We loved the cabin, pictures don’t do the size of it justice. Great layout, loved the big open kitchen. Fantastic view of the lake. Very nice dock system. No complaints at all. The stairs down to the lake were a great workout for these old legs. All my kids and grandkids had a wonderful week on the lake. Can’t wait to go back.
We loved the house, location, water access, kayaks, etc.! Can't say enough good things about the property. It was a very relaxing and a perfect end to our summer. The dock was very nice and new! Thanks for allowing us to stay!
A wonderful vacation spot!
This was our second stay at this property and it was even better than the first time! The new stairs and the deck are just awesome. The house is very well equipped and Bruce is wonderful to work with. Our family loves this house!
Lovely home on Gull Lake
2 couples (aged 65+) stayed here the week of July 4. The home is very well maintained and had everything we needed and more. We had a little trouble figuring out how to work the large tv in the living room so we just borrowed the remote from the room with the smaller tv and it worked fine. We love Nisswa and routinely come every year or 2 to the area but we may try to come earlier in the year next time to avoid the abundance of mosquitoes!! To the owner's credit, we only saw the can of Deep Woods Off in the cupboard when we were cleaning up and ready to leave. (The bug spray we brought with us didn't stop those pests at all so make sure you bring some with deet!!) We enjoyed the visits (outside) from both neighbor's friendly dogs. We'd gladly stay here again.
Gullwood Shores is a lovely Holiday get away! Our party of 11, mostly adults and teenagers, had great space in this home. The lake is phenomenal....the boat lift and dock are awesome. The locale of home near Baxter, Nisswa, Brainerd offer alot of fun for rain days or sun fried days....The stairs to the water offer built in exercise, which on a vacation with liquor and food delights is definitely needed:) Even my 75 year old Father did those stairs. Hot water, good shower pressure, garbage disposal, garage, decent beds, wood pile ready to go for bon fires, sound proof sunroom, the list goes on for +++...The only addendums to note are: basement bedroom bed is super firm. Would recommend bringing 3" eggshell if you need some "soft". Also, parking the boat & trailer in the driveway is a bit of work. It can be done, just be prepared. Gullwood Shores is a great VRBO. We plan to book again. Owner is super responsive too.
It was a great place for a get together as a girls weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay... the only thing that was a bit of a bummer was the dock was not in and there were no stairs to get down to the lake! Great place for a get away with friends though!
Thanks for your comments Catie and for deciding to stay at our property. I know there are a lot of alternatives out there. The dock probably still isn't in as the company is way behind because of the late ice out. This was communicated prior to your arrival. Also, the stairs from the landing to the lake are removable and those go in with the dock. If you decide to come back, you'll notice that the stairs/landing and dock are all brand new in 2018.
Close to dining, golf, skiing, and shops!
