amazing ocean view one bedroom, one bathroom apartment in Linda Vista ('beautiful view' in Spanish), sleeps four. One master bedroom with queen bed (premium memory foam) and en-suite bathroom. Large common living room/dining room/kitchen......another queen bed in living room (premium memory foam) which has privacy screen. If it's a clear day, you can see San Clemente Island from the dining room table. Full kitchen.
Apartment is located at the top of a cul de sac, off a main street, and as a result, is very quiet. Apartment is one half of a duplex, and is the upstairs unit. Unit is a one bedroom, one bath apartment, which sleeps four comfortably. Unit is accessed by a common staircase, and opens into the living room. Living room consists of a TV 'nook' with full size couch, chair, and large flatscreen tv with dvd player. Behind the couch is a counter height dining room table that seats four. Dining table is in front of a large west-facing window with excellent ocean view, provided it's clear. Beyond the window is a door leading to the west deck, which has three chairs, and a small counter for eating or drinking. Great for viewing ocean and/or sunsets. Kitchen is nice-sized, with lots of cabinet space, a stainless full-size fridge, coffee maker, toaster, blender, rice cooker, etc, and all kitchen implements- pots, pans, colanders, plates, glasses, cups, bowls, etc. Around the corner from the kitchen is the master bedroom, which is pretty large. Master bedroom has premium quality memory foam mattress (queen size) and premium frame, with two nightstands and reading lamps on either side. There's a ceiling fan above the bed, a chest of drawers and lamp in the corner, a walk-in closet with mirror, and en suite bathroom with toilet and shower, with sink and vanity outside of bathroom proper. Master bedroom has two 'pocket' doors which slide open and closed via a small finger pull. Outside the master one 're-enters' the living space. Turn left, and there's another premium memory foam mattress (queen size) in the southeast corner of the living space. Just across from the bed is a beautiful south-facing deck with bistro table and two chairs.
Here are the rules- no loud parties, no extra or undeclared guests, turn down the volume of your voice and tv after 10pm. You can park in the driveway, but so can your downstairs neighbor; as a result, you must communicate to determine who is leaving first in the am so that no one gets 'blocked in' against his/her will. Any disturbance of the neighborhood peace (including disturbing the downstairs tenants) will result in a swift loss of your deposit.
A little about us and our practices- first, we do not 'hire out' the cleaning; we do it ourselves, because the only parties that really care if it's clean are you (the renter) and us. All our beds have premium quality memory foam mattresses. We use premium quality bath tissue. We have good relationships with our neighbors, and would like to keep it that way- any tenant that disturbs our neighbors will lose his/her deposit.
Born at UCLA, lived in LA 'til my pop got a job at UCI; then we moved down to the orange county. Lived there, went to Uni High in Irvine, then moved to Hawaii (Oahu) and ended up in SD for grad school at UCSD. Stayed here.
Scott Hamashige purchased this house in 2013
We looked at tons of places before getting this one. The property looks great, great location, great amenities, insane view, great neighborhood. We are close to all that SD has to offer, without a lot of the problems plaguing other areas- namely, congestion/noise/impossible parking. Property is in a very quiet neighborhood, with easy parking. We are close to the zoo, Sea World, Downtown, Little Italy, Old Town, North Park, beaches, bays, golf, etc.
'Linda Vista' means 'beautiful view' in spanish, and this property has an insane ocean view from the deck and most of the living room. If it's clear, you can see San Clemente Island.
If you wanna stay away from the bustle of the city but still close to the beaches and fun that San Diego has to offer... This is the place. It was clean. Comfy bed. Decently stocked kitchen of supplies for cooking.
I would definitely recommend to stay here! Perfect place to stay and close by to all attractions!!

We spent 5 nights here in August, and were delighted that we could open all the windows and enjoy a gentle breeze with temps in the upper 60s. Back home, it was in the mid-90s. We would hear an occasional dog bark in the distance, or distant traffic, but most nights we were able to sleep with the windows open. We heard occasional noise from the tenants downstairs, but that did not disturb our overall tranquil stay. We were able to sleep late when we wanted to. The duplex is well furnished, with plenty of towels, and a full kitchen. This is a good alternative to staying in a motel.
The apartment itself is really nice and spacious. It is well stocked and worked well for a family of 4. The beds are comfortable. I would advise if you have young children to try and request the bottom unit as it gets old quick trying to keep your kids quiet in order to not disturb the bottom residents. A few issues that I experienced: Parking is a little interesting as it is one narrow drive way where one car parks in front of the other, so you have to work out parking with whoever is staying in the bottom unit. Check in was a little confusing, but worked out fine in the end. The major issue I had was with the deposit/cleaning fee. We were charged an additional $40 for cleaning even though we washed all dishes, made beds, swept the floor and took out all of the garbage. That was an unexpected and disappointing expense.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and we're very happy with the accommodations. The home is quiet and it was very easy to check in and out. The only drawback is that you have to drive a bit to get anywhere (beaches, downtown, etc) and nothing is in walking distance. However, for the price and comparable properties it was worth it in our opinion. And yes, the bed is incredibly comfortable and we're now planning to buy one for ourselves because of it. The ocean view isn't really much to write home about but we didn't spend much time during the day at the house so this wasn't a huge factor anyway. Overall it was clean and spacious and the porches are relaxing and we are grateful to have been able to stay!
We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend for a basketball tournament. The place was perfect. Plenty of space, very clean, convenient to everything, and a beautiful view! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
