About Simon and Joyce Usher
Simon and Joyce Usher live on The Dunglass Estate which is a family run Estate in East Lothian Scotland. Dunglass is a historic traditional agricultural Estate and it is currently one of Scotland's finest wedding and event venues offering stunning accommodation that's set within a beautiful designed landscape. Having successfully launched our new accommodation and event business in 2009 as part of an extensive diversification plan for Dunglass Estate we are continuing to evolve in to the prime holiday let market. Joyce has exceptional experience towards internal design of properties and she has recently completed renovating five houses on Dunglass Estate for the event and holiday let market. Joyce's passion, experience, enthusiasm and attention to detail towards interior design ensures that properties are presented to the highest standard and that you will have a most memorable and comfortable time. Simon has been closely involved with the running of his family estate which was purchased by his great grandfather in 1919. Famed for their philanthropy - Simon's ancestor, Andrew Usher, donated funds to build a city hall in Edinburgh in 1896 and this later became one of the cities most prestigious concert venues called The Usher Hall. Andrew Usher began experimenting with the blending of Whisky in the 1840's. Although the business was eventually sold, The Usher family were pioneers of their time helping to create 'The Water Of Life'. Simon has worked together with his wife Joyce to evolve the family's interests both with the wedding and event business and more recently towards the acquisition of our new property Dublin Street Lane. We both care very much about helping bring together memorable experiences in exclusive places and our motto is 'Unforgettable Occasions'.

This was a family stay of 10 Days - 10 people; 3 families.
The property is central in location, and extraordinarily well equipped. Whether staying in or going out the location is outstanding. The quality of the furniture, kitchen, multiple TVs, bathrooms, bedding and supplies are out of this world.
Highly recommend this property. Joyce Usher is also very responsive and helpful, including having a gorgeous Christmas tree and festive decorations put in place.

Wonderful home in New Town. First time visitors to Edinburgh with great stories to take home and remember . Just came down from St. Andrews to close out memorable trip and needed some space and style to chill. Quiet area and easy access to everything. Bring comfy walking footwear. Would do this home again in a heartbeat.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful house
We were 3 generations getting together to enjoy a short stay in Edinburgh and enjoy the Edinburgh Fringe. The house is ideally located in the New Town and we were able to walk to all our Fringe shows (buses were close by too!). The house was also well positioned for the shops (Harvey Nics, John Lewis, Goethe street and Princess Street) and there were loads of places close by to eat also. The house was beautiful, very clean and very well equipped. Didn't really want for anything. The owners and David (concierge) were very accommodating and responsive when we had a problem with the lights. A wonderful stay in a wonderful property
Superb house, comfortable , well equipped and in quiet area but very close to centre and sights
Modern high quality accommodation in a townhouse with plenty of space for a large group/family. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Ideal for sightseeing or the festival as easy walk to Princes Street and central Edinburgh. Tram and buses nearby too and 2 secure parking spaces on site. Outdoor courtyard and seating for warm days! Would strongly recommend.
A fabulous home, close to the centre of Edinburgh but the quietness of a home in the country.
It was an exceptional home with all that a person could ask for.
