This penthouse is completely furnished and is equipped with central air conditioning, washer and dryer, garbage disposal, side by side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, silverware, dishes and cooking utensils. This penthouse also comes with cable television in all bedrooms and the living room, wifi, a whirlpool tub and private patio. Residents can view the Atlantic from the balcony and enjoy around the clock security service at the entrance to the complex.

If you're tired of today's business pressures and want to add a few years to your life, this is the place! – and, as the locals would say, “Day it up!' meaning ‘Use the day for yourself’! Extensive sandy beaches, emerald oceans and an easy-going lifestyle under everlasting shiny skies – the combination contributing to the image of the Caribbean Islands as your substitute for paradise. Only in the Bahamas will you find the perfect conditions for an extended stay. The standard of living exceeds every other island republic by a wide margin, therefore social tensions are almost unknown.
Grand Bahama Island has its own airport and provides all the infrastructure of modern life. In its urban center, it spreads the cosmopolitan air of banks, casinos and shopping areas - only to blend into a unique holiday resort with all facilities for sports and leisure at the coast of Lucaya. The Bell Channel Club complex is located right there.
I rented this 2 story apartment for my daughter, her husband and her 3 young children for a week starting Dec. 28, 2014. It is situated in Bell Channel Club which is an upscale development in the mostly resort area of Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. The apartment is on the fifth and sixth floor of a multi-unit building that is in good condition. Elevator was reliable. Bell Channel Club is beachfront in the fine Taino Beach area. There is a ferry nearby that runs hourly to take you to the busy Port Lucaya complex that has shops, entertainment, and restaurants. A casino is across the street from Port Lucaya in the Grand Lucayan Hotel. Bell Channel Club also has a private, lightly used, very clean and well heated pool with an outdoor shower to remove sand before using the pool. The children loved the beach and the pool. The apartment is very spacious, clean, well equipped, furnished and decorated. It has its own washer and dryer which is a big plus. The unit has all rooms on the first floor except the huge master suite which is upstairs. Appliances and TVs all worked but there is no telephone in the unit for local calls. No DVD player, either, when they were there. Internet service worked well, but the modem was in the next apartment (also owned by this owner) and could have been a problem if it needed re-booting. Owner will supply router password. There is an outdoor balcony on the first floor with a table and chairs and fine view of the Bell Channel inlet coming from the ocean into Port Lucaya and a small marina which is part of the Bell Channel Club. The owner of this apt. lives in Florida and is cooperative and helpful but does not have a local manager right now. I have told him of some generally minor issues that need attention. These are things like supplying new soaps, paper towels, checking light bulbs, etc. He has a cleaning woman who is quite helpful in general and can be called upon for mid-week cleaning if needed. The owner has not had this on the vacation rental market for long and I trust he will see to the issues that need attention. I have omitted a fifth star because of these minor issues. But overall, this is a fine, over-sized apartment in an excellent, safe, gated complex on a lovely beach and my daughter said she would be happy to return to it again with her family.
Take a 3 minute walk to Flamingo Bay to catch a water taxi ($3.00 per person) to Port Lucaya Marketplace.
Port Lucaya Marketplace is a vibrant, open-air shopping and entertainment hub set on a five-acre peninsula overlooking the waterfront. Whatever you are looking for on your trip to Grand Bahama Island, you are likely to discover it here amid the collection of booths, specialty venues and overflowing stalls.
Here, international flair intersects with rich local traditions, and you'll find one of the largest Straw Markets in the Bahamas selling beautiful, hand-crafted treasures beside upscale boutiques with international designer labels such as Gucci and Nautica. Expect plenty of good bargains in duty-free crystal, fine jewelry, gemstones and haute couture as well as an array of island gear, trinkets and souvenirs.
The entertainment is virtually non-stop with a full calendar of events each month that includes an eclectic mix of cultural Junkanoo evenings, dance bands, Karaoke and Sunday Gospel music. Most performances center on Count Basie Square, the heart and soul of the marketplace, which honors the memory of the famed musician who made Grand Bahama his home. This busy outdoor stage showcases both local talent and established artists.
The Port Lucaya Marketplace is adjacent to the Treasure Bay Casino and within walking distance to Grand Lucayan Resort.
