About William and Tiki McIntyre

We have lived at our current address, which is right next door since the summer of 1999. We got married right after Katrina and we both practice Real Estate. Tiki is also a Personal Trainer and a Wellness Coach. I have always lived in uptown New Orleans just a few blocks from where we currently live while Tiki called both Baton Rouge and Alexandria home. We are both born and raised in Louisiana and have lots of stories to share. LSU and Tulane alum.....some might say with those 2 teams it could be the house divided. HA!

We love where we live because we can walk to so many of our favorite things - restaurants, Whole Foods, several parks (large and small), and many of our friends houses.

The picture of us is from a trip to Hollywood for a convention...loved it!

William and Tiki McIntyre purchased this condo in 1999

Why William and Tiki McIntyre chose West Riverside

One of the reasons I bought this property was because if the size of the rooms. Many 'double shotgun' homes have much smaller rooms. I also wanted to make sure the house I bought was in a fantastic location. This has really been nice for our guests. We have developed many lasting friendships with our guests...for those who are so inclined. We really enjoy having our vacation rental. We love how it provides more than 'just a hotel room' and we take great pride in making sure our guests love New Orleans as much as we do.

What makes this condo unique

Since we are right next door (& under the same roof) we are available to help with anything that may come up, whether it dinner reservations, a spice you may need to borrow, or just to answer any questions you may have about the area. MY FAVORITE THINGS: the front porch swing, our pond and outdoor seating/dining areas, the large front columns & huge stained glass windows are original to the house and very old! The plaster walls are great insulators and provide a great deal of privacy. The pocket doors inside the property are solid wood, and not only beautiful, but functional. The mantels in the rooms are also original. If staying in an old New Orleans house sounds like fun...then this is a great location for you! :)

Guestbook comments from the owner

Stayed in the house with friend for 5 days including New Years and loved everything about it. Great location uptown, comfortable bed with closet to hang up needed items. Full kitchen stocked with glassware to drink about anything you could want if you don't want to travel right down the street to many of the easily accessible watering holes. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice uptown location for their trip to Nola.

Great hosts and good location

  • 4 of 5

Tiki and William were very friendly and helpful. The house is within easy walking distance of Magazine street which has fun shops and restaurants, plus a bus that goes to the French quarter. The Mississippi River is only a few blocks away, which is great for walks and viewing sunsets. There is also easy access to the airport.

Cute, comfortable and great location

  • 5 of 5

William and Tiki were very friendly and accommodating hosts during my one month stay. The place itself is very charming with everything you need. It's obvious they've taken a lot of care in furnishing it. It's also walking distance to Audubon Park, a grocery store and other conveniences on Tchoupitoulas. And just a few blocks to Magazine St where there are tons of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a Whole Foods and Walgreens. The 10 bus is right across the street and the 11 bus, which is the more frequent and reliable of the two, is just up State on Magazine. Both will take you to the downtown/French Quarter area. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely book it again.

San Francisco

So glad I picked this offering!

  • 5 of 5

I am frequent traveler to NOLA. This rental exceeded my expectations. My niece and I were visiting her brother and also touring the Tulane Campus. Only a mile from Tulane and just a short walk to the 5900 block of Magazine street. Street parking is easy. My niece slept on the day bed in the living area, which is quiet. I took the bedroom which was large with a very comfortable bed. It’s the front half of a double shotgun and decorated the way you would expect a NOLA rental to look. AC worked great. Bathroom is larger than in rentals I have used before. Close to a number of fine dining restaurants .

Even tho we had a car, we used Lyft a couple of times and always were able to get a fast pick-up.

Owners are personable and helpful. Tiki even called me when she knew our flight had landed to tell me the freeway was packed and suggested another route. She was right! My niece and I visited with them a couple of times and and loved talking with them.

Will definitely rent again on my next trip!

Another Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at this property. We returned because we love the friendly, helpful owners and we love the location! After spending six days in the lovely French Quarter, this rental was a nice change of pace. Located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, Audubon Park and the Mississippi River this was a perfect rental for us. It provides a comfortable living space and the convenience of a kitchen and washer/dryer (just what we needed in warm New Orleans)! We were able to eat our breakfast and other meals (groceries from nearby Whole Foods) in our rental and had an easy stroll to great restaurants. The park is a short walk or drive away and is a great place to work off those fantastic New Orleans meals! If you have a car parking is not a problem. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone who is visiting New Orleans and wants to sample staying in another part of the city. You will find all you need here including owners who are available to answer questions and give excellent advice on their part of the city!
