About the property

We invite you to come stay with us in our comfortable 1BR studio condo/apartment that sleeps 4 guests total with all the amenities of your home. We are located just a few blocks from gorgeous Oak tree lined Audubon Park (great for sports enthusiasts or just plain nature lovers), our world famous Zoo, Magazine street (lined with restaurants and bars within walking distance), public transportation (can take you to the French Quarter in about 10-15 minutes), and Tulane and Loyola University. For those that need to be close to Children's Hospital, we are only 2 blocks away or about 2 miles to Ochsner Hospital.

We have off street parking right in front of our house.

In the bedroom we have a four post queen bed, cable tv, a computer desk, and a comfortable reading chair with lamp. In the other room we have a day bed with trundle underneath, a dining table in the corner, and an island to either eat from (we have stools) or use to prepare your food. We have all the accessories you need in the kitchen and a stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom.

If you find that there is something missing, then please let us know and we'll try to accommodate you the best we can. We live right next door and can let you borrow anything we have that you need.

About William and Tiki McIntyre

We have lived at our current address, which is right next door to our rental property, since the summer of 1999. Tiki bought the house then and proceeded to renovate the run down and uncared for property. We were married in 2006, the Spring after Hurricane Katrina, and have 2 daughters together plus an older daughter that I have from a previous marriage. I was born and raised in uptown New Orleans just a few blocks from where we currently live while Tiki was born and raised in Baton Rouge and Alexandria Louisiana. We are both Louisiana born and bred. While she attended and graduated from LSU, I went away to school for a few years then returned and graduated from Tulane.

We love where we live because we can walk to so many of our favorite things - restaurants, Whole Foods, several parks (large and small), and many of our friends houses.

The picture of us is from a trip to Hollywood for a convention...loved it!

William and Tiki McIntyre purchased this condo in 1999

Why William and Tiki McIntyre chose New Orleans

One of the reasons I bought this property was because if the size of the rooms. Many 'double shotgun' homes have much smaller rooms. I also wanted to make sure the house I bought was in a fantastic location and easy to get to the places I enjoyed going. This has really been nice for our guests. We have developed many lasting friendships with our guests...for those who are so inclined. Often times our guests want to have a private getaway in New Orleans and that's fantastic too! We really enjoy having our vacation rental. We love how it provides more than 'just a hotel room' and we take great pride in making sure our guests love New Orleans as much as we do.

What makes this condo unique

Since we are right next door (& under the same roof) we are available to help with anything that may come up, whether it dinner reservations, a spice you may need to borrow, or just to answer any questions you may have about the area. MY FAVORITE THINGS: the front porch swing, our pond and outdoor seating/dining areas, the large front columns & huge stained glass windows are original to the house and very old! The plaster walls are great insulators and provide a great deal of privacy. The pocket doors inside the property are solid wood, and not only beautiful, but functional. The mantels in the rooms are also original. If staying in an old New Orleans house sounds like fun...then this is a great location for you! :)

Guestbook comments from the owner

Stayed in the house with friend for 5 days including New Years and loved everything about it. Great location uptown, comfortable bed with closet to hang up needed items. Full kitchen stocked with glassware to drink about anything you could want if you don't want to travel right down the street to many of the easily accessible watering holes. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice uptown location for their trip to Nola.

Kiki and family went out of their way to make the place perfect for our family Christmas...decorations, cookies, and wine too! We will be back.

Quaint Uptown pleasure

  • 5 of 5

Just what we were looking for, so much better than a hotel downtown. We wanted to be close to shopping on Magazine St. and visiting friends who live Uptown and this property satisfied both. We were just a short walk around the corner from Clancy's, one of favorite restaurants. The property owners couldn't have been nicer, making sure we were comfortable from the moment we arrived. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Great neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

Loved this property and the area. Tiki is amazing and gracious. I will stay here if I can everytime I return. Walks to Audubon Park and the Garden District and Magazine Street were fantastic and a short cab ride to the Maple Leaf bar for some great music. I loved the quiet of the neighbourhood too. 20 minute bus ride to Canal St.

This house is great! It's got everything you need to feel comfortable while on vacation.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I brought our 11 month old and the homeowners were great. They provided a pack and play and a stroller which was extremely helpful as we didn't have to bring those on the plane. The kitchen was nice to have and a grocery store is walking distance also. The house has a swing out front and a relaxing atmosphere. It's walking distance from a huge park and zoo and from a cool street with lots of shops and restaurants. It's and easy taxi ride or walk to the trolley car to get to Bourbon St as well. The home owners were very accommodating and had lots of good suggestions for things to do and were all around helpful. We would definitely stay here next time we come to New Orleans!

Comfortable, great location, very personable and helpful

  • 5 of 5

Came to NO to visit our daughter at Tulane for a couple of nights. Wanted a comfortable, reasonable and easily accessible place to stay. We found it in this wonderful shotgun home. Nicely located to Tulane, Audubon Park, resturants and shopping. Great alternative to a B&B with added benefit of a kitchen. Only small inconvenience was no bathtub and the shower is a little tight. Great place for a few nights or an extended stay. Tiki is very personable and attentive. We have and will continue to recommend their place.
