About the property

Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This newly remodeled, spacious and unique, three bedroom, three bath villa is a great place for a fun-filled family vacation or for a romantic honeymoon.

After spending the day having fun at the beach, playing golf, bicycling, or doing many other exciting things at Seabrook, come in and cook a meal on our new commercial style stainless steel grill and enjoy eating on our large furnished screened-in back porch overlooking the seventh green. You may even see a few deer walking across the green or nibbling in the backyard. After your meal unwind and pop in a DVD in front of our new large screen Television.

Fun in the sun, in the ocean, on the beach, or in the pool is an easy walk or bicycle ride away. Parking access is also provided at the end of the boardwalks by the beach.

We have large flat screen Smart TV in the Master bedroom, a King Bed and a newly tiled Spa shower. The Guest room has a Queen Bed and a Smart TV. The bathroom is also newly remodeled. The loft has both a Twin bed and a Full bed and third bedroom has a daybed with a pop-out trundle and a private bathroom.

Our newly remodeled Kitchen has new cabinets, granite countertops, new stainless steel appliances, a new sink and a refrigerator with internet access.

Our villa will comfortably sleep eight.

Seabrook Island has over three miles of uncrowded pristine beach. It is not unusual to see dolphins playing near the shore. Enjoy walks or bicycling in the shade of tropical palm trees and windswept twisted live oaks adorned with spanish moss. Birdwatchers will enjoy the sights and sounds of the various birds including pileated wood-peckers and bald eagles, but the wild life does not stop there. In the dew of the early morning and as the sun goes down, you may often see a family of deer in the nearby lush forests. If you look carefully you may even spot an alligator sunbathing on the banks of the many ponds.

Take a day trip to historic Charleston and enjoy a fun and educational carriage tour or enjoy many other nearby historic places such at the campus of The Citadel, Fort Sumter, and The Yorktown Battleship. Shopping in Charleston is an experience not to be missed, and when the sun sets, take in a fabulous meal in one of Charleston's famous restaurants.

Excellent Villa BUT Dog Owners Do Need To Be Aware

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful and clean updated villa with plenty of space for our party of six. North Beach is a short bike ride away and we loved watching the deer from the big screened in porch. Diane was easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. If you are traveling with your dog, please take note that the neighbor to the right of the villa is not dog friendly. We did not have the extent of problems that a previous renter reported but he did yell at us one day when HE was making a lot of noise in his carport and our dog barked because of HIS banging. We would absolutely stay again though if we were vacationing without our pet.

Owner's Response: I am so glad that you had a great time at Seabrook. Sorry about our neighbor. We are going to Seabrook in a couple of weeks and while we are there, have a heart to heart talk to him! Maybe we can persuade him to be more courteous to our renters with pets. Thanks for the great review! Diane

Never again!!

  • 1 of 5

We rented this cottage for my family to enjoy while I was at a medical conference. The cleanliness was less than anticipated. While sweeping up after ourselves, we found large amounts of dog hair that was not from our pups.

The neighbor next to the cottage startled one of our dogs and they barked briefly. He SCREAMED at them and made ugly comments to us. For the rest of the week he made hateful comments and/or yelled every time he saw us outside. We discussed with the owner, Rodger Oakes, that the neighbor makes this property uncomfortable for dog owners. He acknowledged the neighbor had issues with dogs being present at the property in the past. We suggested he change this property to a pet free rental to avoid disappointing dog friendly families.

We also witnessed the neighbor call security on two boys talking quietly and playing catch at another neighboring cottage. Security asked them to play inside.

Midweek the AC went out in 100+ heat index days and it took the owner greater than 48 hours to have it fixed. We were patient and polite the entire time, although I was concerned for my father's health. He slept on the floor of the sunroom one night, because he was too hot. The owner offered no compensation for the horrible heat we endured, except for a gift basket for our dogs from his natural dog food store. We are still waiting for those baskets almost a year later.

The owner did call us to ask that we not use the back porch, because the neighbor complained of noise. We explained we had not choice, since the AC was not working. Ironically the store's face book posts encouraged dog owners to keep their dogs out of extreme heat during the same heat wave.

They also arranged for a new dishwasher to arrive during our stay, which was another added inconvenience to a unacceptable stay.

We love Seabrook Island. We love the beaches, the bike trails, the local marina, the beach front pool, and shopping center. It is our FAVORITE vacation destination. This was our third trip down. We still had an awesome time. We love to see the dolphins strand feed. We watched the release of turtles this trip. We will return to Seabrook soon, but we will NEVER rent from this owner again. This was by far the worst VRBO stay we have experienced.

In Love with Seabrook

  • 5 of 5

We contacted Diane about renting her home and from that point forward the experience was pleasant at every turn. Diane took a considerable amount of time to answer all of my questions about her home and the island. What she was not sure about she sought out the answers for and got back with me.

The home is located in a very quiet nice peaceful area a short bike ride from the beaches and the pool. The house is well equipped and in excellent shape. We spent several evenings playing cards on the back porch which overlooks the golf course.

As for Seabrook Island itself we fell in love with all it has to offer a family on vacation. We've visited quite a few coastal communities over the past 20 years and found Seabrook Island to have the perfect balance we were looking for. The island is truly gated and gets no unwanted traffic. Even Kiawah cannot boast of this as they let shoppers and golfers by the dozens flood in at will. The Island has an excellent equestrian center, world class tennis center, a beach club with restaurant and pool, bike friendly roads and loads of natural habitat. We had not visited Seabrook in almost twenty years but were so struck by it that we finished the week long visit by making an offer on a home of our own.

If we end up closing on our home we owe it to the experience we had renting from Diane at Tarpon pond.

Exceeded my expectations

  • 5 of 5

Not sure if my other review posted, but i was here from 6/23-6/30 and we had a great time. Went to the beach, relaxed around the house, cooked food, watched tv. It's like we never left home. The owners were very helpful and returned all calls and emails. Property was accurately described in listing, was clean and well maintained. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay, and since this was my first time, I definitely look forward to returning.
