About the property

Close to great hiking and downtown

Las Cruces is a wonderful place to spend the winter. My home is located in a quiet residential area close to New Mexico State University and the mountains. There is a master bedroom and a second bedroom with twin beds. The home has a large living room, a dining room and kitchen. An outdoor grill can be used year round. There is a washer and dryer and garage parking for one car. Las Cruces has many activities. The hiking is great all year round. The university offers plays and music events and the downtown has a farmers market, art walk and fine dining. Price includes maid service twice a month.

Monthly rental only. Winter season - minimum of 3 months - December - April

About Sally Meisenhelder

I now live in in Cambodia most of the year. I love Las Cruces and want to share the area with people. I especially love it in the summer so rent to those escaping the cold. People love Las Cruces. Of my last 5 long term guest, 4 bought houses here.

I have a wonderful manager, Steven who lives a few blocks away and is available always. I can also be reached almost always via my skype phone number.

Sally Meisenhelder purchased this house in 2001

Why Sally Meisenhelder chose Las Cruces

This home is located close to NMSU and convenient to shopping areas in Las Cruces and only a few minutes from the most beautiful hiking spot in the county - Soledad Canyon.

What makes this house unique

The neighborhood is an oasis of calm and quiet. Doves, quail and an occasional road runner can be seen in the back.

It was Great!

  • 4 of 5

This VRBO was located conveniently close to the NMSU. The house is comfortable and roomy with close access to walking trails. The kitchen had ample dishes and cooking equipment. The caretaker was friendly and very helpful with any problems on the property. The WiFi connection was spotty and had to be rebooted often. But after the caretaker notified the WiFi service it improved. We stayed for 2 months and were very pleased with the price and value we received.

First Feather

  • 5 of 5

I really liked being able to take a walk nearby. I found first feather in the backyard and second feather on my morning desert walk. We loved watching the hummingbirds. It was comfortable and close to restaurants and easy to find. I occasionally heard the freeway. I wish the master had a kingsized bed. Otherwise it was great.

This is a wonderful location to spend the winter. There are many plays, concerts and other events at the University. There is an art walk every month and a great farmers market weekly. The hiking is spectacular and 3 hiking groups for all levels will introduce you to the area. There are many activities for seniors with a remodeled center to open this month. Yoga classes are offered daily for $1 and there is a daily swim exercise class. In addition there are many craft classes or groups.

You can ski in Ruidoso and return the same day. White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns are also day trips.
