Property description

PRE-HOLIDAY SPECIAL!
Discounted nightly rate in place for December 1 through 18, 2016!!

Casita Encanta is THE Best Lodging Value in Patagonia!

This sweetly decorated, bright and private 475-square-foot self-contained casita sleeps 2 adults. It has 1 bedroom and 1 bath, and an open plan living/dining room/kitchenette with a darling little cast-iron wood stove.

Check out our other wonderful vacation rental!
Casa Encanta (#651469).

The casita is located adjacent to our restored vintage 1930 raw mud adobe vacation rental bungalow, Casa Encanta, and is nestled in the heart of the funky, artsy town of Patagonia.

Wireless internet included.
Towels, linens, paper goods and shampoo/conditioner/soap/first aid items are provided, as well as kitchen essentials: oil, spices, coffee, tea, sweeteners, cream.

Your own very private 300-square-foot fenced courtyard and private gated entrance.

The casita has a partial view of the Patagonia Mountain range and Red Mountain.... and birds, birds, birds.

With a new premium pillow-top queen bed in the bedroom and a super-comfy twin daybed in the living room -- the casita is a delightful space for a maximum of 2 adults. For a larger party, consider renting both Casa Encanta (main house) along with Casita Encanta (guest house). The casita sleeps 2 adults, and has 1 bedroom and 1 full bath. Please note, both the casa and the casita are designed as adults-only getaway spaces, and are not intended for infants or children.

There's a teak bistro set in your private courtyard entrance garden, and a private gated entrance adjacent to off-street parking for 2 vehicles.

The casita is heated with new baseboard electric heat throughout and a charming vintage Waterford cast iron wood-burning stove in the main living area.

There's also an evaporative cooler, aka swamp cooler, which is a wonderfully refreshing alternative to air conditioning in the warmer, drier parts of the year.

GUEST ACCESS:
- Free wireless internet inside and outside casita
- New 32' flat-screen TV with DirecTV satellite
- New, top-notch pillow-top mattress in bedroom and comfy new mattress on daybed
- Private entrance gate with small, private fenced courtyard (300 sq. ft.)
- Off-street parking for 2 vehicles
- Cozy wood-burning stove with a supply of firewood
- Laundromat is 4 blocks away

ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD
'Patagonia is an eclectic, funky, little artisan town that loves to be discovered.'

Step back... to a place steeped in the mining, ranching, and railroad history that built the West. Step back to a place where residents share stories at the post office and local businesses are still owned by local people... no traffic signals and no chain stores.

The Town of Patagonia is appropriately proud of its history and distinctive character. The community is quirky, warm and funky and likes it that way. Patagonia is filled with a surprising diversity of eccentric, creative, neighborly folks from all walks of life embodying a distinct 'Live and Let Live' feeling, while loving and celebrating what makes Patagonia so authentically itself.

Situated at just over 4,000 feet elevation, between the Santa Rita Mountains and the Patagonia Mountains, our village is nestled in the lush, extraordinarily bio-diverse riparian corridor of Sonoita Creek.

The area’s scenic beauty and unique ecology boast the greatest diversity of plant and animal species to be found in the US.

With its' favorable climate and a growing colony of artisans and artists, Patagonia is a soft, colorful spot in which to land and explore. Birders, fishermen and hikers share the streets with shoppers and art-lovers looking for that perfect and unique gift -- and everyone revels in the year-round delightful weather.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2014

About the owner: My husband Ken and I are co-adventurers who sold our house and belongings in Tucson, Arizona, USA to head off to a life of savoring, beauty, abundance and creative expression in France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and England. After a year-and-a-half-plus of vagabonding, (including 13 months living in the Languedoc region of France), we're happily back in gorgeous, sunny southern Arizona. We're renovating a circa-1930s raw-mud adobe we just bought in the sweet Mountain Empire village of arts-y Patagonia, AZ. (An adventure in itself!) Ken is a Hospice Chaplain and Director of Hospice Volunteer Services, and a retired Methodist minister (though of the spiritual-not-religious variety). He also has a part-time private practice as a pastoral counselor and workshop leader specializing in working with men around issues of conscious living/ aging/dying/legacy-creation. I'm an artist and a facilitator of women's creativity and personal growths groups, classes and retreats. We both love meeting interesting and curious-minded folks from all over the world. We invite you to check out our sweet little 475-square-foot 1-bedroom/1-bath private casita at the back of our property. We've set it up as a perfect little self-contained, short-term vacation rental. We'd be delighted if you'd like to book a stay while exploring our little corner of paradise!
