Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay at this property in San Ignacio. Beds were comfortable, each bedroom had it's own bathroom and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed including a blender for our daily pina coladas by the pool. The pool was clean and refreshing. We were so happy to have it after the hot, humid days exploring the jungle. We did all of our tours with Terry's tour company (Cayo Inland Expeditions). Our tour guide, Dimas, was very knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time. Terry also arranged for transportation to and from the airport which went very smoothly. Thanks for making our time in San Ignacio so fun and memorable!
Gorgeous view, spacious and comfortable house
Our family of 6, two seniors, two adults and two teens really enjoyed the stay at Hill House. The place was very clean, well organized and comfortable for all of us. The beds are soft, there are spices in the kitchen along with lots of dishes and pots & pans. From the pool deck we saw howler monkey getting ready for an afternoon nap and lots of birds. The view of the Macal river is stunning as well. Terry and Adi, Elbia and Solomon help to make sure your stay is what you hoped for. We took a couple of tours with Maya Walk to ATM caves and Tikal which we recommend, you can also explore on your own. Great location and good people.
Lovely house with spectacular jungle view
My extended family of 10 had a wonderful stay here! It's close enough to walk down into the quaint downtown of San Ignacio. Don't miss the Farmers market with 3 tacos for BZ $1, soursop ice cream and delicious fresh produce! The bedrooms and bathrooms are gorgeous and everything you need is provided (shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, plastic wrap, bottled water, spices....). Keys to all doors were provided and we felt very safe.
This is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy visiting Xunantunich and other Mayan ruins, cave tubing (must do!), zoo, and much more!
Wonderful House and Accomodations!!!
We traveled with 4 couples and this house was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen was clean and nice and I asked Terry (house coordinator) to stock it with fruit, snacks and drinks. She brought us a beautiful bowl of cut fruit, plantain chips, water and cold beer. All of the beds/furniture were comfortable and the house had great AC. Each of the 4 bedrooms has their own bathroom, shower and AC unit. The pool area is also very clean, has an outdoor bathroom, the wood deck is large and literally overlooks the river and jungle. We wanted to stay in San Ignacio for the jungle experience before heading to San Pedro later in the week. Terry's family owns a tour company called "Cayo Inland Expeditions" and we booked a few things with them and were very happy. It was unseasonably rainy and wet so our options were limited but her and her husband, JP were able to book 2 full days of excursions at the last minute. Day 1 we went horseback riding at Hannah Stables in the morning and canoeing through Barton Creek Caves in the afternoon. The next day we were only lucky enough to have ATM Cave open (it was closed mostly over the last 2 weeks due to rain) so their guide Jamil (Jam-Jam) brought us in and out of the cave in expert motion. If you are planning any types of tours/excursions I would recommend their company as the choices can be overwhelming. Terry also picked us up when we needed it although it is walking distance into town. The hill is a bit of a walk to the house and it was easy for us but just be aware if traveling with young kids or those with exercise restrictions. We saved our watermelon rinds for the groundskeepers to give to the chickens : ) The fenced in patio was also very comfortable and enjoyable with nice furniture and a smooth porch swing. We drank our coffee there each morning. This house would be perfect for families with kids too as long as they are old enough not to need a pool fence. It's very spacious and comfortable for everyone. The pictures do not do any justice and we were very much pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Our stay was fantastic and I'm very happy we chose this villa! We travel a lot and have stayed in many villas across the world and this one met all of our expectations! You will not be disappointed!
Great house with an awesome outdoor setup, which was only beat by the view. Unfortunately, we were there in the rainy season, so we didn’t have as many opportunities as we would have liked to use the pool and patio. To get to/from town you had to traverse two big hills, but it’s not too far and worth it for the view. Also, the house and town felt very safe. The only reason we didn’t give the house 5 stars was because we were a little concerned about the very unlikely scenario of a fire - there was only one exit from the house (all of the windows are barred and we didn’t get a key to the back door) and the only exit required the front porch gate key. Again, not a big deal, but it did worry us. Overall, would certainly recommend the house.
