Private water front restored to original beauty--Discount for Weekly Rentals
Cedar Grove Beach is a vintage Eastern Shore property perfect for a family vacation or a group of friends to get away from it all. The property consists of two homes located on the banks of the Choptank River. Enjoy your own private sandy beach and private dock. Watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets across more than two miles of water.
Bring your kayak, canoe, sailboat, or boat which you can dock just outside on the private pier. There are numerous small creeks to explore, so don't forget your fishing gear, kayaks or crab nets. Cycling is also enjoyed throughout the region.
Newly restored, the 2-story home is a vintage Eastern Shore farm house. This home has four bedrooms and two full baths as well as a full farm-style kitchen, dining room, and living room, all lovingly restored preserving its Eastern Shore charm. The other building which sits directly on the water is one floor and was originally the dance hall for the Cedar Grove Beach Club--a popular destination for local residents during its heyday. Today the 'dance hall' is a completely renovated one bedroom home with a full kitchen, bath and laundry. The gathering room which runs the full length of the water side of the home has two mile wide views from the windows that cover the walls the length of the room. High ceilings and tasteful, uncluttered decorating make this room an ideal place for everyone to gather. There are games, puzzles, books and DVD's to borrow while you are here as well as comfortably furnished space for both work and leisure.
Boats can be kept at the dock just outside. There is a private ramp on an inland canal, which opens into the river. It is possible to fish and crab from your boats, the dock or the beach.
Not suitable for weddings or other events requiring gatherings of more than 15 people.

Beautiful property, great for Ironman Maryland weekend
This property is absolutely beautiful and exceeded my family's expectations. We stayed for four nights during the weekend of Ironman Maryland. Both properties were included in the rental, and it was very helpful to be able to spread out over the two houses. There were 8 adults in our party, and we fit comfortably in the two houses. The farmhouse is where most of my family stayed, and the clubhouse was like a private retreat for two. The property has a gorgeous view of the sunrise on the Choptank! The property was cleaned and well maintained. They had just about everything my family needed, and the property manager was quick to respond to questions.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in the Cambridge area!
Clean, comfy, spacious with great amenities
This property was above our expectations. The clubhouse was definitely spacious and the place to be, but there was plenty of comfortable space in the farmhouse for a quiet get away or small group games or talks. Beds were very comfortable, and bathrooms were supplied with amenities like extra shampoo and even a hair dryer. The owners were very friendly and attentive, even helping out with a flat tire! The road was great for morning walks, and it's a short ride into Cambridge (even shorter to the donut shop!). This is a lovely place to vacation on the eastern shore, even if you just want to sit and watch the river.
Beautiful property both inside and out! Views are just amazing!
Sherman was just wonderful and so very accommodating! Not to mention, after a very long day of cheering, volunteering and racing Ironman MD, Sherman made and brought us homemade vegetable soup! It was so generous and kind of him and was very much appreciated! We would stay here again!
Great vacation spot on the beautiful Choptank River
Our extended family spent the long Memorial Day weekend at this lovely property on the broad Choptank River upstream of Cambridge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners, who live next door, were so welcoming and helpful; their hospitality greatly added to the pleasure of our visit. The sandy beach and sandy river bottom make it an especially attractive spot for families with little children. I strongly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, laid-back place on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Fantastic property with incredible views.
I arrived at the property on a Friday afternoon and was shown around by the owner, a wonderful guy, who told me about the history of the area and helped me get my bearings since I had never been to this area of the Eastern Shore before. He made sure we had everything we needed when everyone else showed up & the weekend was wonderful. The boat ramp is in a protected area so you don't have to worry about the evening wind picking up. The closest grocery is about 5 mins away, the closest real restaurant is in town, 10-15 mins, so if you need nightlife it's not the place for you. However, if you want an amazing low key relaxing getaway, you can't beat it.
We cannot think of anything that would have made this vacation better! We spent a week at this wonderful relaxing retreat and hated to leave! It was comfortable and charming! Beds were comfy and bathrooms and kitchen were squeaky clean!! We spent most of our vacation just hanging out here playing games and enjoying the gorgeous view of the Choptank River. The owners live next door and are wonderful! They were very diligent about making sure we had everything we needed.
We can't wait to make another trip to this perfect getaway!!!
Fishing and crabbing are available in the Choptank River from the property's dock, or from your own boat. Golf is available at many lovely public courses including Hyatt Chesapeake Resort and Clearview at Horn's Point as well as two courses in Easton and one in St. Michaels. There are many restaurants in the surrounding area including: Cambridge 10 minutes, Trappe 20 minutes, Easton 25-30 minutes, Oxford and St. Michaels 40-45 minutes that offer a complete range of choices. Exploring these charming towns is possible by car or by bicycle. Don't miss the World Famous Waterfowl Festival weekend in Easton--2nd weekend in November. (Check Dates). The Ward Museum in Salisbury is of interest to many. Blackwater Wildlife Refuge is 16 miles away. Offers stunning views of waterfowl, bald eagles, heron and etc.
