Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Dog Ok, Ski Lease, Walk To Beach, Hiking

You will be completely charmed by this classic old Tahoe cabin. From the moment you walk into this home, it will take you back to a simpler time. A time where great times with family and friends were paramount. Just imagine, sitting on the large deck, watching the grandkids on the big lawn or enjoying the flagstone patio under the tall pines.

Once inside, this home classic style is Old Tahoe at it's best, with high cross beam ceilings, hand stained knotty pine and a wonderful wood stove to keep you toasty. The upscale lodge style furnishings compliment the home's rustic appeal. The dining area features a farm style table with big windows to enjoy to forest views. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, dishwasher and a has an opening to see all the happenings in the great room. Also on the main level is the master bedroom with a king bed and attached bath.

Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms, each with its own bath. One bedroom has two twins and the final bedroom has a double and a nice desk workspace. Connecting the two bedrooms is a loft overlooking the great room with two twins. The railing is pretty open, so would not be suitable for small children.

One of the unique features of this home is a wood storage area with access to the laundry room, so no going out in the snow to get wood!

The home west shore location is just 2 minutes from Sunnyside, 5 minutes from Homewood Ski Area and a short distance to bike trails and the beach at Hurricane Bay. There is exceptional access to the backcountry trails and boardwalks at Ward Creek Park, just two blocks away.

What a terrific home to create great Tahoe memories. You will want to come back year, after year!

Please note: Christmas and New Years (2018) bookings will not be accepted at this time.

in poor repair and very dirty

  • 1 of 5

this cabin has horrible mattresses and they were dirty, covered with dog hair. i saw this complaint in previous reviews, but wells and bennet responded that the owners were told to buy new mattresses. obviously, they did not. these owners are not maintaining this cabin in good form and are doing the least possible just to keep renting this cabin out. both upstairs showers leak to the downstairs with water running down the walls. there are extensive water stains all over the ceilings, so the leaking upstair shower pipes have obviously been unaddressed for a long time. the deck is falling apart, full of splinters, and needs repair. the microwave does not work properly and smells awful. the refrigerator has obviously been leaking for a very long time and continues to leak inside and puddle on the kitchen floor, along with the pipes in the roof of the kitchen leaking into the kitchen from the upstairs bathroom. there is a moldy, musty smell in the home from the water damage. the sheets had stains on them and, as stated above, there was dog hair all over the box springs under the mattresses. the towels smelled horrible, another issue i saw addressed by wells and bennett on the reviews that was not fixed. also, the maids came while we were leaving and i ran back in real quick to use the bathroom one last time and discovered them dragging out the mattress covers, comforters, and other bedding from the laundry room unwashed and putting them back on the beds. all of that should be washed between guests. there are so many big repairs needed to this cabin and so much better supervision on the cleaning of it between guests. also, the carpets throughout the cabin were filthy dirty. i contacted wells and bennett to inform them of all of these issues and was treated very rudely and it was very obvious to me they just did not care. in fact, i finally just said to the girl i was talking to that its obvious she did not care so i was just going to end the conversation and hung up.

Owner's Response: We ask our guests in the first sentence of their arrival instructions to report any issues in our homes. If there is an issue, we want to respond immediately and fix, clean or repair any issues in a home. This guest did not say anything until their departure day and they were asked why they didn't call so we could have the opportunity to address any issues. We would have sent cleaners back, had the carpets cleaned (which were just cleaned in May) - we want to keep our guests happy. I personally asked the guests who stayed in the home both before this guest and after - both were happy with the home and the beds. The guest who stayed after is a returning guest and they love the house!

Quaint, Classic Tahoe Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Cozy, well equipped, charming, lovely home. Felt like my childhood cabin in Tahoe. Great location -- our favorite area in North Shore. The only thing we all did not like was the mattress's. Time to upgrade the mattress and then we would be back in a heartbeat.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THAT "RUSTIC MOUNTAIN FEEL", THIS IS THE CABIN FOR YOU.

  • 4 of 5

Rustic and dated cabin, great location about 5 minutes within the main drag of Tahoe City, quiet setting, good "mountain feel" but with a few small details that needed improvement. The management company, super responsive, professional and diligent. The house had most of all the amenities and it was comfortable but could have been cleaned better upon our arrival. We were a family of five but we had a only a small amount of bath towels and they smelled a bit "earthy" (for lack of a better word) -- and true, there was a washer and dryer in the premises that we could have used. We had a water leak on the upstairs bathroom and told the kids not to use it during the last two days of our stay. We believe there were animals living in between the bottom faux ceiling and the upstairs floor since there were what it sounded like tiny nail footsteps on the inside of the faux ceiling wood and little sharp bickering sounds -- almost like a bird or a mouse. Overall, a great experience of what to expect for this cabin if we were to rent in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for renting your Tahoe holiday home with Wells and Bennett Realtors. The cleaning and maintenance issues that incurred during your stay have been addressed. Those pesty squirrels love to try to find a warm place to stay in the cooler weather and we work hard on making sure they know they are not welcome. We were happy to host your stay and look forward to helping you again in the future.

Fantastic Vacation at the Timberland Lodge

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a fantastic time at the Timberland Lodge! Beautiful setting, great home, layout and more than enough parking. All of the rooms we very nice, clean and well managed. Very turnkey, got the keys from the management company and just moved our family in. We had 7 adults (Our 3 adult children, two significant others and one infant 4 months old) plus our family dog Buster. MORE than enough room to accommodate all of us. Great dining room table for dinners. We also loved the very spacious deck and BBQ. Great place great times! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

A Place When You Leave, You Know You Will Be Back

  • 5 of 5

I left feeling like I was saying bye to an old friend. But I knew I would be back. This is the most comfortable home and it has everything you will need. It has the feeling of being your home, like you are sitting in your living room and you have been there for years.

The deck is perfect and the amount of sun you get is perfect, and each room has windows that offer you wonderful fragrance of the beautiful outside. It is not ostentatious but down to earth proper leisure that is money well spent.

I cannot wait to go back and I will.

The only downside of this place is when you leave, you feel a sense of sadness, but then I reminded myself, now I know it exists and I cannot wait to go back. You will want for nothing if you stay here, literally. Well, except to go back.
