Overview

About the property

Paikapahu House is an updated 2br/1ba vacation rental located in Captain Cook.

The Space

With a queen bed in each bedroom plus two sleeper sofas in the living room, the house can accommodate 4-6 guests comfortably. There is only one bath. Please contact me for a rate quote. VRBO's rate quotes can be confusing.

One of the first things you will notice about this house is the view. Sweeping sunset vistas of Kealakekua Bay make the kitchen and dining room a perfect place to end a great day of exploring this beautiful region of Hawaii. Whether you’ve been hiking along the Captain Cook Monument Trail, kayaking and snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay, or touring Kona Coffee and mac nut farms, Paikapahu House is a perfect home base for all your adventures. For regional reference, this unit is approximately 25 minutes south of the town of Kailua-Kona, and about 35-40 minutes south of the Kona Airport.

With a recent remodel, Paikapahu House will offer you the comfort of a clean, modern, tropical retreat. The unit is a completely private and secure apartment of my house. Guests have their own entrance, full kitchen, living room, Wi-Fi, washer and dryer, and same-level parking.

I am happy to help you with any needs, requests or questions you may have during your stay.

Guest Access

Guests will have their own private unit with access to a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and property grounds.

Interaction with Guests

I like to meet and greet guests. But if I have to work, or be off Island, I will leave detailed instructions and a local contact.

The Neighborhood

Sunset views from the neighborhood are spectacular. It is a great location to access both Kealakekua Bay and South Kona's restaurants and shops.

Getting around

I strongly recommend a rental car for your stay in the South Kona region. Public transit is not convenient in this area.

House Rules

Guests are expected to respect the house and property. Simply clean up your things at the end of your stay, and I will take care of the rest. I look forward to hosting you!

Great place in Captain Cook

We had a great time in Captain Cook on a recent trip to big island. Ken was very helpful to direct us to the nearby stores. Place is very nice and all amenities.

Great location and comfortable staying

  • 5 of 5

My family along with my parents 6 people in total had a wonderful stay at Ken’s place during the Christmas period. It was a very comfortable 3 nights. Kids love the smoothies made from the fruits Ken provided in the fridge. The house has a great location and many sight seeings are about 5-15 minutes from the house, such as 2-steps, a national park, coffee mill, painted church, Hawaii’s oldest restaurant, etc. Ken’s kind help on opening our coconut was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely stay again if we come back.

Great place and great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Paikapahu House. The home is comfortable and spacious. The Kotner's were excellent hosts. We certainly recommend the Paikapahu House to anyone seeking a clean, well outfitted, and reasonably priced home in the Kona area. Thanks for the wonderful stay. Shane

Great location

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed here one night before heading to a resort, but it was a fantastic stay! The view of the bay was great especially at sunset. The beds were very comfy and we enjoyed being able to use the TV in the living room for Netflix as well as the provided Wifi. There were snorkels and goggles provided and I highly recommend putting them to use!

Beautiful View & Spacious

  • 5 of 5

This home was in the perfect location to overlook the bay and see the ocean. Our party was very comfortable and enjoyed their time at this lovely and spacious getaway. At night this location is great for star gazing and just plain old relaxing. We will stay here again when we visit Captain Cook in the future.

This is a very nice place to stay. Plenty of room for a family and great views of the ocean. The center of Kona is about 30 minutes away and the airport is about 45 minutes away.
